WOW. I spent weeks searching for an art class for my 10-year old granddaughter. Sarah King responded, others didn't. After the first class with Edgar, Annabel was so excited and eager to continue. Edgar spent time with her explaining 'how' to draw... sounds basic, but as it turns out, isn't. Her dog portrait was pretty good for first try. After the second class with Sarah, Annabel emerged saying, "Nana, I love art class, can I go every day?" Well, she is working on a portrait of her and her Mom now and she can't wait for next week's class. Sarah King has a truly very nurturing, nourishing energy and it is palpable in the studio and the other students. After class Wednesday, Annabel drew a picture of her at softball from her phone. I'm sorry - what a JOKE!! signed up the kids for summer camp. all they came home with was pencil drawings on paper. Video Game week - for 5 days all I see is one drawing of a mushroom. waste of time and money. Also, on the second day of Video Game week, I walk my son in and Mr. Edgar is yelling at a little girl saying, "Pack up your stuff!! You are not full day!!" She starts crying. My friend found this place and we decided to go for her bday. First off the price was great we got in at a $19 special. Your allowed to bring food and beverages. You'll have a ton of fun painting and interacting with the other painters. Unless you're Bob Ross or Picasso don't expect your painting to come out exactly like the picture. I wish I could put no stars!!! My son is interested in drawing lessons and we finally found one in our area. So we drove there to get info and to start him in classes right away. We sit and wait because there is a sign that says please wait in the reception area until your instructor is ready for you. I can hear the class that is finishing up, so we wait. When the people walk out we wait for someone to help us, meantime the entire time we were waiting a man instructor came by and looked at me twice and never said a word. So we wait. Then they proceed to have a conversation right in the hallway still ignoring us. Then the woman instructor starts taking out trash bags and cleaning while saying" well since it's just us two here, I'll clean up a little while you finish with your student". He says his student is ok and they keep chatting like we're not there. By now I'm furious and I want to leave but my son wants to wait because he is anxious to learn, so we wait and they both glance our way 2 more times and I jump up to leave! Why????!!!! My daughter was going here for a few months she loved it at first. I was given a packet of papers showing what she will be learning over the period of like a year or so, but really she just ended up being told to bring a tablet and a sketch book so I felt as tho she could just do that at home why am I paying $100 for 4 classes ? And my daughter got bored of it and didn't want to do it anymore So I asked for a refund for 3 classes that she didn't do yet cuz u pay for the month and no refunds people ! This art studio is absolutely fantastic! I read all the other negative reviews and kept it in mind prior to me visiting. After having multiple conversations and going there and seeing how they operate and getting a feel for the environment I found the past reviews a bit ridiculous. King art Studio answered all my questions had multiple time slots available 7 days a week. You are able to make up a class at any given time! Plus they are not RUDE! You do need to pay a head prior to your classes and if you decide it is not for you, then you simply finish your classes and not sign up anymore. The Bonus is, they supply everything! But you do have the option to bring your own sketchbook. My suggestion is to highly ignore the negative reviews below and research on your own. And not to forget everyone is an artist! read more

I have been coming here for over a year and I felt that my drawings have improved a lot. I started off on zoom because of corona but once we were able to get back in person everything was fine. Awesome for children! Keira started when she was 3 1/2 years old and hasn't been there in awhile but will be back. She loved going there and was actually learning art and I could see results whenever she colored or painted at home. Love this studio its great, clean, very organized, and gave a variety of things for her to do. Very good to nurture creativity in children and reasonably priced. I have been taking classes at King Art Studio or several months. The instructors there are all well trained in their craft. Sarah, the studio owner is sweet and professional. My instructor, Edgar is truly amazing. He absolutely loves his work and is very encouraging to his students. I have learned so much from him. He always has a smile on his face and it's easy to tell that he enjoys teaching. I am astounded by what I have learned in such a short time! I look forward to my weekly class and hope to be studying there for awhile. I cannot say enough about this studio. They all have vast knowledge and excellent teaching skills. I saw an article in the Henderson Happenings about the King Art Studio and decided to give it a try a year ago. It was such a great decision for our eight year old. Her lessons started by painting a still life so that they could assess her abilities and skill level. Since then, she has completed a myriad of different painting themes and her skill level has dramatically improved. The teachers are patient, kind and skilled in working with children. We plan on keeping our child enrolled until she can apply for the arts high school! I highly recommend the King Art Studio to anyone with children who have an affinity for the arts. read more

Too bad I can't rate no stars. The owner is more like a car salesman than a children's art teacher. He is unwilling to answer basic questions about his background without being defensive. He can not grasp that if you are going to be teaching people's children and teaching them art that you need to be willing to speak to parents about your background, experience and methods in an open manner. Very unwelcoming, arrogant and hostile. He put a wet blanket on my children's enthusiasm before they ever took a single class. My kids were put off as soon as we walked in the door.
