The most famous Dive Bar in America!

Okay no Down Town Vegas Bar Crawl is complete without a stop at the World Famous Double Down! It doesn't matter if you start here or end up here as long as you get here! A+ people watching location, always a show! No Bullshit Bartenders do don't be asking for no fancy bullshit crafted cocktails! Simple is best, cold beers and shots! Always a good time!

Many years ago, I graduated from UNLV and recently my wife and I went back to Vegas to a birthday party. My college friend invited me to go to a Rebels basketball game. After the game, he said that he was going to take me to an off the Strip dive bar. This place caters primarily for locals in particularly casino workers. We sat at the bar as my friend wanted to play video poker. I don't gamble but he insisted and put money in my machine. It was entertaining. They had a live rock band and the music is loud. It is the ultimate dive bar with inexpensive drinks, a funky atmosphere, very dark with signs and stickers on the walls. One thing I didn't like was that smoking is allowed, but as a former smoker I can tolerate to a point. I have recommended the place to people visiting Vegas!

Best dive bar I could find in Vegas. I said "I want a place with dollar bills on the ceiling" lmao and that's what I found. Such a fun vibe! I'll be back next time I'm in town for sure.

This place is awesome, there's so much to see and take pictures of. Every inch of that place was covered in stickers it was awesome. It's like punk rock heaven for a punk rockers. The parking lot is a little small, but we took an Uber there so we did not have to worry about that. The place is not huge inside but they have a bar and places to sit with tables around. They also have a juke box which was amazing, and a vending machine, awesome touch. The bathrooms are amazing to look at you. There's so much to see inside there. It's not the cleanest place but what do you expect for a punk rock bar? It's for music and drinking and having a great time with awesome people and friends. We got invited and wanted to support our friends play and watch all the bands play. 4 bands were playing Raptors, Hardship anchors Vegas villains and The Gringos which our friend was playing in so we came to support everyone. Our friend has a recording studio called Straightjacket studios, he recorded the album for the Raptors plus many other bands, and his other friend we met we had dinner with was in Vegas Villains they were awesome. Gringos did an incredible job they were last of the night the show didn't end till after 2am. Everyone did a badass job we had so much fun! Love seeing local bands and just any kind of live music, always soothes the soul. I was so exhausted and in pain from the quick and long drive up but I didn't care was worth it all. All the employees are really nice here too. We got our drinks quickly and they were pretty strong. I was happy to be able to sit down and watch the show, hung out with everybody and had a great time. Thank you to my best friend and her husband and everybody in the band for showing us a great time for playing an amazing show. This place is awesome. I love the name. I thought it really was a salute, but it's a punk rock bar. It's a cool place at checking it out. If that was you they also have slot machines you could play as well. Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

My friend had found this bar somewhere on the internet & wanted to check it out. I was a little hesitant after checking out the pictures on Yelp but I'm always game for checking out new spots (to me) in Vegas. We had gone to a show @ the Virgin hotel this past Sunday afternoon & had decided to head over here after. Its funny because I have been to another business right across the street & can't say I remember seeing this bar when I was there. I already kinda knew what to expect prior to entering as I had seen the pictures & read some reviews on Yelp. Placed looked like the pictures. We sat @ the bar & was greeted right away by the bartender Samson and he took our drink orders & I had asked him if I could get a player's card. He wasn't able to get me one on his 1st try some computer issues but then had checked the system & grabbed my ID again and gave me a card. We gambled a little bit & had a couple of drinks. I had asked what was in the ass juice but it was a secret & he wouldn't tell me...lol So that was a No for us, though the toilet bowls its served in is sooo cute. $20 if you want to purchase one. There was a pool table & a photo booth. Photos cost $5.00. I LOVE photo booths & totally forget to get some pics before I left. They have a little vending machine with some snacks in it. Thank God I didn't have to use the bathroom because I was too scared to go in there & touch anything yet alone sit on the toilet seat, which I wouldn't have after seeing the pics...lol I don't know how this place isn't a big infection risks due to all the stickers & I'm guessing all the little germs that can/may crawl under the edges but I'm guessing the state allows this. There were a lot of money bills hanging from the ceiling above the bar that had been written all over & I did notice off to the side there was 4 poker machines all together which seemed like a cool area, one of them wasn't working. There wasn't many customers in there. We were probably there around 7pm on a Sunday night. I'd definitely stop in here again if friend's wanted to check it out or if I was in the area. Samson gave us great attention & service. Thanks!

Fun bar with a lot of cheap drinks. It may be in kind of a sketchy location, but that helps make it cool to be honest. Double Down Saloon isn't a country bar. More like punk and metal to be like it. They also play cool music videos. Avoided this place for a long time because I thought it was a country bar. It's actually not of course. This is pretty close to UNLV. Lots of craziness. The best thing is the prices. It's about $5 for cocktails. There's a shit ton of whiskey. Hip atmosphere. There's screens up all over the place and they play funny music videos like Cheech and Chong and that kind of stuff. Cheap drinks and loud music. It's a pretty good description of it for sure. There's certainly better looking places but who cares about that though.

Love the Double Down Saloon! The best dive bar in Las Vegas. You can sit at the bar and watch old movies or play some video poker. There's a Photo Booth for everyone to take a photo for a few bucks or play pool. Some nights there is a band from different genres.

Good dancing floor there? type of music?

Does this place have liars dice games?

Nope. Just video poker at the bar.

When is Happy Hour?

The Double Down doesn't really have Happy Hour. They always have drink specials on certain days.

I'm visiting from out of the country. Do they have WiFi?

Yes they do.

Do you get to keep the ass juice shot glasses?

You can buy one of those toilet shot glasses. I got one back in November.

Although we arrived without a reservation, our party of five was seated immediately. The menu here is extensive! There's your typical German fare like pretzels and sausages, but they also have items less common items on the menu as well, like pork shank. My wife and I ultimately settled on sharing the "(376) paniertes Jägerschnitzel". If you're stuck between the paniertes Jägerschnitzel and (375) Jägerschnitzel like we were, the only difference is that the former is fried. The pork cutlet was thinly pounded and well-fried. Though the pork was slightly on the drier side, the mushroom gravy smothered on top definitely made up for it. I didn't feel like the crispy fried onions on top of the gravy were needed, but like adding bacon to a dish that doesn't necessarily call for it, the crispy fried onions were welcomed and added a salty, crispy pop of flavor. In addition to the Jägerschnitzel, I had a chance to try out the "kartoffelpuffer mit apfelmus" -- crisp and golden brown potato pancakes, served with apple sauce and a side of sour cream. Like the Jägerschnitzel, the pancakes were also well fried: not too oily and incredibly crispy. The dish came with a very generous serving of apple sauce as well. My only qualm about Hofbräuhaus is it felt like their beer menu was fairly limited. In total, there were only four beer options offered on the menu. Also, I was a bit surprised that a 2L boot option was absent from the menu. Overall, Hofbräuhaus is a solid spot to swing by if you're craving German food and Bavarian flavors.

The bill ended up being nearly $250, with multiple add on charges throughout the meal. The server did mention ahead of time that there would be a charge for the kids cup since they don't offer disposable cups with straws, but paying almost $9.50 total for a child's apple juice and a basic non-souvenir cup felt excessive. The pretzel also didn't clearly indicate that the beer cheese was an extra charge, and there was an additional "house charge" added to the bill as well. The food itself was decent, but the overall experience became uncomfortable after payment when the tip amount was questioned. Between the pricing and the extra fees, the experience just didn't feel worth the cost.

In the club, for the first hour there was a small crowd there, and then it picked up the later it got. It was still a fun time. The music was jammin, go go boys were great, and it had a fun atmosphere. I had a conversation with a local who explained the layout of the full nightclub and the different sections. I would go back for sure and would love to see the rest of it. Not much of a nightclub person, that was more my late 20's, but I am glad I went and folks of all ages.

It adds a level of excitement and credibility to the shows that really sets the venue apart. Located on Twain Avenue, between Palos Verdes Street and Paradise Road. Their AYCD Thursday Nights (9PM to 1AM) is incredible and similar to their Sunday Funday beer bust, 4PM to 8PM. Located directly next door to FLEX, FHR offers more a rustic vibe, very leather/levi bar welcome of all. They have great bear nights, support local on goings like Las Vegas Pride, Smokeout Las Vegas and numerous others. The bartenders as well as the barbacks are plenty personable, with a lot of personality. Jukebox is solid and you can even download the AMI Play app which works for their Jukebox and similar digital Jukeboxes wherever you go. I got a couple of songs in. It can fill up fast depending on the night, time of day or day of the week and/or weekend. I can tell you Friday through Sunday was very busy, especially Saturday nights. It was great to hangout with my buds back from LA, run into friends from other states visiting for the weekend and make some new ones as well. Cigar friendly, but it can get a little smokey inside, even with the doors open, you can smoke outside as well, just no drinks allowed outside of the bar. There's plenty of parking, though rideshare or a great designated driver is your friend. Reminds me a little of some of my favorite gay dive bars in Los Angeles, as well as other areas and states. Sure, the place is dumpy and smoky, but the drinks, are good, and cheap. They give you a good bang for your buck. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, are nights I'm happy to meet any of my friends, or be their designated driver, since I don't drink anymore. Adam makes it a fun, and safe place to be. He is what every bartender should be. They are LUCKY to have him. So many of my friends that own bars, want him, to work for them. I've never met the owner, but he must be a great guy. Adam is very loyal to him, and treats the bar, like it's his. He cares about it! It's always clean, when he's on shift. I've had a lot of fun, over the years, here. Of course it's better when I win, on their video poker machines. Been DEALT aces, with a kicker, several times. I won't talk about when I lose. This bar, with Adam, at the helm, is a guaranteed winner. No doubt about it. I'm born here. NO ONE knows Vegas like I do. I know ALL the good spots. They will put on a show here and there by juggling bottles, offering free swigs of mixed drinks, and other debauchery. Service (4/5): Given that it's a small bar, you're not competing with a lot of people to get the bartenders' attention. With that being said, they had multiple bartenders and that definitely helps. Pretty good overall. Food (N/A): They don't serve food. Drinks (3.5): I used by BOGO deal (which you can use on anything) for two orange tea shots. Not a lot of bars have the orange Jameson needed to make this shot, so I couldn't say no when I saw it. My excitement died down a little bit when I found out the one shot is $18. Taking the deal into account, it's still a pretty good deal as you're paying $9 per shot. Normally though, $18 is pretty steep for a mixed shot, so they close the gap on the deal by upping the price of the original drink a bit. All good though. Still a chill spot to turn up.

I understand when a place is busy--but being busy shouldn't mean being ignored. We sat at the bar for about 15 minutes without a single acknowledgment. We decided to give it 5 more minutes before leaving, and finally at around 18 minutes, a bartender came over to take our order. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve from there. Our food came out before our drinks, which already felt off. After finally getting our drinks and finishing them, we waited to order another round--but again, no acknowledgment. Meanwhile, multiple new guests came up to the bar and were helped before us. At one point, we were told "I'll be right with you," but then watched as they helped several other people, poured drinks, and even took shots with coworkers while continuing to ignore us. We kept getting the "two minutes" hand signal, but no follow-through. Eventually, I had to go to the well to ask for our tab. I was told "no problem," but then stood there for another 5 minutes while the bartender walked around helping others before finally getting it for me. It wasn't just slow--it felt dismissive and frustrating. I've had good experiences here before, which made this even more disappointing. Hoping this was just an off night, but something definitely needs to improve with service and awareness.
