I have locked myself out of the house twice in the last year. The first night was horrible. I had called a bunch of 800 numbers and even went to Home Advisor looking for help. Almost every one was awful. The guy who finally did it was "okay" but I wouldn't go so far as to write a review as he was courtesy of one of those 800 services. This time I was at work, my key had broken in the lock that morning, and we were having a horrific wind, ice and snow storm. I called a few places and most were, "Whatever...let us know when you get home..." I didn't have any keys with me so I couldn't wait in my car. I would have been sitting outside in terrible weather. The last time it happened I had waited over an hour for the guy who charged me over $200. This time Mike stayed in touch with me via phone and text. The trains were late due to the bad weather, but he waited and and met me at my house. He got my broken key out of the lock with no charge. Asked me, via text, if I wanted him to open the side door and I said yes. Therefore, all was open when I got home and I paid him and he was on his way. EXCELLENT LOCAL SERVICE. Top notch. I was able to get through to Mike immediately, who forwarded me to his specialist Walter. He ordered the key I needed, because it was a more rare key, and showed up same day that he received it. He used his expertise to get the job done.. and it was a tough one. There was an issue with the key FOB sensor (on the manufacturers side) but Walter made sure that the key was usable, followed up, and came right back to straighten everything out. Very respectful, understanding, knowledgeable, and professional. He also went out of his way to explain everything to me. I would definitely recommend giving these guys a call if you need any metal keys cut or even need a key FOB replacement (which is what I needed). We just bought a new house, and needed our locks and keys changed - Mike was fantastic! We called him and he picked up while out on his day off and scheduled to call me the next day. He called exactly when he said he would and was available to come change all our locks as soon as we needed him. We texted throughout the week, and he was immediately responsive every time. He asked for pictures of the locks and keys, and was able to give us a sense of pricing based on the pictures before he came. He arrived on time and worked tirelessly, even making sure that he wasn't in the way of us as we moved, or that kids or dogs were not around to pick up small pieces he was working with. I've dealt with many locksmiths. On the last three occasions I dealt with Mike. As long as I live in the Mt. Pleasant area, I will not go to anyone else. He is the best, by far, in every way. He's an unusually skilled craftsman who takes pride in his work, gives immediate service, charges less than other locksmiths, and treats customers as friends. When I needed a key for a 40 year old door lock, he was the only locksmith in town who had the unusual blank. Cutting that key was difficult, but it worked perfectly. I would like to give Mike 10 stars! We discovered our basement door deadbolt wasn't working properly and left that door unlocked. I looked onto Yelp and Mike's Locksmiths had a glowing reviews. I looked no further and gave him a call. He was at our home in 15 minutes and braved the cold to fix two doors that had the lock sets not quite properly installed. I have never had to use a locksmith before in this area, and I called Mike based on all the positive reviews here. I was not disappointed. We had a lock on the house that had never worked properly in over two years and he immediately figured out the problem and fixed it in a few minutes (he also quickly adjusted the door so that it all lined up properly). Called Mike as we accidently locked ourselves out of the side door of our garage. All doors were locked and we had no key. It was a Saturday morning and Mike was there in 10 minutes. He quickly opened the lock and then offered to make a key for it as we did not own a key to that particular lock! Also made extras. I was locked out of my car and for a very reasonable price, Mike diagnosed my issue as a dead battery in my key and fixed it in 15 minutes avoiding the need of having a locksmith come to my car which would have cost substantially more. Mike was great! My doorknob broke and I got locked out of my house. He arrived in about 5 minutes and even though the job was much more difficult than he anticipated he still got the door open in less than 10 minutes.
