She's very patient with the kids and I like that she's also flexible and accommodating, in terms of rescheduling the kids' lesson when needed (of course, given that her schedule allows). Her rate is very reasonable. She's a member of the MTAC (Music Teachers' Association of CA) which is a plus! Overall, I would recommend Dana :)

It was so nice to have her come to my home and give me solid one-on-one time, which was exactly what I needed as a group class environment would not have cut it. On top of addressing the issue I was having with my project and as I am a beginner to sewing, she went over sewing machine 101 basics and also had me make a zippered pillow cover, which was great as I had only done envelope pillow covers before. The pillow turned out great an I love the zipper closure! On top of it all Donna has a bright and funny personality which makes working with a lot of fun!

I can say without a doubt, that my wife and I believe Mountain View is the best private elementary school there is. It has that small town, small school feel, with advanced academics. The ratio of teacher to student is much lower than most schools. All the teachers and staff are amazing and engaged, and Mr. Schneider is an incredible principal. Everything they do just feels right and our little loves going to school everyday. They also have a multitude of festivals, choir events, clubs, and sports. It's amazing what they are able to provide with such a small campus. I can't say enough good things about Mountain View.

I should have done my review sooner, but better late than never. My daughter Jenna attended…read moreMountain View from kindergarten through fifth grade, and she loved it. (She's in 8th grade now.) Class sizes are small and it is very much a community in that school. All the teachers know all the children and the children all know one another, regardless of grade. The religious foundation that my daughter received at Mountain View has helped to shape the person she is today, and I'm grateful for that. We love the ladies in the front office and my daughter was always crazy about Mr. Schneider, the principal. He takes the time to get to know each child. Every Monday he would ask Jenna if she had played softball over the weekend and how she did. In fact, he even surprised her when he showed up at one of her softball games. To say that it made her day is an understatement. While I don't think the education she received at Mountain View is better or worse than what she would have received anywhere else, the foundation she did receive shaped who she is. She is in a charter school today and is a National Junior Honor Society member, so clearly Mountain View did something right. I am glad my daughter attended Mountain View. Many of the teachers (current and former), teachers' aides and other staff still stay in touch via social media to see how Jenna is doing. Can't ask for better.

I liked how she would send out an email every Sunday explaining what we would be doing in our upcoming class. I learned an immense amount of information including: how to use certain tools, routers, hinging, cutting grooves, where to buy lumber, how to inlay plugs, her recommendations on the best wood working books, how to sand, the list goes on and on! My middle school-age daughter really enjoyed going, and we loved the small class sizes. She went her entire 6th-grade year with no issues. I was the President of the PTO and spent hours of my own time and hundreds of dollars to support the school. This year, she had a few minor issues related to her autism and tic disorder come up that were completely blown out of proportion, and within a month she ended up being kicked out. She was not a bully and not violent. They did very little to work with her, and when we requested supports and accommodations they were refused. We have a pending discrimination case open with the state of Nevada and will be filing a complaint with the Nevada Department of Education. We are devastated with how this was handled. If you're looking for a great tutoring center in the north part of town, I highly recommend…read moreTutoring Club of North Las Vegas! Background: When covid happened, we pulled our daughter, Mackenzie, out of preschool that spring and she stayed out of the school environment through the summer. She started kindergarten virtually, but unfortunately, she was one that did not build a good enough foundation to help her succeed in her schoolwork, even after they went back in person. Fall 2022: Fast forward to this school year, and we're at parent teacher conferences reviewing her MAP scores. She was essentially reading at a kindergarten level, and performing at a 1st-ish grade level in math. So, we needed to do something to help her catch up. We researched several places local centers and also considered private tutoring from teacher friends. We decided on The Tutoring Club for several reasons: 1) We liked the director, Jessica, who had the same ideology of how we learned "back when we were in school" and how their curriculum supported it. 2) We liked the flexibility to help Mackenzie with her school work, in addition to the curriculum they had her do. 3) We liked that it's a brick and mortar. We can always count on them being there, and they are also reasonable with absences - if we had to miss a day here and there because of our other extracurricular activities. Mackenzie started attending tutoring in mid-October and went for 2 hour sessions, 3 days a week. She loved it! The tutors incentivized the work so that she had a goal. They made it fun for her, and it motivated her to want to learn to read. The tutors are friendly and they made the experience enjoyable for her. Spring 2023: It's now May, and we received Mackenzie's final MAP scores of the year. Her test scores substantially grew over the entire school year, and she is now above grade level for both subjects! I would attribute her success completely to the work that the Tutoring Club has done with her, as we never changed anything in our home life. We are so grateful for the help that the Tutoring Club provided, and again, we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great tutoring center in North Las Vegas!
