Avocado toast
Allison P.

I mean, it's a concept by Relish so of course it's amazing. Service was super friendly and prompt. I was blown away by the size and taste of the avocado toast and cheese grits. The kids waffle with berries was also legit and my kiddo ate it all. Parking is easy and there's indoor and covered outdoor seating with board games! Definitely on my return list.

Bagel and lox and Huevos Rancheros
Raven W.

We ordered bagel and lox as well as huevos rancheros and scrambled eggs. The bagel and lox left much to be desired in taste/texture/quality. But was overall decent. The huevos rancheros were tasty as far as the tostada and beans go. I just wish they gave way more beans because as you can see it's only a little bit. Granted, I ordered huevos rancheros without the dairy (cheese and crema) but it was supposed to come with avocados, and as you see no avocado. No worries because it was still pretty tasty. The pico needs work, tastes too tomato forward, not really getting the onion or peppers. The bacon here is really good, I also ordered a side of that (not pictured here unfortunately). We also ordered drinks. The mimosa is a pretty normal mimosa, typical. I ordered the Hive drink on the cocktail menu and it came with a real piece of honey comb which I thought was a pretty sweet touch. I also enjoyed eating the honeycomb after finishing the drink. I messed up and also ordered some blueberry drink on the menu and it was too sweet for me, which I didn't really care for. We also loved the gaming atmosphere, we love playing board games and they have a ton of mainstream and not so mainstream/unique board games and card games which was super entertaining. The service was great, our waitress was super attentive and even had some board game recommendations. Overall I really enjoyed this space, so I'll definitely be back... but I would order something else to eat on the menu next time.

Paper Plane Cocktail

Saturdays are better with fun brunch options. Add a covered patio and you have a fun place to dine with friends and family. I started with the Paper Plane(s, Trains, & Automobiles). It was a great way to have some bourbon on a warm day and the plane on the side was a fun way to serve it. The cocktail was a nice complement to our great meals. The waffle Monte cristo was a great take on the classic sandwich. Having the jam in the middle and syrup on top was a great mix of flavors. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza. Eggs, sausage, and cheese on a waffle was awesome and the hot honey brought it all together. The staff was friendly and our server ensured our glasses stayed full. We were passing through Raleigh and I am thrilled we decided to eat here. I can't wait to return soon!

Buffalo wrap and chili mac and cheese
Jillian S.

TLDR: Excellent place for a delicious meal at a reasonable price. Easy online ordering. Curbside pick-up no longer available. We have dined at Relish before and had a good experience. This time we chose to order takeout from the Kitchen Table at Relish. We were equally impressed by this meal. We ordered online the Buffalo wrap and chili mac and cheese. The meal was ready on time and reasonably priced. An employee greeted us upon arrival and handed us the order. All of the items tasted great and were portioned well. I know the chili mac and cheese sounds strange but it did taste really good. The Kitchen Table is located beside Relish. It has a takeout counter, additional dining area, and emphasizes biscuits, brews, and board games. Overall, we had a good experience here and recommend this restaurant to others!

Breakfast Pizza

I chose The Kitchen Table at Relish on a lovely Saturday afternoon for a solo brunch. It wasn't too busy, but I chose to sit at the bar. The host brought me water and menus as soon as I sat down. I asked for his food suggestions and he shared with me his favorites along with the new menu items. The bartender took my order, the breakfast pizza. I didn't order a drink because I had just donated blood and needed to only drink water :(. They have some really cool drinks and menu items. The breakfast pizza is four waffle pieces, with scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage crumbles and drizzled with hot honey. My food came out pretty quickly. The waffles were a little over cooked, almost burnt, but tasty. The toppings were very good, the hot honey added something I wouldn't have thought. Rather tasty. I really like the ambiance of The Kitchen Table. It's comfortable, yet cute. There's indoor and outdoor seating, booths and tables. The service was good.

We went to the kitchen table at relish last night for a double date. This place is really cool. The food is amazing and the service is friendly. Plus there's an entire library of floor to ceiling bookshelves of board games. They even have a kids section so there's really something for everyone here! I ordered the Reuben which was fantastic. My husband got the cod and fries/fish and chips and he really enjoyed it. We got nuggets and fries for my daughter which is pretty standard. Our friends got the grilled cheese for their daughter, braised short rib, and a blt? Oh and the flash fried broccoli. They all thought the food was amazing. The only downside is there were a lot of flies at our table! There's indoor and outdoor seating and they sell vegan desserts behind the counter. I think they were selling candles or something at the front too? And the employees seemed more than happy to explain to customers how to play games. Cool place!

Monte Cristo and side salad
Kristi W.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast/brunch and was greeted immediately. You seat yourself anywhere, and there is even a heated patio area available. I chose to go with the monte Cristo and a side salad w/a creamy balsamic dressing. The sandwich was soooo delish and the flavors mended so well w/being on a waffle. The side salad was equally good, as well. Service was fast, and pricing was reasonable, especially given so much food. I would definitely visit again the next time that I'm in town!

Pastrami Reuben

I visited solo on a Wednesday evening around 6:30 and a good number of tables were full because of various parties. I sat at the bar and pulled out my book. The server was attentive and friendly, and the bartender checked in on me. They had 3-4 craft beers on draft from what I could see. Food came out in around 8 minutes, not bad. The Reuben was delicious, yet greasy enough to ask for another round of napkins. The side salad with goat cheese and a balsamic vinegar was really good. The side of cheese grits I added were also tasty. All in all, not bad. It would be a little pricey with an entire family or doing brunch and a couple drinks, so take that how you will. Enjoyed the food!

Food was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. The home feel ambiance was cozy. If you like playing board games with some friends this is the place for you. They have games to rent to play for up to 2 hours a table.

Salted Caramel Expresso Martini. Beautiful presentation by Zack

Relish is one of my favorite area restaurants in the Crabtree-Glenwood Station neighborhood. I have never had a poor experience ever. I finally checked off the brunch experience at their sister cafe/bar, The Kitchen Table. Located conveniently next door to Relish, is KT. I read about the vintage board game experience and wanted to check out brunch for myself. A friend and I visited around noon and we were seated immediately by a nice young gentleman and comfortably inside at a booth towards the bar. I enjoy the vintage-country charm of this cafe. Our waitress arrived to greet us immediately and we decided on the Special Caramel Expresso Martini. These were made perfectly. We then decided on shrimp & grits and the montecristo for entrees. Our entrees came out very quickly. I asked that my waffle be cooked to a crisp and the cook delivered. I do not enjoy soggy waffles. I paired my dish with cheese grits. I felt the dishes were good but nothing blew me away. What I did enjoy the most here were the cocktails !!!!! We had to relocate to the bar due to the air conditioner leaking water over my seat and onto the booth from condensation. This was the best thing to happen to us. Zack is the bartender and he was such a wonderful host. He makes inspiring cocktails and is a mad scientist with his creations as well as a great conversationalist. I wanted to try Elijah Craig bourbon for the first time and he made an Apple Butter Bourbon fizz with delicious ginger, this was excellent!!!! We chatted about the Tepuy donuts that they serve on weekends from the famous Tepuy shop. I look forward to visiting for dinner and more of Zack's creative cocktails. We did not play any games this visit, but I intend to next visit and love that it's an option. The southern hospitality was much appreciated.

On my visit here in Raleigh, I was able to enjoy brunch at this cozy place, I first noticed the wide variety of board games that you can enjoy while you wait I'm impressed with the game selection. NOW, on to the food the shrimp and grits were filling with bits of sausage and gravy. The biscuits and gravy was delicious I would have enjoyed more sausage in the gravy, the fruit was very fresh and delicious. Great place for brunch or lunch or any occasion to have a great meal!

Rodney T.

Great atmosphere and the service is great. The food was good ( could use more gravy on the biscuits and gravy). The game selection is vast.

A great place to have fun with good and board games! This place is next door to the Relish Kitchen and Bourbon Bar. They have signs to direct you in case you get lost. As you enter, there's plenty of open seating inside and outside (with heat lamps). And all the games are located in the back. There wasn't anyone there to recommend games so we opted for the games we were most familiar with. There is a $5 table fee to play for up to 6 players. However, there are 4-6 games available that are free to play. The games are organized by level of difficulty and number of players required. There are many options for everyone! We didn't end up ordering any food but they have a full menu and bar. Def a spot worth checking out!

The North Hills spot ( 4421 Six Forks Road in Raleigh, beside Total Wine) feels settled in the best way. Comfortable, Welcoming, Cozy. We started slowly. A wine flight. The kinds of plates you keep reaching for without realizing it. For dinner, we had the the NY Strip (North Carolina pasture-raised Angus with Diane sauce and a French onion potato gratin). And the roasted whole fish (with hazelnut gremolata, citrus beurre blanc, and confit sunchoke). Both cooked to perfection, nothing missing, and absolutely delicious. The business was clean and there is also a bar inside. The restaurant has a large selection of wines and offers flights for purchase. The restaurant had some people dining in but they were not overly packed. Initially our server was pleasant and attentive. I got a blood orange sparkling water. It was ok. I ordered the whipped ricotta for an appetizer to share and a burger with fries for my entree. The whipped ricotta was ok. It would taste better with some sort of seasoning in it. My fries were served hot but needed some salt. I asked for my burger to be cooked well done but I was brought a burnt burger. I took one bite but it was too overcooked. I then requested that my server have my burger be cooked medium well so I didn't get another burnt burger. When my burger was brought back out, our server had me cut into my burger to make sure it was to my liking. The preparation was better but it was bland and tasted like there wasn't any seasoning on it. After this our server wasn't as attentive anymore. For dessert we got the donuts. They were served warm and I enjoyed them with the cherry sauce. I did not like the chocolate sauce that was served with the donuts.

Wife and I started our quick little anniversary getaway here, and they nailed it. The place itself is gorgeous. Huge patio with greenery, baller bar area in the middle of the upscale open space, which gives a modern and chic vibe. That problem I mentioned? Deciding what we were going to order off of the amazingly stacked tapas menu. One sounded better than the other, plates coming out to the left and right of us...we were deer in headlights not knowing what to do, words didn't come out when our friendly and knowledgeable server came by. As far as problems go at a restaurant, I guess it could have been worse. With helpful guidance and knowing our love for anything foodie related, we just started picking one by one after a few sips of our well balanced cocktails (another large menu with anything and everything for fellow cocktail lovers out there). Had to go with a meat and charcuterie board first. A decadent manchego, a creamy French that was smooth and tangy, plus a 20 month cured ham that was salty and smoky. Honestly everything that came out after was a 10/10. From the wild mushrooms, Wagyu carpaccio and bone marrow, to the pork belly, corn bunuelos and steak paillard...everything was cooked to perfection with amazing spices and sauces that complemented each dish perfectly. (See pics and captions for more details) These chefs and mixologists know what they're doing here. 2 managers came by our table to make sure everything was going well. Top notch service, top shelf food and drink, modern and upscale decor and vibe. A perfect concoction for a special night out with family or friends.

The ambiance is dark and nice for couples or friends. The booths at the bar are not the most comfortable, so I prefer a table. The tapas are those you find at a traditional Spanish tapas place. The papas being amongst the most popular are a good staple. The charcuterie is also very nice. The other tapas can be hit or miss depending on what is seasonally offered. On this visit, I wanted Brussels sprouts but they were no longer on the menu and the lamb was not a bone in lamb but rather ground meatballs. Not bad, just not what I expected. It's not a place I seek out to come, but it's solid food and drinks that fills a need when I want a late bite.
