After dinner, we went for a walk and decided to check out Mezcla Tequila Bar. We were very quickly warmly greeted as we entered. We grabbed a bar stool and began to explore the drink menu. It was "fun" with bright colors and a variety of specialty drinks to choose from. Small but super quaint. Vibrant style and well stocked bar. It has a small space to sit Our front, but inside was quite nice! The bar owner is great! Welcoming, enjoyable to chat with and just nice. He makes a great cocktail and you can see, takes great pride in his establishment. Definitely would highly recommend and will be back next time we're in Vegas. read more

Absolutely fantastic! We stumbled upon this place and found it to be exceptional- the inside area is small, but we found comfortable seating, and the bartender and wait staff were very welcoming, friendly, and had excellent drink recommendations. The ambience was fantastic, there was so much to look at. There was live music with a really talented singer, and a few times we even stepped outside on the patio to join the dancing. We were able to order some appetizers that were brought over from the restaurant next-door, though we were really, just there for the drinks in the ambience, it was convenient to have that option. If you're in the downtown area and you're looking for some good tequila, this is your spot. We came here because we wanted to explore some new places downtown and this sparked our interest. I don't know too much about tequila, but this place will definitely give you more options than your regular patron, casamigos, cazadores type of tequilas. I never heard of a bunch of the tequilas nor had a cristallino tequila so we went with this sampler that was all cristallino tequila. All of them were really smooth and offered a different experience with the taste palate. This place also services food from Yu-Or-Mi sushi which is next door. We got the pineapple ceviche which was pretty good as it had hints of smashed pineapple in it. Don't think it's anything too great where I'd come here to order it again, but it did offer a decent snack. The bar is pretty small where you can come with a couple of people, but I don't see fitting a huge group in here. The vibe is pretty cool since they have a DJ mix track that plays which kind of makes it seem like your at a party while your drinking. read more

For the most part the bartenders were nice but I felt weird giving my card to the girl. She insisted on taking it behind the bar and had it for an extended time. Really cute tequila bar in the arts district. They're also a ceviche bar so they specialize in sea food which little else on the foot menu, so non seafood lovers beware. But if you love an amazing margarita and oysters or ceviche you're in the right place! The basic margarita had a fantastic rim and was a pretty example of what a good basic margarita should be. Bella's Berry margarita was incredibly sweet but very tasty. The ambiance was amazing since they decorated heavily for Halloween. The bartender were very nice as well and left us with kind words. This business is extremely inconsiderate of its neighbors. Arts District is full of clubs, shops, restaurants, and bars. What some people forget however is that it's also full of apartments and there's residents who live here. Businesses are well aware of the community living in the space. We are frequent patrons and bring them lots of business. All the other businesses do their best to be mindful of their neighbors. This one however, does not. It has two very loud speakers on what's barely a patio on the street. It's currently 1 am and people are trying to sleep in the apartment building across from Mezcla yet the owner has the speakers outside turned all the way up so everyone trying to get a good nights rest has to hear the death screeches of what can only be described as auditory colon cancer. It's not even like there's anyone outside that wants to listen to it. They just got them cranked to full volume out of malice. This isn't the first time either. Myself and others have asked the business and one of the owners on multiple occasions if he could just keep the speakers off outside. We're not even asking him to close early or stop the party, even though the business page says it's only open to until midnight. But we can't hear what's going on inside the bar when the speakers aren't on outside anyway. We're just asking for Mezcla to be mindful and keep the outside noise down. Big thumbs down. If the owner would kindly send me his address so that I can show up to his house and blare music outside on loud speakers while he's trying to sleep to see how he likes it, that would be greatly appreciated. We recently went to Mezcla, and as always, it didn't disappoint! I had a michelada and the Ahi Poke Nachos--both were delicious, and the food was so fresh. This place truly deserves more recognition. The owner clearly takes her restaurant seriously; we've been here several times, and once had the pleasure of meeting her. She was so friendly and genuinely cares about the community and making sure her clients get the best food and service. The staff was great, very attentive, and added to the welcoming vibe. Happened to see this place on yelp while we were out in Vegas and decided to stop by! Cute little spot in old town with a huge selection of tequila and mezcal, among other things. Walked in and received great and friendly service. It was slow but it was nice! Mezcla aguachile- so the menu doesn't say it but the green sauce is mild and the red sauce is hot! I went with the green sauce not knowing the spice differences and wanting a refreshing sauce. Delicious mix of seafood, very fresh and flavorful. The green sauce adds citrus but has no spice. Later on we found out the red sauce is the spicy one. Sopes-had both the pork and chicken soles and a side of the red aguachile sauce. Great cook on the meats but a little too much garnish for me. The sopes themselves(tortilla) was perfect. Not grainy, not too thick just right. I would definitely try them again. The red sauce- it is freaking hot! I love spicy and still this burned my mouth. I finally made it to Mezcal for a late lunch today, and it was yet another home run for Downtown Las Vegas in my book. Upon arrival, I grabbed a seat at the bar and took a quick glance at the menu. I quickly settled on the Mezcal Aquachile as a lover of all things octopus. After having the first bite, I knew I had a winner. The ceviche was loaded with flavor, the texture was just right, and there was a perfect balance of acid, sweetness, creaminess, and spice. Honestly, it's the best thing I've eaten since I had carnitas at Broad Acres a couple weeks ago. In terms of the space, the inside is pretty quaint with an extended bar and about four or five tabletops, but Mezcal is in a prime location to bar hop or sample dishes from multiple restaurants. They were preparing for their one year anniversary celebration during my visit, so I also got a picture of the sidewalk display (that they had just assembled) on my way out. It was packed, a little noisy but I'm loud anyway, so it didnt affect me. The taste and presentation of food, was truly above average. I ate here with coworkers, and both were from the food and beverage department...one was our Executive Chef--and he himself, commended the food to be great in taste and portion size. The chips and salsa came with banana chips too which tasted great it both the salsa and ceviche. Arrived with a warm welcome from Jason. Ordered the Chicken sopas, Ceviche Camerones, Poke Nachos and Classic Margaritas. The Margaritas were made perfectly balanced. The Camarones Ceviche was delicious, then served was our Poke nachos which were so addicting, the ingredients were fresh. Very nice touch with fresh flowers on each table. The chips and guacamole were fresh and simple. The Salmon ceviche was my favorite but my boyfriend said it was too salty. He preferred the coconut ceviche. Since it was happy hour and I was headed to work I asked for a ginger beer. The mules are normally $9 and he charged me only $8 for an entire 16oz bottle of ginger beer which was fantastic. Its cozy with a small menu but we will defiantly go back for taquilla. read more

My wife and I stopped by here right after eating elsewhere just to try some drinks. Aye, no! The food we saw coming out looked amazing. I had a poblano infused mezcal drink that I fell in love with--so of course I had two--and my wife had a mezcal hot toddy in a real cool mug. My husband and I stumbled across this place as we were driving around looking for a place to have a drink. It is a very cozy bar/restaurant. I don't usually drink alcohol but it was my birthday and our anniversary weekend so I decided to unwind a little. We ordered the the mint mojito and Paloma. My mint mojito was so delicious that I slurped it down like it was soda so I had to order another. My husband didn't really like his Paloma so he asked the bartender if he could make a Pimms Cup (which was not on the menu). The bartender said he could make it but he didn't have Pimms gin, which was perfectly fine. He whipped it up and we loved it!! It was so refreshing but also tasted like a sour belt candy.
