We stayed 2 nights at the Lancaster B&B and felt truly welcomed by Keith & Brad! They're actually from CA and moved out to PA to enjoy the seasons and started the B&B. Love the cozy house that we stayed at that had reading nooks, living room, working station, snacks, etc. The room we stayed at was called the Foxglove which is all the way up on the 3rd floor at the top of the stairs. It was very cozy with an electric fireplace and its own bathroom. It was very clean and felt like my own home. The best part was breakfast!! The juices, coffee, yogurt parfait, handmade chicken sausages...bomb!! I wish we could've enjoyed breakfast Sunday morning too but our flight left too early however Brad made us breakfast sandwiches to take to the airport!! Soooo sweet. They are the kindest, most thoughtful people and we had such great conversations with them during breakfast about everything - life, food recommendations, culture, travel, etc. They truly are amazing hosts. My husband and I stayed at the Lancaster Bed & Breakfast on our wedding night on 3/29. It was absolutely amazing! The owners are wonderful. So kind and hospitable. They made us feel so special. We enjoyed the conversation with them, two very special souls. The room was extremely clean, very warm and inviting. Super cozy, and absolutely adorable. The house itself was beautiful. They have a library full of snacks and drinks and a living room full of fresh baked cookies the owner makes herself daily! You can also put any food or drinks of your own in the fridge in the kitchen which was very nice. We met two couples that were staying there that also got married on the 29th of march. One has been married 50 years and the other 68, which felt like a little blessing! We loved chatting with them. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and some of the best food we've ever had. Our first course was fresh blueberries drizzled with local honey and an egg quiche with gruyere, mushrooms and chives. Second course was a croissant french toast stuffed with apple pie filling. It was full of warm sliced apples and sweet filling. Drizzled with more filling and topped with fresh sweet cream. To go with that we had bacon that the owner smokes himself. It had 50% less salt than regular bacon, we have never had anything like that. It was so fresh and delicious. The owners also topped off our coffee frequently and juice as well. What a great spot to stay! A bit off the beaten path, but still close to everything. It was our 5th anniversary, and our first trip to Lancaster. My wife had never stayed in a B&B, and this gem was an amazing experience. The room was comfortable and spacious. Everything was spotless. The skylights in the Fennel room are a nice feature too. The grounds are very peaceful despite being fairly near the road, and the spot near the koi pond is a great little oasis to relax. Our hosts, Jason and Kim, were very welcoming and gracious, even when we showed up for breakfast a little early. :) And the breakfast could not be beat! I cannot recommend the Lancaster B&B highly enough. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor... skip the chain motel/hotels and stay at The Lancaster, you will not regret it! read more

Brad and Keith have a wonderful haven right outside of downtown Lancaster. The inn is so clean and inviting. Not to mention, the breakfast is delicious. I felt right at home and Keith made sure to give me a full tour when I arrived. I stayed in the Foxglove so I would have a quiet room with my own air conditioner. Great bathroom with skylight and also a daybed, if needed. I loved staying here because the innkeepers truly put their heart and soul into their b&b. read more

This was my first experience at a B&B, and it was absolutely incredible. The owners, Brad and Keith, were so personable and friendly. You can tell they're very proud of everything they do to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. They offered MANY recommended dining experiences, which were broken down by type of cuisine, price range, and type of business. During our stay, we explored downtown Lancaster as well as the outskirts. The B&B offered everything you could think of-- kitchen (if you wanted to put anything in the fridge), water/soda, packaged snacks, sweet treat cookies, and a wall of brochures of anything and everything you could do in the area. They've done a beautiful job keeping up with the building and have styled it perfectly. On top of all these amazing things, the breakfast was out of this world delicious. From the initial phone call made asking questions about the stay, all the way up to check out was nothing short of the best customer service I've ever experienced. They were more than accommodating when I requested an early check-in. The property is beautiful & the main house is the cutest. Very clean & organized. I was greeted by Keith upon check-in. He showed me around the house & showed me to my room. My room was very neat, clean & cozy. I was attending a wedding in the area & used Uber to get to & from which was a quick & easy process. Brad & Keith were cooking up some delicious smelling goods in the kitchen when I came downstairs the next morning. While I decided not to join the other guests for breakfast & just head home, they were kind enough to offer to pack up my breakfast to-go. It was a super yummy vegetable quiche & I believe handmade chicken sausage patties. It was so delicious! I highly recommend The Lancaster Bed & Breakfast if you're looking for a stay that is a little more personal than a hotel. I will most definitely be back to stay again. My wife and I stayed here for our first Anniversary. Our room, The Hawthorne was very spacious, cool (even though the outside temps were near 100), clean, and very comfortable. The caretakers Kim and Jason are incredible hosts who can take you through the wonderfully storied history of the house and consider themselves the sixth caretaker of this beautiful lady. Warmth and comfort resonate from room to room as you enjoy a fresh baked cookie and fresh coffee while in the sitting room, or enjoying top notch, unexpected, exquisite breakfasts. The location is only a mile from all the downtown attractions, fine dining, spas, and more. Booked a night at stay here with my fiancé because we wanted to explore Lancaster but didn't want to go home the same day. We both had a rough week at our jobs but did not want to cancel our reservation. I'm glad we didn't. We were greeted by Keith, who gave us the rundown on Lancaster, the history, and even recommended some places we could explore. The house itself was beautiful. It almost felt like a little museum. My fiancé and I explored the living room area. There were cookies, snacks, and drinks available upon arrival. We paid for a local cheese platter and chocolate covered strawberries, which we ended up taking home due to us already buying snacks at the central market, but the cheeses and chocolate covered strawberries were good. There was also a koi fish pond out front. Not only was Keith very friendly but extremely accommodating. We did not get up in time for breakfast but Keith offered to pack breakfast to go. It was a delicious quiche with tomatoes, which I believed Brad cooked. When told before that my fiancé prefers plain food (he acts like he's allergic to flavor), Keith was quick to say that they could whip something up for him if necessary. The room itself was called the Clove, and it was very charming. My only complaint is the queen size bed was too small for my fiancé but that is more of a preference of ours than a fault of theirs. I booked about 3 weeks ahead of time, and there was only 1 room available, so I suggest book way ahead of time. Keith was so nice to us despite us not being very sociable. Our stay at The Lancaster Bread and Breakfast Inn was phenomenal! The Innkeepers Keith and Brad pay attention to detail and are extremely accommodating to all guests and engage in heartfelt conversations. Checkin was seamless and ample parking was available. We opted for the Hawthorn Suite on the second floor as it was the most spacious accommodation...husband is 6'4". Suite included bathroom, separate sitting area, walk in closet, and bathroom. The breakfast each day mirrored a three course meal and was outstanding. Lastly, The Inn is close to Lancaster attractions. If you're coming to Lancaster, or visiting any of the surrounding areas, I cannot reccomend a better place to stay than The Lancaster Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I and our 2 daughters just enjoyed a terrific stay here while visiting Amish country and Hershey Park. We've stayed at many wonderful BnB's (and some not so wonderful), and I can honestly say that The Lancaster is one of the best experiences we've ever had. The innkeepers, Brad and Keith, could not be more friendly, helpful and accommodating. They give you an easy feeling, like you're simply friends staying in their home. We enjoyed two amazing gourmet breakfasts during our stay, prepared with fresh organic products. We're grateful that they went out of their way to accomodate our preferences. The Inn itself is beautiful. The decor is charming and cozy. Even though this is a historic home, all of the amenities are up to date, and in great working order. There is a comfortable living room stocked with books and board games which we enjoyed hanging out in at night. There is a beautiful, somewhat secluded porch, with a swing seat for relaxing. There's also a tranquil garden with comfortable seating and a nice running fountain and pond. We stayed in adjoining rooms, with a comfortable queen sized bed in our room, and 2 nice double beds in our daughter's room. The bedding is nice quality, and there are plenty of pillows and blankets. We shared an immaculately clean, large private bathroom. Brad and Keith have go the extra yard to provide ample resources about the area. They've composed a convenient bedside book detailing the best (and worst) places to eat, and the local attractions, etc...Since they've made it their business to visit all of these places themselves, they can advise about these places from first hand knowledge. This place truly is a find to enhance anyone's trip. - The grounds are beautifully manicured - The decor inside is tasteful and charming - The rooms are cozy and comfortable (with AC--a major plus during the summer!). Modern, yet include some vintage trinkets and artwork, including some authentic Amish quilts. - The food is heavenly and prepared with such care and thoughtfulness. They also have cookies in the main room - soft, moist, delicious and the perfect late-night treat. - The inn-keepers, Brad and Keith, are definitely the highlight of this place. They take great pride in what they do, and are extremely friendly, accommodating, and warm. They are the perfect pair to run a B&B and have a wonderful way of making you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The Lancaster B&B is wonderful in every way. Situated in a manicured and quiet residential area, it offers the peacefulness of a more rural location while being extremely convenient to downtown Lancaster - just about a 5 minute drive. The house itself is beautiful, inside and out. Its decor exudes a quiet elegance and sophisticated country charm. The garden out back is lovely, too; I'd love to see it in Spring when the tulips and lilacs are in bloom! We stayed in the cottage, just across the way from the main house. The Saffron room was perfect... spacious and comfortable. Everything about the room - from its furnishings to the prints on the walls - gave a nod to country living and the region's Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, but without being too frilly. (I hate how most B&B's choke you with doilies and dusty potpourri. The Lancaster knows where to draw that line, and thankfully does not cross it.) It's the little things that make an impression, and our room had many nice touches that did not go unnoticed: an eclectic selection of books and magazines for the browsing; full sized hair dryer in the bathroom; Lindt truffles left on the bed. The bed sheets were the softest I'd ever felt - positively delicious! And although it wasn't cold outside, we just had to plug in the electric fireplace to see how it works (very well, actually!). Just outside our door was a small refrigerator packed with sodas and bottled water; above it was a basket of packaged snack foods, and a Keurig machine with a variety of coffee and tea pods. The only thing missing was fresh milk for my coffee (they do supply creamers). We were also allowed full access to the main house and all of its amenities. The living room is furnished with comfy-looking couches and an interesting selection of DVD's; there's a platter of home baked goodies, as well. I snuck over before bed to grab a cookie or two... the oatmeal raisin was particularly scrumptious! There's also a computer available to guests in the den - a nice and thoughtful touch that I've not encountered before in a B&B. Breakfast at the Lancaster was wonderful. They had absolutely no problem catering to our vegetarian diet. While we tucked into a cup of fresh fruit and Greek yogurt, Brad freshly prepared Whole Wheat Carrot Cake Pancakes that were lighter and fluffier than most white flour pancakes I've had. They were topped with a drizzle of lightly sweetened Neufchatel cheese and pure maple syrup, and finished with a sprinkle of crunchy pecans. Served alongside two vegetarian sausage patties, this was one hearty and delicious meal! Coffee was really good, too... though again, I would have preferred milk over half & half. Given how pleased I was with every aspect of our stay, I probably would have given a 5-star review even if the owners had been rude, or annoying, or disinterested, or overbearing. Brad and Keith, however, are none of these things! They were warm and gracious hosts - helpful, thoughtful, and outgoing - with an air of professionalism that spoke to their dedication and love for what they do. They know how to maintain that "delicate balance" that's so hard to find in a B&B. Our stay at the Lancaster B&B surpassed all expectations. It was perfect, really. I have stayed at quite a few B&B's for personal and business travel, but never have I enjoyed such a delightful stay than at the Lancaster B&B. The hosts, Brad and Keith, were, as one other Yelper wrote, meant to be innkeepers. We visited with them several times over our stay and the conversation was intellectual, relaxing and inspiring. The rooms are clean and unique--perfect really! (Note that hubby and I are fans of older buildings. This one has the needed updates but still retains old school charm.) The breakfast was my favorite part though. We had quiche one morning (it was divine) and hash the other. Both were elegant and delicious (and accompanied by fresh fruit, a scone, coffee, etc) without a hint of snobbery. As we said throughout our stay, this place is the "fancy without the schmancy." HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Living in a technological world where referrals and recommendations matter -- I'm glad I found something to brag about. This past weekend, Lacanster Bed & Breakfast proved to be a haven in the heart of Lancaster. My husband and I celebrated our 11th year anniversary and arrived on a Thursday where we were welcomed by a warm smile and a tour to a cozy and beautifully designed home. The Keurig and macadamian nut cookies caught my husband's "sweet-tooth" attention. :) Reading about our enjoying breakfast at this B&B does it no justice; being served by an experienced chef and cooking instructor I believe says plenty. We ventured during the weekend through the town; the sense of community and culture were evident as we witnessed the Amish experience with visible buggies, quilt & antique stores, a wide variety of restaurants, and history found within local architecture. Thanks to our innkeeper's vast knowledge of the town, we were able to make the most of our time in PA, and enjoyed dinner at delicious restaurants such as El Serrano and Miller's Smorgasbord. As full time High School teacher, and mother of two, and my husband a systems admistrator in the heart of downtown Manhattan, we truly look forward to returning to this haven surrounded by rich culture, and filled with the best of everything found in this one place this past weekend. If you ever wonder what exactly makes an inn the top rated in its area it is the attention to detail and the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment. Brad and Keith nail this! They do a fabulous job of not only offering a majestic retreat with fabulous food, but they do so with a hint of humor and a lot of friendliness. From the minute you step through the door you feel like an old friend and you feel like they truly want you there! Many inns are nice and some have good food, but a lot of times they don't give you the warm and fuzzy. They don't make you feel welcome and they don't make you feel like you are special; you are simply a $. We were lucky (LUCKY) to get to stay at the Lancaster over labor day. There happened to be a last minute cancellation and we grabbed it. We lucked out and got the Hawthorn room. Loved it! Loved the bathtub, it is HUGE! The bed was comfy and the room was great, very spacious. Breakfast was fabulous, I really need to get the recipe for the Amish oatmeal... yummy! We got to feast on the deconstructed strata the first morning and the Amish oatmeal with the root vegetable hash and egg for the second day. You do NOT go hungry. At all. If you are looking for a fabulous get away this is the place. We certainly hope to go back and fully expect subsequent visits to be as great as our first one! LOVED IT!!! read more

My boyfriend and I spent valentines weekend here and I can't stress enough how amazing this place was. The location is conveniently located to all nearby attractions! There is ample parking space right outside the house. The rooms are extremely cozy and spacious. The owners are extremely nice, personable and always ready and willing to offer suggestions. The breakfast was outstanding especially the French toast stuffed with chocolate and banana on our last day! Yum!! they are extremely accommodating to allergies and food preferences! Amazing stay all around. Brad and Keith were excellent hosts providing us with loads of information regarding the town, the attractions and the B&B itself. However, the real winner here was the homemade breakfast. First day was peach croissant french toast and the second was a vegetable quiche. This was my first ever experience with a B&B and boy did I get lucky! If I could rate higher than 5 I would. I wanted to surprise my GF with a birthday weekend get-a-way. After doing A LOT, and I do mean A LOT, of research and trying to figure out the best B&B to book with, I finally decided on The Lancaster B&B. How did I get so lucky??? Brad & Keith were amazing. When we first arrived Keith was there to greet us. I immediately felt like I had arrived at a long time friends house. I couldn't have felt more welcomed. After a few short minutes Brad popped in and the conversation was so joyous and friendly. Keith showed us around the home then up to our room, which couldn't have been more perfect. Being a room in a converted attic space I was a bit nervous when I booked it. But as soon as we walked through the door I fell in love. The Fox Glove was the perfect room with so much space and a full en-suite. The best sleep I've had in a long time! Perfect in every way. Breakfast was AMAZING! Brad and Keith work hard to accommodate everyone's dietary needs, restrictions, likes and/or dislikes. As long as they know ahead of time you will be most satisfied. Brad's knowledge on diet and nutritional facts was outstanding. My GF said over and over again, "I'm moving in". Can not wait to book our next visit. One of the highlights of our weekend was the experience of joining a beautiful Amish family for dinner. This was my first experience with the Amish. This is a completely charming and professionally run bed and breakfast. The hosts strike a great balance between treating their guests as both houseguest and customers. They show great attention to detail and the food is excellent. I can't remember a better B & B experience. The only reason I have 4 stars is that it sits on the main road. Not a problem and I still recommend it, but that's the only negative. read more
