It once had a jacuzzi but it was removed and the renovated to a crisper atmosphere with a small heater fireplace. I really liked sitting there to do crafty stuff but a great place to read as well. There was a two seater couch. The room next door can be a connection for an extended family. The bathroom had a small stand in shower with slender narrow walls. They have the standard amenities with hair dryer. The bedding was very cozy and had a heating controlled for each side. I was so warm all night and it didnt bother my husband's side. There is also a television and a chair with a dresser. Parking was no issue since they have their own lot. Outside is a nice wrap around porch and they have free water, cookies and wine any time of day. Breakfast was around 830/9 and the owners were chatty friendly folks. They know the area extremely well and can tell you pretty much anything from where to eat or hidden gems. They were especially kind people. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend if you're in the Lancaster area.

The breakfast was amazing starting with an extra creamy yogurt parfait with blueberries and granola and then continued with an out of this world quiche, pork sausage, delicious roasted potatoes and then finishing it off with a decadent scone. They offered every type of juice imaginable. The location was convenient to downtown Lancaster (where we were headed the next day). Each room is decorated with a variety of Victorian furniture and named after something musical. This is the place where we discovered their very yummy hot apple cider! Breakfast was filling and yummy. I believe we had French Toast with a size of fresh fruits and tea/coffee. We usually come up to Lancaster to go to our favorite restaurant there, Dienner's Country Restaurant. While we were here, we also got a chance to visit Jennie's Diner, conveniently located right across the street. There are no TVs in the rooms, but we enjoyed that idea it gave us a more intimate setting. We ended up playing cards and with the chess set available in the nicely decorated living room (we were there during Christmas time). They were kind enough to take some pictures for us near the fireplace and Christmas tree. This time, like others, we went In December, and was able to enjoy our short time here. We were greeted warmly by Tim and Heidi again. I even got to enjoy some hot apple cider at breakfast! We enjoyed our time here and hope to visit again soon! :)

This is a stately old mansion built in 1870 by a family of tanners (leather workers). It…read moreeventually fell into ruin and two investors from New York bought it and restored it. A lot of the original features had to he recreated. The common rooms downstairs are nicely done and are a great place to relax with a glass of wine. There are many windows that let in the light. If you play the piano, you are welcome to do so with the grand piano in the living room. The bedrooms are nice and comfortable, but lack the warm, inviting feeling of some other B&Bs. They could do more to make them less 'sterile.' Breakfast is what I would call "continental plus." There were croissants, breads, cookies, yogurt , granola, etc. They use real silverware rather than the stainless steel restaurant forks and knives. The B&B is right next to a busy street so road noise is always there. That's a general problem in Lancaster County. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but thought it was overpriced for what we got. For over $200, we should have gotten a full breakfast and a very cozy room.

My spouse has excellent taste in sight-unseen lodging, so his task was to pick somewhere not too far away but memorable. He was taken by the library images and the many shelves of books. Hollinger House was a B&B for many years under previous ownership but has been completely renovated and recently reopened. A weekday stay here (at a Select Registry B&B, not too many of these in the whole country) is priced incredibly at $100 a night, and you can pick any of the rooms, which are different rates on the weekends. The 1860 mansion farmhouse sits on the grounds of a long-gone tannery that was commissioned to make products for the Civil War. Hollinger House is just off the main road in a valley only a few miles straight south of Lancaster (which has Uber if you don't feel like driving even that far). Because of the off-time of the year, we had the whole house to ourselves, including the grand piano which we were encouraged to play -- and did, not too late, I swear! In all rooms is a book detailing the incredible story of how the owner (who is gorgeous and looks like a young Dorothy Parker) acquired and renovated the house, but even with this, I could not stop asking her questions. One incredible thing I have never seen before is the charging station for electric cars, including even Tesla. Nice to see such forward thinking. She is also expert at accommodating food preferences, and I spotted several vegan cookbooks in her kitchen. We are usually made to feel like a pain at B&Bs and have to make do with black coffee and fruit as everyone else gets a feast, but not here! Linda is known for her vegan scrambles and pumpkln French toast, so expect to get one of the best breakfasts you have ever had in a B&B. She is very knowledgeable of gluten free too. She is also heavily involved in the Lancaster scene and knows a lot about its redevelopment, so she has great advice on where to eat. We were there because of the new comfort food pub Root and also the Seed and found plenty more to do. Hollinger will be hosting all sorts of events in the future, so we will be keeping an eye on them and can't wait to return.

She added central heat and air around three years ago. The B&B was built in 1909 and was used as a single family home until converted. The rooms and common areas still reflect the ambience of a family home. In the bathroom, everything works as it should. The beds are comfortable. Beth has improved her cooking and the breakfasts are now excellent. She will surprise you with some of her creations. If there is a downside, it's the noise coming from the street and the schools next door. However, that will be an issue in most places in Lancaster County. Overall, this is a great place to stay.

Upon our arrival we were giving a tour of the main house, and shown were we had reserved to stay. It was quaint but like a little log cabin. Our bathroom had been given fresh linen and a basket on a small table had been filled with snacks. The room was very clean and warm. Warmth was needed since we were there in the fall and it was quite cool and windy. When you arrive you will agree on a breakfast time. In the morning you will arrive and be invited into their dining room, where they will equip you with tea, coffee, hot chocolate or even chocolate milk while you wait for breakfast to be finished cooking. Steve and Jamie cook everything fresh in their kitchen. Their food is divine...and if you love it as much as I know you will, then will give you a recipe to take home at the end of your trip. As you talk about your day, the innkeepers Steve and Jamie will sit and talk with you, but never neglecting putting more delicious food on your plate and filling your drinks. I promise you this is one breakfast table you won't get up feeling hungry from. Steve is very helpful in giving directions and giving you maps and brochures to destinations in the area. He is also good at giving you coupons to save money. The main house has a community room filled with books and movies for your watching enjoyment. There is also a small refrigerator always stocked with beverages of water and soda for the guest. We had such a pleasurable stay, I would definitely recommend Apple Bin Inn if you are going to Lancaster for business or for pleasure, Steve and Jamie will treat you right!!

The shared living room has comfortable couches and bookshelves full of books. The dining is also charming - very homey, with lots of country charm. I can't remember the name of my room, but it was a gorgeous suite. My bedroom had beautiful furniture (a comfortable bed, a dresser, and a desk), and my little den had a TV and a couch (where I read my book for a bit in the evening). The bathroom had everything I needed and was spacious. There was plenty of parking for guests, and the grounds are beautiful. If it hadn't stormed when I visited, I would have loved to read my book on the grounds. The breakfast in the morning was delicious (a yogurt parfait, some stuffed French toast, some bacon wrapped sausage, and coffee), and the service throughout was very friendly and helpful. The location was great; you're only a 10-minute drive from Lancaster and just a few minutes away from attractions in and near Willow Street (1719 Museum and Historic Rock Ford). My only little hiccup is that no one was at the house when I arrived to check in. I rang the doorbell several times before realizing that wasn't going anywhere. I called the number of the website and someone answered the second time. Once they realized the situation, someone arrived quickly and checked me in - it really wasn't a very big deal!
