The variety here reminds me of the other East-West restaurants that offer some Asian inspired dishes. While the kids' brown rice bowls were quite tasty, their rendition of pad thai above wasn't as well-balanced. Similarly the apps were hit & miss as we enjoyed the Baja Brussel Sprouts with bacon but their $9 Wednesday Wings Night featured some disappointing wings that were on the smaller & drier side despite the blue cheese & ranch sauces. And although the food was relatively mediocre, their vibes and service were quite nice and I can see why the dining area was relative packed and the bar patrons were entertained. For birthdays, they were also kind enough to give a huge ice cream cake slice. We might have to try steak & sushi combo for a full experience next time.

A little pricey but they were generous with the amount of protein, and being 5"2 Asian girl, I had leftovers lol. The very cherry chocolate cheesecake was enjoyable the first few bites for me and my husband, but ended up getting a bit too sweet! Might be better to share with at least one more person. The menu can be quite overwhelming since they give you so many options, but it would be a good spot for large groups. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially during the weekends.

We had to wait 1.5 hours for a table - we decided to explore the Yorkdale mall to kill some time and when we finally got to sit, we were told they ran out of the fried mac and cheese balls which was one of their most popular item and something we really wanted to try. Anyway, our server said she didn't see any bread and will bring us some if she sees it. Kinda weird... We ordered our food and the wait time was quite long. The calamaris were really bad. No taste whatsoever, just deep fried and served. The Asian chicken nachos were okay but it barely had any chicken in it. For mains the chicken madeira was the only highlight of our meal. The chicken was tender and flavourful and the mashed potatoes were really well done (can't go wrong with that, eh?) but the spicy chipotle pasta didn't have enough sauce and it needed a good mix tbh. The taste was good though. The rigatoni was also very mid. Given the average food taste and the service, I don't see myself coming back, that's for sure.

But what can I say? I've never had pork that was as tender and juicy like this! It was so surprising cause the pork souvlaki from food courts are always on the drier side but not here! And the in-house tzatziki sauce? Mouthwatering! The portions (if you've not already heard) are huge and explain the higher price for a plate (around 23$+). If you're not too hungry, you can definitely split a plate. Despite the fast paced environment, the staff kept a good vibe and even offered to have me come back after eating to pick up my cheesecake slice so it can be kept cold until then. That to me shows they care about our experience dining at their restaurant. Can't wait to be back!

I've been to the Hoops downtown Toronto many times, but only because its closest place to get a beer during Fan Expo. The food was average at best so I didnt have high hopes for this location. We wandered in on a Friday night, and boy has it changed since The Smoke was there. There are tv's EVERYWHERE, which is pretty awesome. The place is pretty ugly though. Yeesh. Talk about drab. The staff are all very young and inexperienced, but very nice and accommodating, and got our orders perfectly. This place just opened so I'm sure it wont take long for them to feel more natural and at ease. The bar was impressive and has a great selection of liquors. This place will be perfect for anyone coming just to watch and game and have a drink. Cuz the food is not great. I ordered the special of the day, steak fajitas. They were awful. Steak was overcooked and bitter. Hard to bite through. The veggies were slimy. Yuck. My wife's chilli nachos were pretty good! Fyi there is no kid's menu, so we got our kid chicken fingers and fries. The fries were decent. The chicken fingers were bland but were cooked well and had an awesome crisp to them. But yeah bland chicken fingers. It was also drafty in there. Chilly. Not cozy. They did have a DJ there playing who was good, music gave a good vibe to the place for a Friday night. In the end this place feels like a pub from 15 years ago, when this kind of food was expected from a pub, before all the chain pubs stepped up their food game. Stick to the booze and enjoy the game, and you'll like this place. And hey the fries are good.

The vibe inside is cozy and relaxed with a modern café-bistro feel. It's bright, welcoming, and definitely lives up to the name "Chillax." It feels like the kind of place you can sit and enjoy a slow brunch or a casual dinner without feeling rushed. For brunch, two dishes really stood out. The braised pork eggs Benedict was fantastic. The pork was tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the creamy hollandaise and poached eggs. The gochujang fried chicken brioche burger was another highlight. The chicken was crispy with just the right amount of spice, and the soft brioche bun tied everything together. We also came back for dinner and tried the seafood paella, which was rich, comforting, and packed with seafood. It's definitely a great dish to share. For drinks, the cheesy mango ice matcha was surprisingly good. The mango adds sweetness while the cheese foam makes it creamy and indulgent. A really unique combination that works well. Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, with most dishes around the $20-$30 range. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch, dinner, or just drinks. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

Lighting was very dark - definitely bar vibes - didn't recall if there was any music - all I could hear was the tables nearby bickering. Ordering was simple - and server was pretty nice - however food toke a long time to arrive - over 30 minutes. Which is technically fine if they were busy - but they really weren't that busy at the time. Steak, bacon and Swiss - steak was soooo dry - bottom of the sandwich was so greasy - my hand was basically drenched - fries were crisp but had no flavor , not even a hint of salt. Also had a Gingerale, which tasted super watered down. - Will not re-visit on my next trip -
