I'm giving them a ONE because I ordered a burger no cheese , easy right ? Nope , it came with cheese . It's not that big of a deal but I am lactose intolerant so it CAN become a problem . I sent it back and when it was brought up to my table it was obvious that the only thing they replaced was the meat patty , all the other fixings were from the cheese burger because THEY STILL HAD MELTED CHEESE ON THEM! . The bacon was cold , onion rings were overly oily plus they had cheese on them, and let me tell you about that patty : it was dry and over cooked .... go figure . Fries were cold . The food for my husband and kids came out as they ordered , but they have no special requests , lucky them :) . Our server WAS great and handled things to the best of his abilities but of course it wasn't his fault . The manager came out to apologize , that was nice . The girl who brought the food at the beginning when she brought my burger had a really bad attitude and rolled her eyes when I sent the burger back . Ate here on a Saturday night for the character meal. Our reservation was for 6:15. I was shocked when we walked into a character meal, at that time on a Saturday night, and there was only one other table there. food and service were just okay. They bring you corn bread and baked pretzels to start and both were good. We ordered wings as an appetizer. The wings were small with not a lot of meat on them and there didn't seem to be anything special about the sauce. My husband had a Caesar salad and I had shrimp tacos. Both of our meals were typical. Nothing I would go back for. My second beer was taking so long I cancelled it. Apparently the keg blew, which I understand, but the server didn't offer for me to choose a different beer if I didn't want to wait and with so few people in there I can't understand why it took over 15 minutes to change a keg. The best thing about the experience were the characters. Because we were one of the few tables in the restaurant Bart and Homer Simpson spent a good amount of time goofing around with my kids. read more

To start...the service here is awful. I had read previous reviews on how great the service was. Ours was horrible. Saturday AM breakfast - not crowded at all. Took forever for our server to greet us. There was no sense of urgency. I felt like I was in the Islands. After the slow service we decided to forgo the menu and just get the buffet. Self-service was much more sufficient. The menu prices were fair, food was decent and the buffet offered many good selections. Food and prices would have allowed a much higher rating but because the service was so bad I had to vote 3 Stars. Orlando is one of the tourism capitals of the world and the Hard Rock Hotel is a nice place. I was shocked at the lack of fast service at not only this restaurant, but the pool bars and every food and beverage establishment in the Hotel. read more

There is nothing obviously vegetarian on the menu. That is pretty much par for the course in Orlando. After days at the theme park, watching everyone gorge on turkey legs, there is something to be said for eating some vegetables (and not just side dishes either). The Kitchen's afternoon staff at lunch, however, was very helpful and accommodating. At dinner, though, it was another thing entirely. Our waiter was one of those "too cool" guys who probably wishes he was a hard rocker rather than a waiter. Cliche, right? It took 15 minutes to get oil and vinegar for a salad--which our waiter blamed on the bussing staff. My daughter ordered a kid-version of the pasta with only olives, garlic, and olive oil. So, what they did was siphon off a portion of my pasta (I'm not kidding; my husband's pasta had 1/3 more than mine did) and serve that to her. Of course, she didn't want the tomatoes or spinach (she didn't order it). So, our waiter (blaming it on someone else yet again) takes it away and brings her a fresh order. I should have shown him my bowl, but I was starving (we had waited a while to sit and the food took a while), but it was comical that we paid for two separate orders when really her dish was just taken off the top of mine. (Believe me, I noticed: did I mention I was very hungry?) The worst was probably our waiter's attitude. No smiles. And we clearly weren't worthy. And it's true--we are so NOT worthy. ;) But, it's nice to have wait staff who at least pretend, and can offer a smile to a 5yo or an 8yo. read more

our hostess was very nice.. i wish she could have been our server. wait service was TERRIBLE!!! she looked like she sucked a lemon.. SLOW SLOW SLOW... when we asked for a napkin and silverware to eat our meal she seemed angry and replied, "ill get you more". we never got anything in the first place. no plate, no salt n pepper, no napkin, no silverware.... ill never be back!! read more

We went here because my nephew is obsessed with the Minions. It's actually the whole reason we went to Universal Studios in the first place so he could ride the ride. We weren't staying at the Hard Rock Hotel, we were staying at Cabana Bay, but they were supposed to have a dinner with the Minions here. So my sister booked us a table, and when we got there, they didn't even have the Minions. They had Bart and Homer Simpson. We asked what was up, and they said that sometimes they switch. So we basically went there for nothing, but we stayed to eat. We were there at 6:30 when they should have been busy, but the place was only about 20% full. The menu was pretty pricey for what you got. I got Shrimp Tacos, which were $18 for 3, and didn't even come with any side items. They were ok. I've had better and worse shrimp and or fish tacos. Nothing to get excited about. My dad got chicken and waffles, and they did give you a pretty good portion with that, so he ended up eating the waffle, but only eating one of the 3 pieces of chicken. I was still a little hungry, so he gave me a piece of the fried chicken, and it was 100% the worst piece of fried chicken I have ever had. It was not only bland and almost tasteless, but the taste it did have was terrible, and left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. We left the restaurant, and I still had the bad taste of that chicken in my mouth, and unfortunately we had to take the shuttle back to Citywalk, then catch another one to our hotel and I couldn't wait to get somewhere where I could get a drink to get that taste out of my mouth. I've been to restaurants where I haven't liked what I have eaten, but very few where I thought what I ate was actually disgusting. Furthermore, I'm not even sure why they have the character dinners in this place in the first place. It's not very kid friendly, it's more upscale, and very pricey. I can only guess that this place doesn't get very busy like some of the other Universal restaurants, so maybe they are trying to get people into the place. Either way, if you're down visiting Universal, make sure you avoid this place. read more

Awesome...3 visits in one stay at the Hard Rock Hotel! I'm not usually a fan of hotel restaurants but this one ROCKS.

We had a really bad experience at The Kitchen. We showed up an hour early for our reservations. I let them know I was early and specifically asked if we should go do something else first. We were told that we'd get early availability. What they didn't tell us was that they were going to seat by reservation time, not check-in time. Many diners that showed up late for their reservations got seated immediately, people without reservations that arrived after us were also seated, as well as anyone that complained. 40 minutes into waiting, I asked about this and was told that they were going in order and wouldn't do anything for me. After 90 minutes a server noticed how long we'd been waiting and went to get us seated. We ended up outside, which had been almost completely unoccupied for the last hour. We should have just interrupted the characters for pictures and left, I regret the vacation time I lost here. read more

This is the best breakfast you can buy. Dollar for dollar there is nothing like it the food is good and very enjoyable great surroundings and nice people. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys breakfast as much as I do. read more

Typical Hard Rock. I would have to say that for for only $5 more than the Universal theme park food. This place rocks. I did prefer to walk out of the theme park and eat here. Would definitely eat here again if I was to visit the Universal theme parks again. read more

My family and I are locals but we had heard that the breakfast at the hotel was amazing so we decided to try it out. The food was pretty good, we had the buffet and there was plenty of choices for everyone to find something they enjoyed (including picky children). But what really made our trip over the top excellent was the great service. Our server Marie was so friendly, she was on top of anything we needed. Many times you have serves that will bring you drinks and then you never see them again when you get the buffet, but not Marie. Her smiling face and friendly personality is what makes me recommend everyone I know to try this place, if the other servers are half as great as her you will enjoy your visit. read more

We had a dinner for 6 people. Some of the main dishes were split. They did a very nice job of that giving us individual plates and dividing up the veggies evenly. Dinner was fine except for the very bland macaroni and cheese. My issue with the kitchen was the wait. It was not crowded and dinner took a while to get. Perhaps just under 45 minutes. Since it was family and we were deep in conversation, that was OK. But desert was another matter. After making our selection we waited nearly twenty minutes and decided at that point to give up. Btw we ordered already created items such as cheese cake and brownies. In that time we never saw our waitress. We just got up and left. No one even came over to us as we were leaving. We paid our bill at the reception area and insisted that they remove the deserts that never arrived. No apology other than a reluctant, "we're sorry." I was looking for some explanation but none was ever forthcoming. We stayed at the Portofino Bay Hotel where service and food were exceptional. read more

Came for dinner while we were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and I was very pleased. No wait at 7:00 pm but quickly filled up at 7:30 pm. Our waitress, Olga, was amazing. Chicken with Italian sausage pasta was great as well as the cedar plank salmon. For dessert, you must have their version of Bananas Foster. So good! read more

So we did "brunch" here the day we arrived and it was great! The waitress Deb couldn't have been more accommodating. It was about 12:15 and they had actually stopped serving breakfast but having started our day at 4:30 am in NY I just wasn't quite ready for lunch. I ordered an omelet and it was just what I wanted, with perfect little cubed potatoes & toast. My husband had a turkey club that was actually a decent size sandwich & our daughter had the appetizer Cesar salad with chicken which was perfect. The service was really great and we figured we would come back....which we did for dinner the next night after the parks. This time there was a little bit of a wait (about 20 minutes which we were told and the timing was pretty much on). Considering how busy they were the service was great! We ordered drinks which came right out, apps, again which we got right away, and although we waited a few for our entrees our waiter was spot on letting us know he was on it & they came out moments later. They were super packed right after we sat down but we never felt rushed. The food was pretty good too with delicious chunks of artichokes in the spinach & artichoke dip & my husband said the chicken noodle soup was pretty good. The flat bread pizzas were delish & our waiter was most accommodating in wrapping up a chocolate mousse shooter for us to take up to the room for our daughter. So basically I'd say the Kitchen at the Hard Rock is worth visiting. read more

Good service, decent food, and convenient if you're in the Hard Rock Hotel and it's raining or you just don't want to go out. The breakfast buffet is good too, lots of variety and food is hot and plentiful. Eggs were moist and bacon and sausage weren't dried out. read more

Walked in at 6:25pm. There were only around 20 people in the entire restaurant. After we were seated no one from the wait staff came to our table. 3 waiters were standing by the kitchen chatting and looking at our table but no one came over. The people at a table near us were served but their waiter made sure NOT to make eye contact with us. God forbid he might have to bring us water and locate our waiter. After sitting in complete disbelief for 15 minutes we got up and left. Here is the funny part... The guy who was apparently our waiter ran after us outside begging us to come back in. (He saw his tip walking away!) He said he didn't know we were at his table. This is funny because no one was at any of his tables except us. The place was dead. I will never go back but it turned out good. We went over to City Walk and had outstanding service and food at Vivo. The waiter there got a 22% tip. read more

This place was amazing. Staying at the Hard Rock, we wanted to do breakfast as conveniently as possible. We had done a character dining the day before that was gross! So coming here was a nice change and a pleasant surprise. Their breakfast buffet is high quality and the staff is so nice and accommodating. For breakfast they have healthy options , fresh fruit, dessert, yogurt, cereal, eggs, pancakes, as well as an omelette station and a gourmet pancake/waffle making section. Our server, Marie, was outstanding. She told us that if we came before 9 am the next day that kids are half the price - instead of 12$ per child breakfast it would be 6. She was so awesome .We we so impressed by the staff and the cleanliness that we went back there for dinner. But dinner is not a buffet. That was fine. Their menu had a lot of options. Two of the kids in our group ordered the Mac n cheese, which tasted burnt and my steak was over cooked and the server was so pleasant and changed everything with no attitude and no problem! I always hate sending things back, but our server made us feel so comfortable , she was adamant about making sure we had a great experience. And I so appreciate that. This was a great place, the food was really great with just the one or two exceptions- The meals that we change them to came out amazing and great. This restaurant was very clean, and they bring out these delicious hot pretzel type breadsticks before your meal, to the table. And omg- they are delicious. They are hot, buttery, with a little bit of salt... yum! Not good actually if you're on a carb free diet diet, but maybe it's one to make an exception for. read more

We ate here one night after a long day at the park and we were blown away. Our server was awesome and made great recommendations. The prices are probably way too high but we were a captive audience. We ordered the gator bites on our servers recommendation and they were awesome. We also got the comped plate of pretzels and cornbread and again, very good. Our burgers were incredible. You could tell the meat was fresh and they were huge. By far, the best meal and service we had while we were at Universal last week. We should have skipped the Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritiville and ate here those nights. Again, I am not sure the pricing has to be at the level it is; however, you are in an amusement park. That being said, I would imagine it is kind of a turn off when you see the prices against the menu items. Service and quality of food were the best in the park. No doubt about it. Giving it 4 Stars only due to price which is just to high and we are not cheap travelers but it gave us pause. read more
