First of all, with a week after some of the world is open, the host was incredible. He was very informative professional & courteous. He asked if we could be patient, & went over some of the new rules that we all have to follow. It was very busy & yet social distancing was being practiced & enforced. To be honest, I'm not so sure I care that much, nevertheless it was nice to see they were doing a fine job. We were seated about 15 minutes after checking in & sat down with an incredible lady Devin (with an i). She was fun, informative, & very sweet. As for me, it was my first time at Atomic since I moved here two years ago & I can assure you it won't be my last. The drinks were delicious & the food was tasty. My beyond burger was so good I actually stopped & almost got upset because it tasted like real meat. Lol. It wasn't. Thanks Atomic, Door Host, & Devin with an i. Appreciate you all! Keep it up.

This is a hidden gem, seriously it is kind of hidden. Our group had just finished the safety brief for the Mint 400 race in the llama lot and we were looking to grab a bite before bed - Of course I took to Yelp to find the perfect spot. It doesn't look like much from the outside, in fact you think your going to a liquor store...and then there it is! There is a great outdoor seating area, but it was a little chilly the night we were there so we opted for indoors. Our server was attentive and gave us some great notes on appetizers and entrées. Drinks were a little slow but when they finally made it to the table they were perfect. No one had any complaints about their food, I had the steak and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly! I would have never thought I'd find a meal like this, in a location like this, but if you find yourself in the llama lot, like I did, check out the Kitchen at Atomic

Atomic Kitchen I visited the "Zagat" website to see if any new or interesting restaurants may have opened recently. I was surprised that Atomic Liquor opened "The Kitchen at Atomic". The Zagat website offers an image of the restaurant interior. It is accurate, and better than one that I can offer. (I am providing an exterior image.) It's a sizable dining room. There are a lot of hard surfaces, so I imagine the place can get noisy when filled. Seat placement is not packed too tightly; and while not plush, it is comfortable. There is outdoor seating, as well. A "sample" menu is available on the business's website. However, the menu apparently is subject to regular change--perhaps to prevent the menu from being too predictable, and provide regulars a reason to come in more often. For my meal, I had one of the evening's specials: Tagliatelle; braised pork shoulder ragu, Pomodoro, Parmesan Reggiano ($20). It was an a la carte main course--no sides. Perception of portion size is subjective, but for my purposes, it was "just right". However, if you are dining as a group, I can see how the serving size will encourage the purchase of add-ons--such as salads or appetizers. The pasta was prepared very well--al dente. The sauce was prepared from scratch; it was a bit tart, versus sweet. The protein content was adequate--more to accentuate the dish, rather than be a featured ingredient. All in all, a very good dish, presented well. With the kitchen running so well, I was surprised how uneven the service was in the front of the house. I ate alone at the bar, and it wasn't too busy. It took a long while for the bartender to notice and acknowledge me. Service remained spotty after that. I took the opportunity to observe staff at work, and I began to wonder if service levels would fall if the restaurant had been busier. Atomic Liquor After dinner, I decided to have a drink at Atomic Liquor. I like the ambiance and the history. I like the available selection of craft beers. However, service was spotty here, too. Maybe I visited on an "off" night--so don't feel put off. The first meal I had was nice enough that I will make a follow-up visit. kitchenatatomic.vegas

    The Gunslinger. Very tasty!

Full Disclosure: I came here anticipating that this was the Atomic Liquors saloon of yore. Turns out, I wasn't far off, but the 'Kitchen' boasts a full dinner menu (which looks really decent) and a more upscale bar that still keeps things down to earth. I had the Gunslinger and it was delicious. The bartender said it was their most ordered cocktail, and I can see why. It's whiskey-forward, but the rest of the flavors blend so well. It doesn't come across as cloyingly sweet, but it does drink quite nicely. The flambeed orange zest was the perfect touch. If I come back here for dinner, I'll definitely update the review, but the food looked pretty solid. For a hipster-level bar scene without the pretentiousness, though, it wins major marks.

As some of you are aware, I love brunch. Quite possibly one of the most important meals of the week. Today's choice is The Kitchen at Atomic. http://kitchenatatomic.vegas. This is the next door eatery from http://atomic.vegas Atomic Liquors. This is one of the oldest bars in Las Vegas. It is named this way because people used to take their high ball cocktails to the roof to watch the atomic weapons being tested in the desert. Today I tried several dishes. The monkey bread and prosciutto didn't really do it for me. It was very dense and the meat was making me feel like it's an add on. They redeemed themselves with the Jameson whiskey bread pudding and pork belly. The fresh cream was amazing. I was also sitting on their patio listening to 80s hair band music and then a nice Jazz trio. Amanda is the Hostesss with all the information in the world on the phone and Courtney, a fellow traveler, was my server. Her recommendations were spot on. Enjoy ! One slight tip for sitting outside, don't sit at the table furthest towards the back fence. Had to fend off some pesky flies. Apparently they too could smell the whiskey bread pudding !

    Wine anyone?

This is my 5th time here. I really like this place. The atmosphere is nice and open, it's not too loud, the lighting is kinda romantic at night. I've sat outside, I've sat at a table, a booth and the bar. I like the bar. Cushioned nicely by my knees, comfy chairs and purse hooks. Service has always been nice. They have an excellent drink selection with good craft beer choices, wine and cocktails. They have a really nice food menu! Of note: if you're on a low carb, vegetarian or paleo diet, you'll do well here. Tonight I had the wedge salad and hanger skirt steak (sugar free). Other half had Brussels sprouts and wings. Everything was prepared to order, flavorful and delicious. This place is just a short walk east from the hustle and bustle of the Fremont Experience. I've never seen it crazy busy, so if there's a long wait Downtown, I highly recommend taking a walk. Adjacent is Atomic Liquor bar, but it IS separate. They have outdoor seating with heaters in cold months. Good for groups. No outside food or drink or smoking. This place is great choice for a truly memorable Downtown e *UPDATE as of June 2020 They changed their menu! They changed their Chef! So disappointed! Burgers, salads, wings??? Seriously?! Changed from 5 to 3 stars. I understand COVID has devastated local businesses, but at what cost?! This is now bar food caliber :(

I love the concept and space at K@A! The menu is refined, the space is modern, the crowd is grown-hipster. I've been by twice and the beer menu is a thing of wonder (the Chai on draft is perfect for fall!), but food execution seems to vary based on who's in the kitchen. I love seeing beef tartare on a menu, and this one with cured egg yolk was sufficient but would benefit from a bit more seasoning. The Mexican-influenced Caesarette with grilled cactus and corn nuts was a surprise hit, and I really like the lime in the dressing. An entree-size version would make a great vegetarian dinner! Props for having a spaghetti squash shakshuka and a veggie burger for those who are unable to eat meat. Chicken thighs are the cut I work with most at home, and I really liked the gravy and chicken-fried mushrooms used in the preparation here, but it was a touch salty and the cuts of meat were oddly small and rubbery in texture. My guy opted for the Surf & Turf and the giant tiger prawns were easily the star of this dish, while the tenderloin was a touch tough. We shared the PBJ Bread Pudding, made with brioche. The flavor profile successfully nailed the nutty-sweet balance, but the hot buttered sherry sauce was unnecessary and overpowering. Perhaps it's because we went in right at their 4PM opening, but the dessert was also cold in the middle as if it'd just been taken from the refrigerator. We were informed that they were training new kitchen staff, which may explain some of the missteps above. I really am a fan of the menu and the space, and will be revisiting to try other dishes (specifically the wings and scallops!) in the hopes that the execution will be a bit tighter than my last visit.

This is swiftly becoming my go-to bar downtown and here is why: The place always has a good crowd and vibe The drinks are creative and they have a very deep variety of alcohol. The small but we'll executed menu is fantastic! The bartenders are proud of their drink creations and will engage in a discussion of them. Prices are upscale but not outrageous. My favorite menu item is the decadent shrimp cheese sticks. About an inch around it is a combination that works surprisingly well. Their hamburger is one of the best in the city and you choose what goes on it from a list of toppings. Definitely worth a visit.

A great place for good friends to hangout and enjoy some good drinks, conversations and some good food. The historic Atomic bar has always consistently been a go to hangout for me and my friends. If you're ever downtown Fremont, head down east Fremont and stop in for a drink or two and enjoy some good food. :)

Although Atomic Liquors has existed since 1952 it is far more recently that The Kitchen at Atomic has emerged as a downtown destination, its migration from Bar Food to creative American Cuisine begun by Justin Kingsley Hall and now carried on by Chef Jackson Stamper since February. Only open for two years, the debut of Carson Kitchen in June of 2014 expanding DTLV's idea of what dining could be and giving Atomic owner Lance Johns an idea to open his own eatery, it is alongside the famous dive-bar where guests used to watch nuclear testing from the roof that The Kitchen is located, a 21+ age-limit noteworthy for both spaces as a result of the adjoining patio. Devoid of televisions and instead entertaining diners with music ranging from The Beach Boys to Aerosmith, a widely-spaced interior nicely designed with big booths and tables, it is by pleasant hostesses and an educated staff that diners are welcomed from Wednesday to Sunday, the all-new menu concisely divided into four sections plus Dessert tucked in the back of an extensive Cocktail and Spirit list. Best classified as "market-driven" in its inspiration, Stamper's five years as Executive Chef at New York's Employees Only gifting him with an idea of how to introduce a Bar or Speakeasy crowd to boldly flavored Food with a focus on ingredients, it is after selecting one of several Cocktails including a smoky "Percussion Gun" or Tiki-inspired "Life's a Beach" that ordering ensues, nearly half the items Vegetable focused and several able to be made Vegan. Combining "Small Plates" and "For The Table" as Appetizers, though "Sides" such as Heirloom Carrots charred with Spices also may qualify, it was alongside those Carrots that three dishes started things off, both Sugar Snap and English Peas singing of Spring atop tangy Yogurt Dressing while grilled Beans greater than a foot in length performed beautifully as a base to medium-potency Feta and Tomatoes roasted to concentrate their sweetness. Only getting to Meat after three plates, melting nuggets of Marrow liberated from the Bone and offered alongside shades of red both sweet and earthy, it was returning to Produce that two additional plates arrived, squeaky Halloumi unfortunately a bit overwhelmed by Mint but Chef Stamper's Cauliflower Steak absolutely brilliant in terms of flavor with a bevy of textures equally prone to please Vegetarians and Carnivores. Already celebrating a 14oz Bone-in Pork Chop as something of a signature, the use of Rum in Brine as well as Sauce adding depth to both tender Flesh and grilled Rabe, those seeking Steak can consider Creekstone Ribeye sold at $3.50 per ounce if dining as a group, or the 10oz Hanger cooked expertly and served atop bitter Vegetables brightened by Burnt Orange Vinaigrette. Hoping to eventually differentiate the Restaurant from its famous Bar, a work in progress that may become further muddled as Jackson and Mr. Johns plan to debut a separate menu of patio plates this summer, those seeking a bit of whimsy right now should not pass on Desserts including Chocolate Cake enriched by Beer and boozy Cherries or a Fried Apple Pie that eats light like Funnel Cake but with lots of subtle nuances thanks to aromatic Whipped Cream and ground Pecans. ****1/2: Although Justin Kingsley Hall deserves thanks for helping to elevate The Kitchen at Atomic beyond Burgers and Wings, it is from new Chef Jackson Stamper that the menu has transitioned to produce-focused seasonal plates that equally warrant the attention of not just downtown denizens but diners across the Valley.

Best options I've seen to stack up a burger! horseradish cheddar & sriracha bacon were great. =)

I visited on a Saturday night at 8 PM without reservations with the Fiery BBFF. We were extra bored, hungry and found ourselves at the recently opened Kitchen at Atomic looking to smash our boredom. Service: 4.5/5 The hostess was great. She asked how the night was going and if we wanted a table inside or outside as the weather was lovely. Our awesome waiter Justin Z. was very attentive to us from beginning to end. After discovering this was our first visit, he mentioned that the restaurant use to be a Garage and was featured in the movie "Casino" He was helpful with telling the how the servings worked with the the mac n cheese bites we were eyeing (5 pieces) He checked on us frequently and kept our Tito's and gingers coming. Shout out to the waiter who we mistook for Justin after our 3rd Tito's. He had the same stylish haircut and beard, friendly attitude but was wearing glasses. He took our order for the 4th Tito's without hesitating as if he was assigned to our table himself. Fantastic...lol Food: 4.0/5.0 On our quest to Atom smash our hunger, we were either going with stacking up a burger with their awesome additions (see pics) or going with a more traditional dish in the "main" section. I stacked up a burger with horseradish cheddar + sriracha bacon and of course a fried egg. All additions were so tasty and the fried egg was cooked perfect to the point where not too much yolk flies out after the first bite. Very impressed, with this tasty burger. Waffle fries were the perfect compliment. The Mama Johns Mac Bites were tasty , but only came out in 5 small pieces. 3 more small pieces to get to 8 would be perfect. Value:4.0/5.0 Our burgers started at $9 and each addition is either a $1 or $2.. The high quality additions were fantastic. (see pic) They had 7 different cheeses to pick from & if you've been following me you know that cheese = bae. Our Tito's and gingers were $7 and mixed well. Ambiance: 5.0/5.0 The courtyard outside has long tables to accommodate large parties. (10+) and there's plenty of seating inside the "Garage" with additional outdoor seating on the side. The vibe and energy is great. Great contemporary industrial feel in the garage with still some old school Vegas flavor and history. The Atomic Bar, is a stumble next door and is perfect place to park for more drinks after dinner. Summary: We came in hangry and bored, and left full and recharged for a Saturday night downtown because of the great food, excellent service and vibe. I look forward to heading back and either trying something off the main side, or stacking another burger with excellent cheese combos. Afterwards we headed over to the historic Atomic bar that's connected to the kitchen, but that's another yelp tale. =)

One of the great things about living in this day and age--the day and age of Yelp--is going to a town full of very touristy things, staying in the place full of tourists, but being able to suss out the really great finds. Such was the case with this restaurant. I was staying a few blocks away, and saw this pop up on the Yelp app as a hot new business. I was intrigued, but it was definitely not part of the main tourist section. If that had been my only reason for the trip--touristing--I would have never made it in. But lucky for me, I was there for more Yelpy reasons, and was able to get away from it all and chase down this place. On the outside, you can see the story of two Atomics. The venerable old Atomic Liquors has been in that spot for ages. AGES. And the building has been maintained but still has the patina. Next door at the new kitchen, however, you have a new shine, a new patio, and it looks slick. Which is not to say it's not old. Apparently, it's an old mechanic's garage that had been there since earlier in the twentieth century. When it closed, Atomic bought the space with the idea of adding food to the booze side of things, spent a year remodeling, and opened a garage-esque restaurant as an homage. The old steel beams still hold it up, though they had to pour a new foundation. Inside it's polished. It's nice but not fancy by any means. And over time, it will take on more character. I was greeted by Hannah at the door, who was sweet and suggested I take my party of one to the bar. There I was greeted by Chase, who was in the midst of serious ice making. They take their ice seriously, and he does the cooler trick to freeze clear ice, then has a fancy copper contraption to make the ice cubes into perfect spheres. I was mesmerized. The menu is bifurcated into two schools of thought. On the one side, you've got bar food. Fried things, apps, shareable things. On the other, you've got nice, plated items. And it really is the kind of space that can pull both off. Back that up with an already proven bar program and you've got the makings of a flexible spot. I went with the bar side of things. I started with a mini hot dog trio, which was actually a sizeable plate. I liked the Chicago dog best--Detroit dogs aren't my favorite, and the third (Columbian?) was topped with an adorable quail egg. On Chase's suggestion I got the burger and added avocado. They brand the bun with their logo which is a nice tough, and it was served with a big ol' pickle spear. They have a lot of options (21 by my count) to add on to your burger, which is kinda cool--you can certainly make it your own. It was super juicy, and although I don't love horseradish, the sauce was smooth enough to complement the whole thing. I wish I hadn't been in such a hurry to catch my flight, because I could have stayed for a while. Everyone was super cool, and there was a lot more menu to try. Total chill spot, probably will get rowdier on the weekends, but it's just far enough outside downtown that you're getting some good folks in the door, drawn to good drinks and a food program that looks like it will take hold.

It is now part of the routine when I'm in Vegas. First thing that jumped out (other that the incredible ambiance) was the excellent choice of spirits for their drinks - utilizing funky rums, mezcals etc. The drinks struck the perfect balance of creative and fun but still well executed (dilution and temperature). The drinks are tasty but still have personality and a perspective. You can tell by the drink names in conjunction with tasting them - that the Prowl team take what they do seriously without taking themselves too seriously. No pretentious mixology nonsense. With that said - they've got plenty of fresh ideas for a cocktail den. Oh ya - and the merch and ambiance is awesome as well - but you knew that.

The animated jaguar above the bar always seems as if she's looking at you. And be sure to pop into the rear restroom and look up. Very interesting cocktail menu, but if you're lucky enough to get Jackie as a bartender, she's a phenomenal mixologist. Tell her what sort of drinks you like and just ask her to make whatever comes into her head--you won't be disappointed at the sophisticated and unusual result,

Beautiful lighting with bewitching decor including a mishmash of vintage wooden furniture and other enchanting touches. An absolute perfect choice for our Coven, I mean bookclub to meet up. We arrived as they opened and found seating in the corner where we could all gather to discuss our monthly read. We were provided menus and the drink choices are many. Everyone ended up ordering something different which made for great pictures. I decided to try the Midnight Chaji and it was very satisfying. It had matcha in it so you know I was loving it. Other drinks tried were The Alpine, Devils Dance and a couple of mocktails. A very fitting location in the Arts District right on Main Street. The space is large with a long and inviting bar, tables for two to six, soft velvet couches, chaise lounges and chairs up front. Plenty of room for mischievous behavior. Service was fantastic and helpful. We were checked on and drinks were refilled timely. Parking is metered on the street or there are parking lots with paid parking. Monthly events including a monthly tarot bingo night, and various classes. Happy hour is Sun - Thursday 4-7pm. And I leave you with this classic lyric - "Ooh witchy woman, see how high she flies. Ooh witchy woman, she got the moon in her eyes." - Eagles

Well, well, well--dark, witchy, and moody, with luscious velvet seating? Yes, please…read more I've been wanting to check out Dark Sister for quite some time, and I'm so glad I finally did. The vibe is meticulously crafted--every sense is engaged. From the moment you enter, the dim lighting and subtle, woodsy fragrance create an atmosphere that instantly feels warm and inviting. My husband and I were lucky enough to snag a cozy velvet bench tucked behind a table, complete with beautifully designed menus that resemble delicate grimoires, featuring their thoughtfully crafted, magical cocktails. I ordered a prosecco, which arrived in a goblet straight out of days of lore--loved every detail. Despite it being a busy Saturday night, our server checked in on us several times, which was much appreciated. There are also tables and chairs toward the back of the space--perfect for lingering with friends (bring your cards, chicas). We'll definitely be back.
