The Kitchen Shop LLC owned by Elise Marchese is a fraud. We spent lots of money and the cabinets are just terrible. She refuses to honor the "Lifetime Warranty" promised on her website. The cabinet are warped, mismeasured and corky. She ignores my emails and will not give me materials I paid for. She still owes me doors, hardware and side panels. Just built my dream house and the kitchen shop made my kitchen and bathroom epic!! The work they do is just amazing. My kitchen was a small space and I really could not figure out how to put a full chefs kitchen in this space. Elise laid out the space and made the room so much bigger. She really helped me focus all my ideas and wants into the perfect space. It's been a year and I'm still obsessed with the kitchen. Elise was an invaluable resource to us when we redid our kitchen in Manhattan. The best part about working with Elise was her 'can-do' attitude. Any time we brought up a new issue or changed our minds about an existing design (it happens!), she jumped right into problem-solving mode. She took the stress out of what is generally a very stressful project. A few services Elise provided us: - She came to our apt, measured, and created the kitchen designs that our contractor is working off of. - She ordered the cabinets, dealt with delivery dates, and handled - Her rates are reasonable, she's honest about which touches are most cost-effective, and she isn't sales-y or pushy. - She has good design sense and has been able to work with our (sometimes quirky) design style, while making sure the kitchen doesn't look too busy. We've used her as a resource even for parts of the kitchen that we weren't ordering through her. Would certainly work with her again. read more

I had a TERRIBLE experience with The Kitchen Shop, particularly with Elise Marchese, the owner. It's been 8 months since I placed my order, and she still has not delivered a number of items that I'm due, despite the fact that the order is fully paid. She keeps delivering damaged goods and has refused to order replacements. I agree with the other reviewer's comment that she is quick to legal action, as I have experienced it firsthand. Like others i too have had a bad experience with the kitchen shop. Its sad that she even tries to screw her neighbors. I spent close to $50,000 for cabinets. They were the wrong size. Elise said she would take care of everything once she got paid in full. She took full payment and never remedied the necessary items. Rather than stand behind her product she is quick to turn disputes into legal matters thus costing additional time, money and inconvenience. 6 months later I'm left with an unfinished kitchen. read more

My comments echo those of others. My cabinets were measured wrong, the doors were warped and after a lot of heartache I have a finished kitchen that fell far short of what she promised. She was confrontational and threatening - a bad experience all around. read more

I thought that renovating a kitchen would be fairly easy considering we weren't changing the layout, but little did I know there is so MUCH more that goes into the space. Elise really helped us to see this- she guided us through the process with ease, designing the space in such a way that maximized our smaller space and creating a really fantastic, functional kitchen. She also really saw our style and chose samples of cabinets that we might not have chosen had we gone about the process ourselves- we are in love with our new kitchen- thanks to Elise's knowledge and expertise! read more

My husband and I want to thank Elise and her team from the Kitchen shop for a Gorgeous kitchen. We are so happy with the way everything turned out. They are professional, courteous and are there to help you with any unforeseen problems that may arise. They are easy to work (only a phone call away) and give you fast personalized service. issues which I thought were going to be a big problem were easily resolved 1- Elise switched my spice cabinet to make sure I had an adjustable one 2- She ordered shorter cabinets when we realized the microwave cover we ordered was too big. 3- She ordered an additional shelf for one of our cabinets. i would definitely recommend the Kitchen Shop! Thanks for everyone posting there reviews, I am looking to remodel my kitchen and bathroom, ALL the reviews seem to have the same theme.. My experience with the Kitchen Shop was very bad. They used poor materials and recommended sloppy workers. When I asked Ms. Marchese to make things right, she cut me off, saying I should speak to my lawyer. I would not work with them again. read more

I am completing my second job with Elise from the Kitchen Shop. She completed a beautiful kitchen for me in 2010. I have never had a single problem with it. She did such a good job, and her prices are so fair, that I didn't think twice about working with her on our next build. I am now nearing the end of an enormous project with her that involved cabinetry in seven different rooms. This cabinetry included a full kitchen, a 10 foot wet bar, living room cabinetry, a mudroom, and three bedroom built ins. The project was intricate and detailed and she worked with me relentlessly to get everything done. The cabinets in each room are astoundingly gorgeous. Anytime an issue arose regarding measurements or material, which naturally occur with any job of this nature, she addressed the issues immediately and professionally. Elise is creative, incredibly efficient, a pleasure to be around, and a consistent problem solver. No matter what it takes, she works at her projects until they are completed to perfection. Having worked with her twice I find it very hard to believe that any bad reviews about her are honest. She will be the first and only person I call when and if I have any cabinet projects in the future. read more
