This place was great! We made a reservation, but I don't think it's really needed. The 6 of us were sat quickly which was great for a Saturday night and at the tail end of their happy hour. The space is pretty big and it looks like they may have an upstairs. Our server was great! She was quick and on top of things while also helping the group at the bar. I ordered the yellow birdy colada to drink which was yummy and strong! For food I got the taverna burger which came with fries. I got through about half of it, it was really good. Cooked well, good toppings, and the bun was toasted perfectly. Friends loved their food and drinks, and we had a great time! Yelp! review #10 of 2026 I dropped in around 8pm on the 26th of FEB, for a comedy show advertised on Eventbrite, with no mention of a cover charge. When I showed up, there was a $20 fee, and they expected a tip. When I inquired, they said Eventbrite was only for headcount. It felt like a bit of false advertising, which left me disappointed. The cool thing about it, though, was that at least they gave me a drink ticket, which made up for the unexpected cover charge. After I was seated, I was given a food menu, which was unexpected but definitely welcome. I ordered the ribeye steak truffle fries, and for the price, it was exceptionally good. Overall, the service was great, the food was excellent, and the comedy show was even better. I might be back, but that cover charge threw me off. The one thing I didn't like was that, at the end of the comedy show, as I was leaving, neither the security guard nor anyone else at the door opened it for me. I'm disabled and use a walker to ambulate, so that didn't sit well with me. read more

This is a hidden gem. The address says Main Street, though it is actually on 1st. Parking is good if you have an Apple phone. There is some street parking. The venue has an industrial vibe with cute lighting that changes colors. At the time we went it was "seat yourself:, so we did. The Chef brought us menus, and was very personable. Two of us ordered the grilled mahi-mahi over macadamia rice with Brussel sprouts, Mom had the mahi-mahi fish & chips, and my friend had the Kailua pork bowl with rice and a macaroni salad. Helpful Tip: CHECK YOUR BILL My family and I waited over 20 minutes after being seated (two additional tables and one person at the bar) for service. The chef Chris casually stopped by to inquire about our service. He apologized and took our beverage and food order. To his credit he helped move things along and the food came out quickly. That part was appreciated. Short staffed was clear and I get it but empathy only goes so far when the issues stack up the way they did here. The food was mixed to be fair. The panko calamari was overdone charred burn like taste otherwise flavorless and a hard pass. The margarita pizza was forgettable think cafeteria pizza nothing more. The ahi tuna was actually a solid choice def not the best I've ever had but the layered flavors and the wontons was a hit. The brussels were genuinely good and probably the highlight of everything ordered. Billing was a disaster and sent me over the edge. I was charged incorrectly for happy hour items on multiple items . Instead of 50% off most items rang up at 25% off or full price with only one item correctly discounted. I brought it up three separate times including directly with the chef who literally pointed to the items on the menu confirming they were happy hour eligible. Two servers couldn't resolve it after multiple attempts and a significant amount of time I eventually gave up and walked out. (Partially my fault for not reviewing the bill before paying but the drawn out wait time to even get the bill had m ready to go). There are only so many apologies an establishment can offer before it becomes clear there is an operations problem not just a bad night. No structure poor knowledge of menu inconsistent service and unable to make a straightforward billing issue right. This is Vegas. I really wanted to find a dog friendly restaurant with a cute patio, so today we're reviewing to Terna Costera in the Arts District. As a reminder, I don't get paid or comped for my reviews, so let's get into it. We came around 11:30 AM on a Sunday, and we had the patio all to ourselves. We started with the cucumber Mojito, which was nice and refreshing. We shared the shrimp ceviche appetizer, which was OK, but it was missing a little something - maybe some jalapeños would've helped. We were super excited to try the barbecue ribs and cornbread. Even though the ribs were really good, they came out cold, which was a bummer. The cornbread was super bland, but at least our pup really liked it. Our pup also seemed to like his eggs, and I do like that you can buy one à la cart. All in all, taverna does have a lot of potential, so we're giving this one 3.5 out of five stars. read more

We came here during First Friday and The decor is cool but the food is just really bad. It's supposed to be a Hawaiian menu which is really not "Costera"that is Spanish and we thought it would be a Mexican menu. The food was half frozen, even if it would have been unfrozen correctly, flavor was just terrible, well actually no flavor was present . I try not eat McDonald but I think I would have been better off doing that. There is no flavor and adding more salt won't add anything of substance. Ownership should try their own food, you need a major overhaul of menu or you won't make it. But hey! if people are high on dope when they go there maybe they won't be able to tell how bad it's. Their menu, curated beautifully by Chef Chris and owner Jeff Hwang, combines the absolute best of flavors inspired by Hawaiian Fusion AND Coastal Mediterranean fusion. This unique fusion is a work of art. Truly. The other great aspect of this place is its staff. I still don't know everyone's names, but there are many standouts: Jessica, Alex(es), Jennifer, Max, Amanda, and more. They all make guests feel especially welcomed. Food prices are also very affordable, especially considering the quality and quantity. My favorites are their newest small Dragon Bowls, but every selection is worth trying. What a charming place. Located on Main street in the arts district, the atmosphere is cozy but modern with saleavle art decor. This quaint restaurant across from the burlesque theater should be packed 24/7. Combination dining, rooftop bar, and coffee shop the menu has something for everyone with a hawaiin flair. I had the breakfast sambo which comes on a thick Jape ese Milk Bread with just the right amount of crispness on the outside and soft goodness on the inside. It comes with breakfast potatoes in the form of whole purple potatoes cooked and seasoned well. The jam, eggs, sausage, and maple syrup blended perfectly. I am a big hungry guy but I could not finish this monster. Our table also enjoyed the blackened burger and the turkey sandwich both of which were large portions. Next time we will try the honey toast desert but I was too full. The website menu is not up to date, they have ao much more. Essentially the items on the website is just the happy hour menu. They also have donbyri, loco moco, fried rice, and other hawaiian flavors. With several interesting drinks and bottled beers on the menu, some tv's, and live entertainment at night, we will definitely be back. Popped in for happy hour on a Wednesday andived it! The cocktails were delicious, and the food was good as well, in particular the flatbread was absolutely amazing! The pricing for happy hour was great, and they have taco Wednesday with $3 tacos, so we each tried one and I loved my shrimp taco! Our services wonderful, she was attentive and sweet and funny, and she made great suggestions. The restaurant is bright and inviting and I loved the space. The chicken was tender, the sun-dried tomatoes were plump, and the spinach had just enough of a wilt to it. The taverna burger was juicy, seasoned to perfection, topped with goey cheese and some thiCCCer than a snicker crispy bacon. The rough chopped lettuce was fresh, and the side of fries were hot and crisp. My lavender drink was refreshing and lightly sweetened. An observation: I can tell a lot about a place by the energy level of the staff. Our waitress clearly loved her job and the restaurant. When we told her it was our first time, she was eager to give us a little tour of the venue and invited us back for brunch, music on the rooftop, and mentioned that the place is popping during First Friday. Tried Taverna for the first time and the food wasn't great. i really cant tell if they are trying to be a Hawaiian restaurant or if they just have a range of things on the menu but the concept is confusing. My waitress was also just so so. They seemed to be a little disorganized and the food did not come out as ordered. The night I was there they had live music. I normally love live music but it was so loud it made it difficult to talk to the friends I was with and ultimately didn't make the experience great. Came on a Wednesday around lunch time. We sat in the patio area and it was pretty doable with the Vegas heat since the fan was running! We sat under the roof to give us some shade since we had our baby with us. This place is located in the Arts District. I was so glad I found it while looking for unique places to dine near by. We got the Mexican Street Corn Riblets as starters. What a visually stunning way to serve it. It was so good too. Not too spicy and had the right about of seasoning. We asked for nachos on the side to dip with the guacamole. For drinks, we got the Yellow Birdy Colada and the Coconut Whisky Sour. Both super delicious. Love how the colada was on the rocks and not blended. For entrees, my husband got the Vegan Spring Pasta with shrimp. I got the Furikake Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. The Vegan Spring Pasta was good but could be better. I thought the shrimp would come inside the pasta cooked. My husband said the pasta didn't taste fresh but it was good. My salad was delicious. Highly recommend it! Bathrooms are limited. Only one stall per women/men's bathroom. Parking limited near the place. You have to park in the back on the other side of the building for more parking. I think you may need to pay. We got lucky and got a parking spot in the front. I bet this place is gorgeous at night. There were a whole bunch of bistro lights hanging in the patio. Lastly, there is a coffee shop inside. I think it's called Dragon's Alley Coffee. Looks like they were just opening when we went. It looked like they had vegan options such as vegan katsu curry and vegan spam musubi. I would definitely come back! As a local, I felt like I was in a different city. The food was great. Taberna Costera was ok, let's start getting into my experience. For appetizers I went with the pork belly and the fried calamari steak. The calamari was good and the sauces they put on they were also tasty. The pork belly had a different taste that wasn't my favorite. It was the seasonings they added and the sauce it came with did not pair well. For dinner entrees I went with the Ahi poke bowl and the Italian topped steak. The poke bowl was ok it needed more flavor. The ratio to rice and fish don't equal out, to much rice in the bowl. The steak was cooked well and the shrimp that came with them were really good. Staff hanging out talking to each other while we waited for someone to bring the check - had to ask the hostess. The portions were so small and overpriced. Nothing to rave about. I get scared every time I see a restaurant feel the need to over-explain itself with 90s catchphrases like "fusion," "coastal-inspired," or "globally influenced." It's usually a good sign the establishment is... outdated at best. At worst? It's a culinary fever dream where logic--and flavor--go to die. Enter Taverna Costera in Las Vegas' Arts District. A name that whispers Mediterranean romance, seaside charm, and bold flavors from Greece to Morocco. Spoiler alert: there's absolutely nothing Mediterranean about this place unless you count the vague use of the word "taverna" and maybe a lonely olive in the bar garnish tray. This is, quite frankly.......really bad gaming bar food. Let's start with the cocktail. I only ordered one, because that was all I could mentally and physically handle. It was the Taverna Mule. Sounds safe, right? Wrong. This wasn't a mule. This was a sugar-drenched, apple-scented fever dream of someone who once watched a TikTok about bartending. It tasted like someone challenged an Applebee's bartender to "ruin a mule" and then sweetened it for the kids' menu. I genuinely hate to slander Applebee's here--they'd never stoop to this level. Now, before we get to the food, let me say this: if the ambiance was supposed to be "abandoned vape shop meets high school hookah night," then bravo. Especially with the bonus sensory touch of every single staff member smelling like a half-used pack of Marlboro Reds. Our server? Eau de break room ashtray. The person from the kitchen who wandered by our table three times? Smelled like he just stubbed out a cig in the aioli. On to the "Turkish Egg." Oh boy. This dish gave me trust issues. Whatever that object was on my plate may have once been an egg, but by the time it arrived it had been boiled into a rubber dog toy, shellacked with generic chili crunch from a jar I'm pretty sure I saw at Walmart, and buried under a chaotic forest of microgreens. A classic trick from the "fusion" playbook: when in doubt, smother it with greenery and hope no one notices you can't actually cook. It came with a piece of toast that was less "crisp and golden" and more "salvage from a toaster fire." I won't even get into my wife's dish out of mercy--for her and for you, dear reader. Suffice it to say, nothing we ate (or attempted to) had any identity, coherence, or even basic warmth. The place has an extreme case of restaurant-level identity crisis: trying to be trendy, sexy, global, local, casual, fine-dining, speakeasy, sports bar, nightclub, and food truck--all at once. Result? Utter chaos. The service? Completely absent. We didn't touch our food. No one asked why. Plates were cleared with the same emotional engagement you get at the DMV. Not even a "Was everything alright?" Which, honestly, would've been a dangerous question to ask. In finality, Taverna Costera is the culinary equivalent of someone who shows up to a costume party dressed as a concept no one understands. Confused, over-perfumed, and devoid of soul. Will never return. This is as bad as it gets for Las Vegas. read more
