Very warm, welcoming, and beautiful stay. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was delicious and filling. Morning chores were fun to help participate with and the place is very relaxing to enjoy.

1,000 stars for the farm apprentice tour! Annabelle was an informative and helpful guide. We milked a cow, saw some just born calves, gathered some chicken eggs, visited with the pigs and then ended with petting baby goats. I cannot wait to come back!

This was the most beautiful and peaceful mini vacation with my daughter. The room was quaint and the attached bathroom was spectacular. I wanted to take the shower home with me . The morning farm tour and chores was not just fun, but educational as well. After chores was a family style breakfast on the porch with all the guest. Food was amazing. We added on the s'more's package and had them with the family owners.

We had a phenomenal time here. We stayed for 3 nights at the little white cottage, which is about a one minute walk from the farmhouse where breakfast is. The room had its own window AC unit which worked well in the hot weather. It was raining and unexpectedly chilly on one of the days during our visit. Our room even had a electric fireplace which kept us warm and cozy. Breakfast is prepared by a nice Amish lady named Lydia. Due to coronavirus, breakfast is being served outside on their deck with tables spaced apart. We greatly enjoyed our breakfasts. The host Elisa and Pat are quite nice. They make a point of asking the guests to introduce themselves each morning. It was nice getting to know the other guests, for instance we met a grandmother and her grandson Jack, the latter who seemed to know the ins and outs of all things farm related including the type of dog Scooby was (the farm's well loved border collie). We did chores with the farm employees every morning. We were shown how to milk a cow. A newborn goat (farm employee told me these are called "kids") was born during our stay so we got to hold the baby goat. Another baby goat needed supplemental formula so we helped with this as well. I never knew female goats also had horns. The farm is close to many other local attractions: The Strasburg Railroad is less than two miles down the road; Sights and Sounds theater is close by as well. Lancaster City is a bit further (about 30 mins or more). The location worked out great for us. We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it to anyone.

First farm B&B my friend and I stayed at and would highly recommend. Got up and did some chores and too a tour of farm. Milked a cow, pet some goats, cats, their family dog, and cows. Meant the family at breakfast and they were so nice! Trey was excellent showing us around. Front house is closer to the road and other is back by the farm. Probably more suitable for kids.

Our room was comfortable and the house has a great common area. We all enjoyed the morning chores taking care of the farm animals. We couldn't tear our kids away from the goats who love to jump on your backs and play. The breakfast served was delicious and had options for everyone. We can't wait to go back!

If I could give more stars I would. Elisa and her farm crew truly offer an amazing and enriching farm experience. Rooms are immaculate and meticulously kept, farm property is beautiful and well maintained. Upon arriving at Verdant View Farm you are greeted by the stunning property and gorgeous view that seems to go on forever. The main house is beautiful with native flowers and plants blooming all around. The veranda (where breakfast is served daily) faces out to the farm where you can see cows grazing in the pasture and hear the subtle cluck of happy chickens. Morning chores are anything but chores! The farm crew offers the opportunity to learn first hand how to properly milk a cow, feed a part of their herd, look for chicken eggs, and answer any questions. After morning chores you wash up quick and sit down to a delicious home cooked breakfast on the veranda with all of the guests. Each morning the breakfast is different and is delicious as the next. Expecting a mini box of cereal with a small milk? No way. Be prepared to feed on pasture raised eggs, different types of sausage, home made yogurt and fruit, and of course a sweet pie or cake. After breakfast you are free to roam the beautiful property, shop in the farm store, and even revisit the animals. Like I said Elisa and her crew offer an amazing experience. You will not be disappointed.

Just an update. We grilled up the porterhouse and rib eye over the last few months. Because it's grass fed and fresh from farm, it's not like your supermarket meats. They are phenomenal and tasty! We only didn't like the beef breakfast sausage. Sorry Verdant View, I guess im a pig guy when it comes to my breakfast meats. I'll attest to the wonders your steaks are on the grill though (cooks faster and more thoroughly, and flavor 100x enhanced with charcoal).

We had a lovely time at this friendly and lovely family farm , bed-and-breakfast Charming, decor, home cooked delicious breakfast that came with dessert! We stayed in the White House, which was nice because we had access to a full kitchen and living space. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We were close by many things to do, and would highly recommend it.

Very comfortable bed and breakfast, on a working farm. We stayed in room 6 of the "little white house" with two comfortable full-size beds, A/C, full bath and use of a shared kitchen and living room. All very nice. From there a five minute walk to the main building for morning "chores" (i.e. taking a kid-friendly tour of some of the animals: feeding calves and goats, chasing chickens, etc), then a lovely communal breakfast with the hosts and the other guests. Really a nice place to stay, and convenient to the rest of the area.

Stayed at the bed & breakfast for a few nights in Nov and absolutely enjoyed our stay. The farm is beautiful and really let you be immersed in the quiet countryside experience. The morning chores were our favorite part interacting with all the cows, goats and chickens. The hosts were also very hospitable as we had breakfast with them and other guests each morning. The food was delicious homemade Pennsylvania Dutch food made by an Amish woman who cooked for us. Despite the circumstances with COVID, things flowed very smoothly while all safety cautions were met. Highly recommend!!

My family and I had the most amazing time at Verdant! The tour was phenomenal. Most of the kids we're willing to milk the cow, they all held chickens, and played with baby goats! This was absolutely our favorite part of our visit to Lancaster County! If you want to learn about regenerative farming and responsible agriculture or if you just want a pro-level petting zoo, there's something for everyone!

We really enjoyed our stay at VVF. My toddler and I stayed in the Little White House room 6 which was spacious and comfortable with good working Wifi. There is even a perfect sized rocking chair and picture window for a toddler. It also helped that there were two beds and a bath tub when traveling with kids. Things to be aware of: it's right on the main road so there is a lot of traffic noise (I'm a light sleeper so it did keep me awake but thankfully the kiddo slept through that). You can also hear the train but it doesn't run late at night. Also, you need to bring your own shampoo, I didn't realize that but I did have my son's baby shampoo so thankfully used that. It was great having a full kitchen and living room downstairs and while there are two other rooms that can be rented out, we were the only ones there at the time and had the whole house to ourselves. We loved doing the farm chores and visiting with the animals. Breakfast was great and there is so much to do in the area (Railroad museum, Strasburg Railroad, Choo Choo barn, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm). We had a blast and would recommend staying here.

Scooby in a moment of quite reflection :)

When we first got there, staff greeted us and let us know when the next train was leaving. I hadn't planned ahead to ride this time, but they also told us there's a park a little ways down that's included at no additional cost, which was a really nice option to have. From the parking lot at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, you can actually see the playground behind a fence across the street. Once we walked over, we just took our time looking at the trains up close, passing the shops, and letting the kids explore as we went. The playground isn't huge, but it works. It's not gated, but it's tucked in enough that I wasn't worried about my kids running off. The ground is tire shred (which I prefer over tan bark), and there's seating for adults nearby. Bathrooms are right by the playground, which makes a big difference with little kids. There's also a Thomas the Train LEGO display at the Toy Train Store (not too far from the playground) which my kids loved. Next time, I'll plan ahead to include the train ride, but this was still a really good visit.

I'd driven past it countless times over the last few years but either didn't have enough time to stop or couldn't convince anyone else to stop with me. During my Lancaster Adventure Day, though, all of that changed. I purchased a Single Scoop ticket online ahead of time for $16.75 and reserved the very first time slot of the day at 10am. I figured a late-summer Thursday morning would be the sweet spot, and it turned out to be a great decision. It was busy enough that the place felt lively but not so crowded that I had to wait for every exhibit. Parking was plentiful, and I somehow managed to snag a spot right in front of the GIANT cow out front. Honestly, my day was already off to a fantastic start! The only hiccup of the visit came during check-in. Even though I'd already purchased my ticket online, I still had to wait in the same line as everyone buying gift shop items, purchasing admission and asking questions. Since there were only a two employees working both the registers and admissions, the line moved a little slower than I expected. If I could change one thing, it would be creating a separate express check-in line for folks who already have tickets. Once I finally made it inside, though, everything became easy peasy! The exhibits are completely self-guided, so you can wander at your own pace learning how Turkey Hill makes its ice cream and iced tea while playing with interactive displays along the way. One of my favorite parts was creating my own virtual ice cream flavor, complete with custom packaging. I also wanted to film my own Turkey Hill commercial, but those stations stayed busy the entire time I was there, so that'll have to wait until another visit. Naturally, I made a beeline for the tea sampling station. As someone who appreciates sugar-free options, I was thrilled to find both Zero Sugar Sweet Tea and Zero Sugar Fruit Punch available to sample. Both were fantastic! Then it was time for the part we'd all been waiting for...unlimited ice cream samples. One thing I really appreciated is that they weren't tiny little "blink and it's gone" samples. You picked two flavors, and they served actual scoops in a bowl. For an attraction centered around ice cream, that felt exactly right. My only tiny complaint? Wooden popsicle sticks instead of spoons. They definitely got the job done, but they made eating melting ice cream a little more awkward than it needed to be. Still...free and unlimited ice cream? I'm not about to complain too loudly! I spent about an hour wandering through the exhibits, playing with the interactive displays and enjoying the air conditioning on a hot August morning before making one final stop in the gift shop. Prices there were about what you'd expect for a tourist attraction, but there were plenty of fun souvenirs if you're looking to bring a little Turkey Hill home with you. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend visiting the Turkey Hill Experience at least once. I don't know that it's somewhere I'd return over and over again, but it was a fun, interactive way to spend an hour learning something new, eating entirely acceptable quantities of free ice cream and escaping the August heat. That sounds like a pretty successful adventure day to me!

However what they put us on was the regular Armish farm fun $22 per person for 1 hour. The difference is the combo one includes gardening and barrel train ride. But anyway, we realized it as the tour ended after one hour. We didn't bring it up since my children actually wanted to leave because of the hot summer heat. I will recommend the $22 basic tour. It was packed with action and after one hour, my kids had enough of the farm ( we also visited the miniature horse farm next door before this) and long for AC. The tour started with a hayride around the farm, about 8 min ride. Then we went indoor at the animal barns to cuddle: chicken, ducklings, bunnies, kittens, piglets , feed Cheetos to pigs and watch them go down the slides, bottle feed the cows, milk a cow and collect eggs ( pick one up and put in a basket). It was fulled of actions. Strongly recommended this $22 basic farm tour. I think they didn't realize our whole group was waiting. I ended up going up and found someone who managed to find one of the Amish women to give us a tour. On the tour, you'll see baby animals, feed the horses, bottle feed a calf, see baby chicks, and pigs. Then at the end, you can reach under chickens and pull out eggs from the nest. My kids could have stayed here all day. They also have a playground on site, tricycles, and a little shop where you can buy dairy products. Definitely worth a stop here!
