I would give this company another try. We happen to get on the last buggy ride of the day. We only got to ride to the end of the road and back to the starting area. Our horse named Molly was old and did not quite have the stamina of other horses. Our driver was extremely friendly and let a set of brothers take turns driving under his supervision. Overall it was a good experience.

A great time and break from hectic NJ living! We chose the cheapest package (there are four) at $12/pp. because we simply wanted the experience - I've been wanting to go on a horse and buggy ride for YEARS, but never looked into the logistics. Put your name in, then wait for your departure time. CASH ONLY ! We had an hour one, so we went exploring on their grounds - a cute petting zoo, motel front desk with gift shop, and some houses (maybe staff live there?). As we were thinking, the many colorful cabooses are actually motel rooms to rent out! SO COOL! Our guide was cute, funny, informative, and just what you'd expect from a "real" Amish person. We stopped at a small local family farm. Home baked goodies were offered for a modest cost. Amish girls conducting short rides for children on adorable miniature horses were going on - OMG the utter cuteness!!! The ride was blissful, and seemed like a world away. Probably 20 minutes tops. We're going back in the spring with the kids for another ride, and will probably rent a caboose (2 night minimum). I highly recommend this whole place!!!

When you're in Lancaster Pennsylvania, buggy ride is a must. It makes you appreciate Amish country a lot more, Getting the buggy ride at the Red Caboose Motel and has all different prices, if you do the $25 takes you on a 25 min ride to get some whoopie pies and some of the best and most delicious Linda's lemonade and Linda's root beer you will ever get. At $1.25 a bottle. Wish I would have got more. It's a great ride. And learn history by how the Amish live. While you are waiting to get on the buggy ride. Check out the petting zoo and wait for the Stroudsburg Railroad train to come by.... Prices vary on the size of the buggy you want and have to sign in and wait. For the next available ride.

Crossed "Amish Buggy Ride" off my bucket list. I've always been obsessed with the Amish, so when my wife and I was passing through the Lancaster area we just had to stop. The buggy ride was nice. The driver was informative and very comfortable answering any questions myself and the other passengers had. The ride ended at a small Amish stand were we could buy Amish made goods. We bought their homemade root beer, potato chips, and cheese. Delicious!!! If you're in the area, I'd advise you to check it out.

It is right at the hotel we stayed-- red caboose motel. Got coupon for BOGO adult ride from hotel. Under 2 yrs is free. 10-5 pm. No reservation. First come first serve. We signed up at 10:05 and got on a buggy on 10:45 am. We wanted the 35 min tour but they no longer offered it. Took the 25 min instead. We stopped for a minute for local bakery shopping. We didn't have to get off. An Amish young lady held up a tray of goodies to us. It's of course optional to buy. They packed the buggy tight. We had to put our 2 yrs old on our lap to make room. Like other reviews stated, the Amish guide sat in front and talked facing forward. Unless you sit up front, you really can't hear what was he saying. There was a sign saying ' gratuity accepted ' on the buggy. So you know what to do. Conclusion: price is fair. Competitive. Good for the riding experience but really didn't learn much about Amish culture since I couldn't hear what the guide said.

When we first got there, staff greeted us and let us know when the next train was leaving. I hadn't planned ahead to ride this time, but they also told us there's a park a little ways down that's included at no additional cost, which was a really nice option to have. From the parking lot at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, you can actually see the playground behind a fence across the street. Once we walked over, we just took our time looking at the trains up close, passing the shops, and letting the kids explore as we went. The playground isn't huge, but it works. It's not gated, but it's tucked in enough that I wasn't worried about my kids running off. The ground is tire shred (which I prefer over tan bark), and there's seating for adults nearby. Bathrooms are right by the playground, which makes a big difference with little kids. There's also a Thomas the Train LEGO display at the Toy Train Store (not too far from the playground) which my kids loved. Next time, I'll plan ahead to include the train ride, but this was still a really good visit.

A man sitting nearby suddenly yelled at her that she wasn't allowed on the stage. My mom and sister apologized right away, but I jokingly said to my sister, "He probably doesn't even work here." The man immediately jumped into the conversation with an attitude and said, "I actually do work here." The whole interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive from the start. He was dressed in plain clothes with no name tag, uniform, or anything showing he worked there, so there was no clear way for visitors to know he was staff or that the stage was off limits. The situation could have been handled much more politely and professionally. Because of that experience, I honestly wouldn't come back. I also wanted to quickly add that if there was a sign, we did not see it.

Admission was only $10, and we spent a solid 2.5 hours wandering through--even as total non-train buffs. Train lovers could easily make a full day of it. Staff were friendly, and volunteers were spread throughout the museum to answer questions and share fun facts about the trains, which made the visit even better. Just inside the entrance is a well-stocked gift shop with tons of novelty items and unique finds--definitely worth a peek before you head out. Beyond the trains, there are interactive exhibits--Legos, a mini town with history lessons, and even dress-up spots for kids. It's very family-friendly, but smaller kids may lose steam (pun intended ) walking the long rows of cars. Overall? This was a fun, different, history-packed experience that was absolutely worth the ticket price. I don't know that I need to go back, but I'm really glad I went once!
