After a disappointing visit to Tap Lighting in Hillcrest (q.v.), I was directed to this store, and after a phone call to verify that it carried what I was looking for, I checked it out. This is a well-stocked store that has just about any lampshade for your need. Shades in every shape imaginable! Plus, a beautiful array of finials pretty enough to make into jewelry. I was greeted by Kelly, the owner/manager, who grew up in this business, helping her parents. She was kind, and generous with her time, showing me several lampshades for my old lamp, and offering several, good suggestions along the way. I took in an old quan yin statute from the 1950s and asked them to make a lamp for me. they picked out the base, shade and finial, which were perfect. when i got the finished lamp, it was amazing, i love it. they did such a great job, i called them to tell them how happy I was. It did take a while, but it was worth every second, and they explained to me the process. i would not hesitate to visit them again! read more

I never leave reviews, but I felt compelled to write this as I was just there for the third time and was treated very rudely, again. I read a review that said they were "moody", and that just about sums it up. Worst costumer service, they make you feel like they're doing you a favor, and on top of everything the job was not even done well. Save your money AND TIME, and go somewhere else. read more

This is a ma and pa shop seemingly without much help from professionals. Our antique hanging ceiling solid brass fixture went into their shop about early July 2016. It needed to be rewired. The shop said "fine," we do that kind of work. Then we did not hear from them, and we called early August. They had not even touched it and displayed an attitude. Then a few more phone calls made by us, and finally they had taken our lamp apart and found they had to send it somewhere else. When I called to see what's what, I got the daughter who was snippy full of attitude and told me again the owner/father "couldn't do it." I tried to discuss with her that her father had told me he would be "sending it out." That same day we found an angry message on our phone by the owner saying he refused to work with us, any longer and to pick up the lamp, period. When we picked it up, it was in a paper bag in pieces (and it still is). This is no way to do business, in my opinion. so watch out! We would have preferred to not give this shop ANY stars. M. Took antique lamps into shop. The lady at the counter was so rude and cranky. She said she had a pair of these before and hoped she would never see them again. She said they needed to go to a welder because the nut and bolt were metric and impossible to get. She would not give us an estimate but said they charge $50 an hour and the last pair took 20 hours! I took them home and my husband fixed them in 2 hours. The bolt was not metric, they did not need welding. She was a bit shifty to say the least read more

If you're looking for any type of lampshade you can find it here - they have an amazing selection! The options are so vast you can find something to match pretty much any style decor you have. I was actually looking for something very specific to coordinate with my new living room and the owner told me she could custom make it for me using the fabric I loved (I didn't even know you could do that). She was very friendly and upfront on timing and costs. I'm so glad I found this place and will definitely head back when I move on to decorating the next room in my house in a few months. read more

The Lampshade Gallery has fixed several lamps for me and I was able to get custom shades that I couldn't find anywhere else. As the previous poster mentioned they are very knowledgeable but I've never had anything but friendly service. The store can get busy and they're closed Mondays but you won't find this selection anywhere else in San Diego. read more

Another visit to the store left me as pleased as could be! The service was professional; the work needed to repair a very nice lamp was done perfectly.
