I have locked myself out of the house twice in the last year. The first night was horrible. I had called a bunch of 800 numbers and even went to Home Advisor looking for help. Almost every one was awful. The guy who finally did it was "okay" but I wouldn't go so far as to write a review as he was courtesy of one of those 800 services. This time I was at work, my key had broken in the lock that morning, and we were having a horrific wind, ice and snow storm. I called a few places and most were, "Whatever...let us know when you get home..." I didn't have any keys with me so I couldn't wait in my car. I would have been sitting outside in terrible weather. The last time it happened I had waited over an hour for the guy who charged me over $200. This time Mike stayed in touch with me via phone and text. The trains were late due to the bad weather, but he waited and and met me at my house. He got my broken key out of the lock with no charge. Asked me, via text, if I wanted him to open the side door and I said yes. Therefore, all was open when I got home and I paid him and he was on his way. EXCELLENT LOCAL SERVICE. Top notch. I hope to never need him again but if you need a locksmith, he's GREAT! read more

I was able to get through to Mike immediately, who forwarded me to his specialist Walter. He ordered the key I needed, because it was a more rare key, and showed up same day that he received it. He used his expertise to get the job done.. and it was a tough one. There was an issue with the key FOB sensor (on the manufacturers side) but Walter made sure that the key was usable, followed up, and came right back to straighten everything out. Very respectful, understanding, knowledgeable, and professional. He also went out of his way to explain everything to me. I would definitely recommend giving these guys a call if you need any metal keys cut or even need a key FOB replacement (which is what I needed). They get the job done, not to mention, for a very reasonable price. read more

We just bought a new house, and needed our locks and keys changed - Mike was fantastic! We called him and he picked up while out on his day off and scheduled to call me the next day. He called exactly when he said he would and was available to come change all our locks as soon as we needed him. We texted throughout the week, and he was immediately responsive every time. He asked for pictures of the locks and keys, and was able to give us a sense of pricing based on the pictures before he came. He arrived on time and worked tirelessly, even making sure that he wasn't in the way of us as we moved, or that kids or dogs were not around to pick up small pieces he was working with. He was fair with pricing, and changed everything seamlessly. Highly recommend! read more

I've dealt with many locksmiths. On the last three occasions I dealt with Mike. As long as I live in the Mt. Pleasant area, I will not go to anyone else. He is the best, by far, in every way. He's an unusually skilled craftsman who takes pride in his work, gives immediate service, charges less than other locksmiths, and treats customers as friends. When I needed a key for a 40 year old door lock, he was the only locksmith in town who had the unusual blank. Cutting that key was difficult, but it worked perfectly. When I had a problem at home, he came over right away. When he made a spare car key for me, he ran down the block and across the street to test it. read more

I would like to give Mike 10 stars! We discovered our basement door deadbolt wasn't working properly and left that door unlocked. I looked onto Yelp and Mike's Locksmiths had a glowing reviews. I looked no further and gave him a call. He was at our home in 15 minutes and braved the cold to fix two doors that had the lock sets not quite properly installed. He figured out the problem immediately, fixed it quickly, and left no mess! He was kind, knowledgeable and professional. I could not ask for a better service man and a better service call! read more

I have never had to use a locksmith before in this area, and I called Mike based on all the positive reviews here. I was not disappointed. We had a lock on the house that had never worked properly in over two years and he immediately figured out the problem and fixed it in a few minutes (he also quickly adjusted the door so that it all lined up properly). We had no keys for that lock and he was able to make keys on the spot. Also, our need was not urgent, but he was still able to come the day I called him. Very satisfied new customer. read more

Called Mike as we accidently locked ourselves out of the side door of our garage. All doors were locked and we had no key. It was a Saturday morning and Mike was there in 10 minutes. He quickly opened the lock and then offered to make a key for it as we did not own a key to that particular lock! Also made extras. The charge was very reasonable and the convenience of him being there so promptly was very appreciated by us. Mike was professional, courteous...a real gentleman. Highly recommend this company for any lock issues. read more

I had lost keys to a very small, portable safe. Mike was the third locksmith I contacted. The first told me that the safe would have to be destroyed and the cost would be $185. The second told me that would have to be destroyed and the cost be $295. Mike asked me to bring it in and he would take a look. He was able to make two new keys and open the safe for me. Total cost was $25. He was amazing! Great customer service. Fun shop with a lot of vintage items. I could not recommend more highly! read more

If you've thought that honest, efficient, skilled, friendly and courteous service was a thing of the past, you're in for a big surprise. Mike is a find! I can't say enough about how happy I am with the repair he made on our door which was locked and could not be opened by us. You need not spend hours searching for someone you can feel completely comfortable with knowing that you're getting first class, knowledgeable and most importantly, honest service. I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews but feel compelled to do so based on the outstanding and fair-priced service when I was in a bind. I was locked out of my car and for a very reasonable price, Mike diagnosed my issue as a dead battery in my key and fixed it in 15 minutes avoiding the need of having a locksmith come to my car which would have cost substantially more. Simply put, Mike's customer service was outstanding and I expect to use him exclusively in the future. read more

Just had my locks changed in my new home with Mike. He is fantastic! Kind, knowledgable and very reasonably priced. He could have easily tried to get us to spend more for things we actually did not need, and did not do that and had our best interest in mind. His kind of customer service is rare these days and refreshing. Reliable and punctual and went above and beyond when I had him look into additional items in my home. Highly recommend. read more

It was an overall pleasant experience and I highly recommend this company. read more

Mike was great. It was very easy to make an appointment on semi short notice. Mike came by on time and worked quickly, explaining what he was doing along the way. In addition to changing 3 locks on our new house, Mike was able to fix a lose doorknob on the front door. He let us pick keys with designs on them which was fun and offered to make us a few extra copies. Mike was a really nice guy and overall I would highly recommend him! read more

If you live in Northern Westchester and need a lock repair - or new locks installed - do not hesitate to call Mike at Mt. Pleasant Locksmiths. I called this morning after our front door lock failed to work. Mike appeared at my door 30 minutes later. He explained all of the different options, including pricing, repaired the lock and could not have been nicer and more knowledgeable. I will definitely call him again! read more

I am a new homeowner in the area. Called a ton of locksmiths, but Mike was by far the most knowledgeable and put me at ease after speaking with him. Fast forward a day or two later and Mike and Richie show up at the house. Both were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They stopped and took the time to explain to us our options. Long story short, great work from Mike's locksmith. Would HIGHLY recommend. read more

Mike was great! My doorknob broke and I got locked out of my house. He arrived in about 5 minutes and even though the job was much more difficult than he anticipated he still got the door open in less than 10 minutes. He also advised me on the type of knob to get to replace it and where to shop for the best value. Hopefully I won't need his services again, but if I do I would not hesitate to go back!! read more

Wow! I called a little while ago on this snowy Monday to see about getting the locks changed on my new home in Chappaqua. I thought I'd need to make an appointment for some in the future, but Mike arrived in less than half an hour! He quickly re-keyed 4 doors, including a French door that didn't match the others previously. He was cheerful, helpful, and quick! Thanks, Mike! read more

Mike was a life saver! The doorknob of my front door broke and we could not open our door! I contacted Mike in the morning on my way to work, and told him I would ideally need him to come that same afternoon at 3... he was in my driveway waiting for me by 2:55, and I had a new working doorknob and lock within 20 minutes! He even made me extra spare keys at no extra charge! read more

I found Mike on Yelp and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was able to give me a quote over the phone after he identified what kind of lock I needed to have fixed. He came right over and we ended up having him fix a number of other outdated locks. He knows his stuff, he is courteous and efficient and we will definitely be calling him in the future. read more
