During that conversation, instead of addressing my question, he repeatedly said, "I don't remember you," at least six times. I had already acknowledged that I reached out later than I should have and did not expect him to remember me. My only concern was understanding why I didn't receive an original key. From the beginning of that interaction, he came across as defensive and did not clearly answer my question.

Eli convinced us that it was unnecessary and useless. We agreed. Then we noted almost in passing that we had been having problems with our fancy Baldwin front door lock, occasionally locking us out and it was difficult to throw the deadbolt from the inside. Eli informed us that our current assembly was a code violation and we should change the dead bolt mechanism from a key operation to a thumb operation. He ordered the proper part and returned the next day only to find that the entire internal lock assembly was not operational. He had to completely disassemble the lock, file parts, move things around, and two hours later finally had it working. Quite a challenge. We are very pleased with this guy and would not hesitate to use him again for his expertise, promptness and attitude. One of the very good service people we've used.

Then I had to have a second experience with them: The lock started sticking more and more, to the point where I was concerned the key would snap off. I called him, he hung up on me mid-question (saying his wife would call me back to schedule things). I called back and he sent me to voicemail; at that point I got fed up. By the time his wife called me back: - I requested quotes from Yelp - Another locksmith reached out, gave a quote - That new locksmith showed up, replaced the lock entirely, and spent time shaping the lock according to the shape of the doorframe. So by the time Paul's wife called me back, I started to say "look, I don't need your services, someone already fixed it for me".
