A lot of the original features had to he recreated. The common rooms downstairs are nicely done and are a great place to relax with a glass of wine. There are many windows that let in the light. If you play the piano, you are welcome to do so with the grand piano in the living room. The bedrooms are nice and comfortable, but lack the warm, inviting feeling of some other B&Bs. They could do more to make them less 'sterile.' Breakfast is what I would call "continental plus." There were croissants, breads, cookies, yogurt , granola, etc. They use real silverware rather than the stainless steel restaurant forks and knives. The B&B is right next to a busy street so road noise is always there. That's a general problem in Lancaster County. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but thought it was overpriced for what we got. For over $200, we should have gotten a full breakfast and a very cozy room.

Hospitality is all about the details and this place nailed it! From complimentary snacks to a great welcome book to even the nice touch on folding the end of the toilet paper, the owners took care of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We also weren't expecting the breakfast to be so fancy! It was like we were at a restaurant with appetizers, drinks, and a beautifully presented entree. Local yogurt, homemade granola, yummm... it was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here as we will definitely be back in the future!

Love the cozy house that we stayed at that had reading nooks, living room, working station, snacks, etc. The room we stayed at was called the Foxglove which is all the way up on the 3rd floor at the top of the stairs. It was very cozy with an electric fireplace and its own bathroom. It was very clean and felt like my own home. The best part was breakfast!! The juices, coffee, yogurt parfait, handmade chicken sausages...bomb!! I wish we could've enjoyed breakfast Sunday morning too but our flight left too early however Brad made us breakfast sandwiches to take to the airport!! Soooo sweet. They are the kindest, most thoughtful people and we had such great conversations with them during breakfast about everything - life, food recommendations, culture, travel, etc. They truly are amazing hosts. I would stay here over & over again. Thank you Brad & Keith for a great weekend!

But seriously, The room is perfect, the food was beyond my expectations (and I was trained to be a chef). I have nothing but good things to say about the property and owners, but it gets better. The area also FAR exceeded my expectations. Who knew there was so much to do in central PA? I was expecting to hit a few vineyards and chill out, but no, that turned into a go-go-go vacation. Lancaster (25 minutes away) is one of America's art meccas apparently. It also has the best French restaurant (Josephine's) I have ever been to (including France). This place was phenomenal from start to finish. We arrived on a Friday night after struggling through ridiculous New York City traffic. Despite our harried state we were instantly happy and relaxed when we arrived at Country Hearth. The owners, David and Bonnie are simply wonderful. They are gracious, friendly hosts who love to chat with their guests. The place was decked out for the holidays when we arrived. It looked and smelled fantastic and inviting. Our room was the Country Love Suite. It had a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, a big bedroom with a fireplace, and a sitting room....we were in love with it! The B&B is close to all the attractions in PA Dutch Country and is so peaceful. Bonnie made delicious breakfasts each morning and David offered us great tips on what to see and do during our visit. This is my favorite B&B experience yet. It was so hard to leave and I can' t wait to return!

Wayyyyy better than staying in one of the area hotels. Don and Ellen were extremely hospitable. They were able to accommodate our late check in time which we were very grateful of. They had snacks, coffee and tea 24/7 along with candy and games. The inn itself is very charming and I love all the decor. We stayed in the Sycamore room on the second floor. The bed was a little too soft for our liking but everything was super clean. They really thought of everything! The inn is within 10-15 min drive to all of the area attractions! The BEST part was the breakfast! Don was able to accommodate for dietary restrictions and the meals were delicious! Portions were large! We cannot wait to come back when we're in the area and will recommend to all of our friends and family!

We stayed in the Homestead Room which is one of the smaller rooms, and it was very comfortable and well furnished with shelves and hooks on which to hang things. The outside spaces are large and welcoming. The decor is very traditional and showcases primitive and farmhouse style throughout. The stairs are a bit steep, and there is some traffic noise as the inn is close to the road.
