Oh my goodness, this place is so darling. This is the kind of place that reminds you why it's SO…read moreworthwhile staying at small, independent spots and avoiding the big chain hotels. Everything was so thoughtfully executed and I was so pleased with my stay. I was originally going to stay 1 night, and was so happy to extend to a second night (as I called the front desk to ask, while I sat in bed with my breakfast, hoping my room was available for an extra day lol). Some logistics: -you do self check-in - they keep a packet with your keys and lots of information outside their side door. It's a very small and safe town, so I assume this hasn't been a problem in the past. But that was hard to wrap my head around as someone who has mainly lived in big cities. -I don't know if there's generally no front desk person or just not when I passed by, but they're very responsive by phone and text, so it really wasn't an issue not having someone around -breakfast is included with each morning -i did not take advantage of any of the spa services, so i can't comment on that Ok and now some highlights! -everyone I spoke with was so kind! Great folks working there. -bed was comfy -Beekman 1802 toiletries -I was pleased to find out that the very old-seeming tv had smart tv capabilities, and a prior guest had not logged out of their HBO account, so I had a couple nights of great tv lol (everything closes early in the town! But I also love tv in a hotel bed). -charming rocking chairs on the front porch. Bring a beverage and watch the buggies pass by. -the town is very quiet, and I found the inn very quiet as well (despite it being a creaky old building - I've def had issues in other b&b's where I can hear everything from the room above bc creaky floors and thin walls). My room faced the street, so I could hear the buggies passing in the evening (which was a total novelty to me and I *loved* it lol), but I think a light sleeper would do well here even with the buggies. -THE BREAKFAST!!! Wow it was great. You get a paper where you check off what you want and leave it in the dining room the night before. I did room service for both mornings and loved it. On the second morning, I really wanted to try the sweet option (waffles with fruit), but needed a protein, so I asked on the form if they could add some eggs - not only did they do that, but they just added the whole other savory breakfast option (eggs and bacon) to my plate. The hearty breakfast was so satisfying. Thank you! -as a late night snacker, I was pleased to find fresh baked brownie squares, pretzel sticks and candy both downstairs and in the little hangout room on the second floor. Also many soda can options and water bottles. -easy parking on site -the check-in packet had multiple pages they put together with recommendations, including a dedicated list for what's open on Sundays. I usually don't really take note of hotel recommendations - I kinda assume they're either main tourist spots I already know of or are places that reached out for advertising - but the documents were genuinely so helpful. I got in late my first night and was able to plan my whole stay based on those papers. -tip: check for promotions on the inn's website! They had a couple going on that I could choose between - either a decent discount on the hotel rate or a ($30 or $50, I forget) gift card to the big shopping area across the street. One minor note- The hair dryer barely worked - it wasn't really hot and had low air flow. So I recommend bringing your own hair dryer (and for the hotel to replace it). I definitely recommend!

We chose to stay here due to proximity to Sight and Sound since we were coming to see a…read moreperformance. After the show was over, we went out to eat then made our way here. Parking is in the back. No one was in sight. We were confused for just a few moments - there's a telephone outside and it says to dial "3" for the innkeeper. I was just reaching out to do that when I noticed a manilla envelope that had our last name and first initials on it which gave instructions on which rooms we were assigned, contained the key cards, and a card with the choice of breakfast for the next morning which you fill out and leave in the dining room. There is great attention to detail at this inn and a great deal of amenities which is nice. The dining room, which is not locked, has a mini fridge stocked with water bottles and sodas. A sitting area near the front had a glass case of brownies. There's obviously an unspoken honor policy as well because there is an unlocked stand full of various souvenirs one can purchase such as candles in another sitting area as well. On the second floor, there's a coffee bar with a Keurig and K cups, a small sitting area, another mini fridge with bottled water and sodas and a jar of pretzels and another with cookies. The bathroom is also stocked with two additional bottles of water not to mention a nice assortment of toiletries, and even cotton balls and cue tips. There is even a piece of chocolate on each side of the bed. I found these little touches wonderful for enhancing our experience. I was afraid we'd have to look, like, behind the bed to find an outlet but they provided some accessible outlets and USB charging strips on the nightstand. Another bonus. Breakfast which is from 8-10 AM, is quite delicious. They ran out of orange juice though and didn't refill this so I didn't know if that was due to oversight or to save money but apart from that, I was satisfied with their selection. One drawback which others also mentioned is that the shower quite slippery so I think a non slip mat would go a long way. It also took a while for the hot water in the shower to get warm but it did eventually and the water pressure was very good. I also appreciated that the bathroom had a fan/vent since not all old fashioned inns do. The inn is an easy walking distance from the Kitchen Kettle Village. Unfortunately there's not an easy way to cross the street due to lack of a crosswalk so that was a bit of a snag. We ended up walking further down the street to a traffic light where there was a crosswalk. Overall, our stay here was wonderful and I appreciated the attention to details which greatly enhanced our experience. I would love to come back again.

Fresh cream with yogurt and granola, fresh bread, butter, farm fresh eggs, baked oatmeal and fresh milk. There are lots of small shops in and around the town. Kerig, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge all there. It's a simple set up. There is electricity (though two of the lights did not work when we were there so the kitchen was quite dim), a wall unit for AC and heat. No wifi. As the wall unit is in the living room/kitchen, the bedrooms can get stuffy. There are fans in the bedrooms but that's something to be mindful of. Anna brings breakfast between 8-8:30 in the mornings on all days except Sundays. Breakfast consists of yogurt parfait, homemade bread, and marmalade and butter. Anna did bring us some eggs (have to cook them yourself) and orange juice. We didn't have too much interaction apart from that with the family. Anna said they wake up at 5 AM to start farm chores (yikes!!). While we had an overall nice experience, we did spot some creepy crawlers around. Not mice or roaches or anything like that but there are plenty of cobwebs that could use a good dusting and small spiders so either be okay with that or don't look up at the ceiling or at corners. Just subtracting one star for that. Otherwise we had a good time here.

Today it was yogurt with fresh strawberries and granola, an egg soufflé with local bacon and hash browns. There was dessert: warm rhubarb coffee cake- everything was delicious, homemade and locally sourced! Our room had an en suite bathroom and it was well stocked with local goats milk soap, and shampoo bar! There is an AC in the room so you can sleep comfortably. Plenty of blankets were provided and the sheets and towels were all nice and clean. Towels were plush. Lots of places outside to just sit and watch the world go by. We saw plenty of local Amish all around and everyone was so friendly to us! Great place to have a get-away and some peace!

The hosts are very welcoming, helpful and obviously very proud of what they have accomplished and what they offer. The B&B is clean, neat, well organizes and charming. The breakfasts were very well prepared and delicious. It is also nice when the hosts can tell you the names of the farmers, meat vendors and dairy farms where they buy their food. The location is perfect, close to everywhere. And, one final very nice touch, when we were at the breakfast table on our second day, their 13 year old daughter, a cellist, offered to play music for us, and performed wonderfully. I think her comfort with doing this this is especially impressive. I would, and will, enthusiastically recommend this B&B to my family, friends and anyone else visiting the area.
