For how central the location is and the theming of the bar (which is so cute, although it doesn't rotate!), I thought the drinks were very reasonably priced. The misters were on, and the frozen drinks really helped with the summer heat. Such a nice reprieve! The mixed drinks are better than the frozen drinks, but the iciness was just what I needed. The signature drinks are really good, and so is the mojito! One of the bartenders recommended the mojito because she said it was a specialty here and we're glad we trusted her. Service was on point. If you have some time to spare in downtown, I think this is a worthy spot! read more

A bar, yes they have many of these on Fremont and all over Las Vegas ! This one is different, it's carousel themed but it does not move! Depending on how many drinks that you have! Cheers! Remember it's Las Vegas and we are celebrating! Ride the carousel with me! This is a walk up bar primarily! It's located outside the Plaza Hotel in the middle. If you get lost a Pink Box is right next to it . Now you're not allowed to ride the carousel horses that are located around the outer limited but come in and have a drink ! The staff is awaiting you and ready to pour what you need ! Shall we drink to that. Life is short and hard we need something to aid us. Ride the carousel of life with me as we sip our drink. Sit next to someone and make a new friend. Hopefully you can bring someone special to make you smile when you come here. Make every dream you have possible and a reality. Cool bar at the end of the Fremont experience. Really disappointed it doesn't actually rotate. It totally should. We had a nice time hanging out and people watching. Got a drink called the caffeine drip. It was odd having banana and coffee in it but it was pretty good. The ambiance is great. read more

I really love this location and bar, which has heaters for the outdoor chilly nights but be prepared to spend here as none of the drinks are inexpensive. The service is usually friendly enough but you're not getting a local hangout feel here. If people watching is your thing, this is a great spot and the drinks are not weak thankfully! read more

Came here at the end of the night for some drinks. It's quieter than being right in Fremont street and we wanted to talk. We received quick service and they had booths to sit at, but they don't really accommodate a larger group. We had two booths and people at the bar. While it was quieter, it was also a lot with all of the lights. I don't think I could be there for more than couple of hours. read more

This bar is just kind of in the middle of everything. Quite literally a bar with seating all around it! The lights were blurry in my photo but frankly so was I after drinking around Old Vegas for the day!!! Bartenders were friendly and chatty as when we stopped it wasn't too busy. The do not offer food but the drinks are spectacular and pricing is on par with everything else around. I cannot remember if there was a happy hour but frankly it was worth popping in for a drink even without it! read more

What a cool spot! This entire bar is made to look just like a Carousel and is located right outside of the Plaza Hotel on Fremont. It's such a beautiful bar! Came here after an event to grab a night cap. I love spots like this because it really gives you that old Vegas feel. The glitz and glam of the lights. Stunning! Found a seat at the bar as it wasn't super busy during the week. They also had space heaters so even though it was a little chilly out, I felt nice and warm next to the heater. I ordered the Caffeine Drip and my husband ordered Oscar's Old Fashioned. I love that they had a cocktail named after Oscar Goodman, the old mayor of Vegas haha. My drink was delicious and honestly tasted a lot like an espresso martini. My husband's old fashioned was delicious and strong, too. We really enjoyed our cocktails here! Pricing is about in line with Strip pricing. Our cocktails were about $15-16 each. Well worth it since the cocktails were made right in front of us and truly delicious. Definitely would come back here again and what a fun spot to grab a bevvy! read more

Stopped by Carousel Bar and really enjoyed the vibe. The outdoor setting under the lights of Main Street and Fremont is definitely a highlight. The drink menu is solid, with signature cocktails, cold beers, and bartenders who know their stuff. Seating is decent, and the location works great if you're already downtown. The open-air setup gives you plenty of people-watching and street-life energy. Overall, it's a great spot for a pre-drink or a chill cocktail outing downtown with a fun design, solid drinks, and a relaxed ambiance. read more

What a fun Bar my friend and I were in town for a show at the Venetian and we decided to spend one night in Fremont and I absolutely love it. I prefer it over the strip. I love the old vibe and the local field and the loud music and people just having fun and this bar is kind of in the middle of all of that my bartender I do forget her name she was very sweet prompt. We had very good drinks. I've got the frozen daiquiri I believe and it was decent and I had a nice little buzz going for the time that I went sightseeing with my girlfriend, this is definitely a bar that I will return to, and not to mention it's literally on a carousel. read more

The prettiest bar!! I was drawn to their lights like a moth to a flame. My partner and I shared an "Adult Capri Sun" -- it even comes in a juice pouch-esque bag with colorful bendy straws. Beautiful spot and reasonable prices! read more

This was a very cool surprise as I walked the length of Fremont with my brother in town! I had seen it on social media but hadn't been yet, and this chilly afternoon was the perfect opportunity! The entire bar is very whimsical as an outdoor concept with carousel architecture. The entire place had heaters, which was great, and consisted of booth seating in a large circle with bar seating in the inner circle. The menu was inventive and delicious looking, and I spoke with the bartender about her opinion, opting for the hot chocolate beverage she suggested with liquor 43. Everything came out perfect and it wasn't crazy expensive in my opinion for a Fremont bar. The bloody Mary my sister in law had was spectacular, and everything had a lovely rim and or garnish. Bar staff was helpful and kind, and I would definitely suggest stopping here on your next trip to Fremont! read more

A recent addition to downtown right in front of The Plaza hotel near the end of Fremont street. We visited late afternoon on a Sunday and had no issue grabbing two seats at the very large circular bar. They give a cocktail menu with drinks in the $15 range and we ordered two; the soggy and sandy (fruity, frothy, not very strong but in your choice of a whimsical tiki style cup) and old fashioned (standard, nothing fancy). They have varieties of beers, seltzers and shots as well. Bartenders were hit or miss. Ours was very nice but others seemed not interested in interacting with patrons. Since the bar is so large, it's a little hard to make small talk with those nearby you, which is one of the funnest things to do at a bar! We were also disappointed that the bar didn't rotate. For some reason we thought it did but probably just a misconceptions based on our experience at other bars this style. You got a bit of a carousel feel with the round bar and a rotating mirrors above the center. If you want a true rotating experience, visit an alternate bar one block up on Fremont. It's an ok bar, a little on the higher price side for downtown but cheaper than the strip. read more

I've seen this place a 1000 times and never stopped so I decided I was gonna sit down and have a drink or 2 well, that turned into about 3 hrs of drinking . There's nothing really "flashy" about it, yea it's Vegas and is alittle extra with the lights and what not but when the weathers nice and your not getting beat down by the heat it's a great place to sit outside and people watch. There's always people there even when it's slow cause it's on the street and just behind Fremont, there's always webbing photos being taken cause apparently this is a hip spot for that. They have some misters that go off every so often to keep the temp down and the bartenders a cool. It's just a cool place to sit and watch some traffic go by and people watch, there's 2 things this place misses the mark? No food and No happy Hr. Everyday around happy hr is when I would leave and go to another spot, other than that it's a cool place to chill if the weathers nice. read more

The Carousel Bar was my choice for nightcaps during my most recent stays downtown at the Plaza Hotel. It does not disappoint. It's located right in front of the Plaza, and Fremont street is just a crosswalk away. So it's great for people watching. The bartending is good, and the prices are reasonable at least for beer. For instance, a 32 ounce draft beer is $14.00 and some change with the tax. If you do the math, that's essentially two tallboys for about $7.00 each. It's roomy with lots of seats, and there is video gaming at a lot of the seats. The name is a bit of a misnomer, though. The bar doesn't actually spin. That might be a good thing. When the weather is nice, it can't be beat. It closes at midnight with last call being called roughly at 11:30 p.m. or so. Cheers! read more

Mood: New spot downtown Super fun, cute, and new downtown Fremont bar! If you are looking to grab a tropical drink and people watch under the historic downtown Plaza Hotel. We had the sweetest server who gave us a cool run down of the menu and signature cocktails. Drinks: Carousel Grand Pineapple 7/10: a while pineapple is very nice filled with rum, frozen Pina colada and captain Morgan. Nothing really too special over all but it's tasty and good size. Miami Vice: Strawberry and Pina Colada Daiquiri :7/10 Yes it's a typical daiquiri so don't look for something special I really gave it a 7 because the size of the cup. So glad I came to see this new bar. I was intrigued since it was inspired by the New Orleans bar, but I was hoping for a more carousel feel or maybe real carousel horses as seats, but it's not very over the top. First time hitting this spot. Sits by itself, but literally across the street from all the partying on Freemont. It's an outdoor bar with plenty of sitting. It was a chill atmosphere on the night that I went. Wanted to see what it was all about and ordered a drink. I didn't see the drink that I wanted on the menu, but the waitress said that she could fix it for me, and she did. I wanted to take a cup as a souvenir. My partner ordered a frozen strawberry margarita, and I ordered a long island iced tea with the souvenir cup. Both came to $42. read more

All the stars for good bartenders, good music, they were playing 90's. The nice ambiance, awesome prepared drinks, they were all absolutely well crafted and delicious. The Manhattans, Bloody Mary's were spot on. BUT, the bar does not slowly move in carousel circle because of insurance liabilities. Anyway if you've been to the original New Orleans carousel bar be prepared to be disappointed that this one doesn't carousel lol. read more

Such a fun addition to Freemont! This is a great hangout to relax and people watch, the bar sits right in front of the Plaza and overlooks Freemont St. we came here multiple days and the staff was hit or miss but the drinks were good and the ambiance was on point. They've got booth and bar seating and there is a ramp so scooters and wheelchairs can access the bar as well. read more

Maria at the Carousel bar is clearly very unhappy with her job. We ordered several drinks, one of which was a vodka soda that tasted like it had jalapeño in it. We asked if she could re-make that drink before we paid, and she attempted to snatch the credit card out of our hands before she fixed the problem. She then proceeded to call us rude and refuse service, all because we didn't like her drink. Why are you so mad, Maria? Very cringe. read more

We started with dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Pub, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Thankfully, we still had some time before the concert, so as a huge Lisa Vanderpump fan, we decided to stop by Vanderpump Garden for a cocktail. What a difference! From the moment we walked in, we were treated so warmly. The host who greeted and seated us completely turned our evening around. He was everywhere--cleaning tables, delivering meals, helping guests, managing reservations--and somehow did it all with genuine enthusiasm, professionalism, and kindness. You could tell he truly cared about every guest's experience. I even asked to take a photo with him because he made such an impression on us. Employees like him are rare, and I sincerely hope management recognizes what an incredible ambassador he is for your restaurant. He absolutely made our night and reminded us what outstanding hospitality looks like. We'll definitely be back for the cocktails, the atmosphere, and especially the exceptional service. Thank you for turning what started as a disappointing evening into a wonderful memory!

While I can't know what she was thinking, the lack of any acknowledgment made us feel overlooked and unimportant. A small gesture of kindness or appreciation toward the patrons who support the business would have gone a long way.

The Laundry Room

The Laundry Room is a cool, intimate speakeasy located within downtown LV. Only 16 people are…read moreallowed in at one time, you need a reservation, and there's a dress code. We were seated at the bar and had a nice time interacting with the cocktail craftsman/man in charge, Davey. The menu is his creative brainchild and changes a few times a year, with the current one based on the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. There's a 90 minute limit and 2 drink minimum per guest. Because of the craft and attention to detail that goes into each cocktail, we finished our 2 drinks just about right at the 90 minute mark. I really enjoyed both of my cocktails but the one that stood out to me the most was Strange Medicine. It was reminiscent of a martini but with Brie-washed Old Bison vodka, Cocchi Americano, and herb oil. It was so good that I wasn't sure what drink to choose next, but Davey was helpful with a great recommendation for another cocktail served with a chunk of parmesan cheese on top. Keep in mind that you're paying for the experience and the level of craft. So with a 2 drink minimum it won't be a cheap experience but it's definitely something worth checking out for the unique, creative cocktails.

Pro: Fear and Loathing menu, updated furniture, yummy drinks…read more Con: Not the previous Laundry Room you remembered, glorified tourist trap, lack of atmosphere control. Slow drink service. The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.
