Grouper bites
Janice S.

We recently moved to the area and have been wanting to hit this restaurant. We were really lucky to stop here on this beautiful day. We sat outside in the view was terrific. I can't say enough about our service. It was just phenomenal. We were seated right away and it was pointed out to us that there were happy hour drinks, which we were thrilled about. We picked up the grouper bites, a grouper Reuben, a Caesar salad with fried oysters and could not have been happier with our food. Everything was fresh delicious, and made perfectly. This will now become one of our destinations because there's so many great places to eat in the area. So glad we finally stopped in. Thank you to the jellyfish for a phenomenal experience

What's not to love!? Let's start by saying this restaurant is located in the cutest seafoam green plaza. It looked magical at night with the lights and water fountains. Jellyfish is upstairs and there is an elevator available for those who can't manage the stairs. They have a LOT of space both inside and out. The decor is fantastic - the cutest jellyfish accents and a wonderful fish tank in the middle of the dining area. The menu has something for EVERYONE. I had a very hard time deciding but after much discussion, we opted to go with their sushi and we couldn't have been happier. The sushi was so fresh and some of the best I've had. We had three rolls; ichiban, spicy tuna, and surf and turf. We also tried the seared ahi tuna and it was so good. I also had a masago nigiri and it made me so happy. The service was FANTASTIC. Our server was so friendly and made our evening even more special. And to add to the wonderful visit, this restaurant gives military 25% off on Thursdays. What a treat!! This was our first dinner of the new year so we are off to an amazing start to 2026!!

Snapper Atchafalaya

The Jellyfish is top-notch dining! The food is very delicious. Highly recommend the Caribbean Mahi, Filet, and Snapper Atchafalaya. Superb!

Loved this place so much! The service was great and the food was amazing. We sat outside on the balcony which was lovely.

Stopped in with our friends who are visiting from Saint Augustine. This review covers two visits during that period. The service comma has always was spot on, and our drinks were delicious! Our dishes were fresh and superb! During one visit; however, the char grilled oysters were overcooked. On subsequent visits, they were perfect as always! We will miss the spot as we are leaving the area for the season.

We always have a great meal here. Y wife loves the salmon and I enjoy any of the catch of the day. This time was the mahi. We also had the fried green tomatoes which are just the right crispiness. The food comes out in a timely manner and we never run low on our drinks. We enjoy sitting on the balcony and being able to see the water albeit across the street, the view is still good. I am looking forward to trying other offerings.

Overall 3.5 Stars Ambiance - 3.5 Stars. Located in the strip mall building across from the beach and condos, the restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the strip mall and has indoor and outdoor seating. When you enter the restaurant, the bar with about 20 chairs and several high top chairs are available, however there is an adjoining room where normal table top and chairs are available for couples to large groups. The outdoor seating are high top style, so if you have little ones, I recommend indoor seating. There is an aquarium with No and friends to keep the kids entertained and they provide crayons and coloring too. It is a popular restaurant so be ready to wait. Servers and other staff members: 4 Stars. Our server was friendly, professional, and easy going. The kids loved her and with our large group very accommodating with some orders. The helpers made sure we our drinks were filled and they were efficient with bringing our dishes to us. Food: 3.5 Stars We had a variety of different dishes, ranges from kids meal to more substantial dishes. If your kids enjoyed creamy cheeses noodles (Alfredo sauce) I would highly recommend this dish. All 4 kids ate it up! Also, they had chicken tenders and fries too. Main dishes 2 - 4 Stars Appetizer: 2.75 Stars Chargrilled Oysters (half dozen). The oysters were charred with a lot butter on it but it lacked some garlic and the oysters were little. They must have gone on a diet cuz, they were "skinny in the meat". BOURBON SALMON: 3.75 Stars seared fresh Atlantic Salmon w/ bourbon glaze, over wilted spinach & mashed potatoes. The salmon was slightly overcooked but the flavor of the seasoning was good. The mashed potatoes were whipped a little bit too much. It was the based for the salmon and spinach. The bourbon glazed was dark and not overly sweet. CARIBBEAN MAHI 2 Stars - freshly grilled mahi topped w/ pineapple salsa & lemon-garlic sauce w/ cilantro- lime rice & mixed veggies. The fish was ok. The pineapple salsa was lacking in flavor and the seasoning was an afterthought. Lowest Star rating in the review. Poke Bowl: 4 Stars Tuna & Escolar in Poke Sauce, Sushi Rice, Avocado, Seaweed Salad, Krab Salad, & Tamago. Presentation was beautiful. Each item was plated separately within the bowl. So if you prefer not to mix the ingredients the. This is perfect for you. However, it should be mixed so flavor is melded together. Only thing missing is the eel sauce. Also, i prefer straight tuna instead of tuna and escolar. The Esolar has a slightly different texture and firmness. It is deep sea fish with a oily buttery flesh which isn't flakey. Perdido Sushi: 4 stars Tempura Fried Shrimp, Cucumber & Cream Cheese, topped w/ Seared Tuna, Spicy Mayo Sauce & Eel Sauce. Dish was large enough for one person or to share with another person.

Fantastic Experience--Even for a Non-Sushi Eater! We heard about The Jellyfish Bar & Grill from friends and decided to check it out while we were in town. I'll admit I was hesitant at first because I'm not a sushi eater, but this place was well worth the visit! We had been on the boat all day and showed up absolutely starving. Our waitress was awesome--super friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. We were so hungry I forgot to take photos before we started eating, but trust me--the portions were larger than what you'll see here! We started with two appetizers: Yellowfin Tuna Dip--The flavor was a little more mellow than I expected, but it was still very tasty and came with fresh pita chips. Fried Grouper Bites--These were absolutely perfect! Crispy, not greasy, and served hot. One of the best grouper appetizers I've had. For the main course: I had the Grilled Grouper Tacos--packed with flavor and grilled just right. My husband had the Shrimp Tacos--he raved about how fresh and delicious they were. Both taco dishes came with their unique house-made slaw--a crisp and colorful mix of shredded cabbage, red onions, and bell peppers that added the perfect crunch and brightness to every bite. It really set the tacos apart from your typical seafood spot. Our friends ordered sushi and could not stop talking about how amazing it was. Another friend tried a shrimp appetizer and said the sauce was incredible. For the kids, they offer the typical picky-eater menu, but our little one went with the Grilled Chicken Tenders. She liked them but admitted she would have preferred the fried version (totally her call!). We sat between a beautiful fish tank and the sushi bar, which gave the whole place such a cool, laid-back vibe. It made the experience feel special and relaxing. Pro Tip: Arrive early! This is clearly a popular spot, and once you visit, you'll understand why. Whether you're into sushi or not, The Jellyfish Bar & Grill is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

My wife and I are on our annual beach vacation in the Orange Beach area, staying at the Phoenix IX…read more(which is an excellent condo by the way), and we decided to have a late lunch at the Salty Pearl. We had already asked the local front desk person at the condo for dining recommendations, and she immediately recommended the Salty Pearl. She said "it's not a fancy place, but the food is great ", which was fine by us. We arrived at the Salty Pearl around 1 pm after the lunch rush. There were quite a few people there, but we were seated immediately. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose the outdoor area. The restaurant has a beach shack vibe, as can be seen from the pictures, and is nicely decorated in a traditional beach type look. The indoor area has seating at the bar and also some tables. The outdoor area has two sections: one with tables and one with picnic tables. We first sat at one of the picnic tables but moved to the other section when some biting flies attacked our legs. The flies didn't come into the other section for some reason thankfully. Our server was friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs perfectly. The menu has typical seafood options that you can order fried, blackened or grilled. There is also the raw oyster bar, which has fresh Gulf oysters. I ordered a half dozen oysters for an appetizer, and they were some of the best Gulf oysters I've ever had. They were smaller and had a good briny flavor. We also ordered their Boom Boom Shrimp as an appetizer too. The shrimp were seasoned well with a mildly spicy sauce and cooked perfectly. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Fresh Catch Tacos, which was either grouper or red snapper. She chose the grouper blackened, which she found delicious, and her meal had two tacos with well prepared fries. I ordered the Fried Shrimp and Oyster Platter, which comes with their fries and hushpuppies. Everything on my plate was perfectly prepared and delicious. If we have time while we're down here, we'll definitely be back! Highly recommended!

The Sun Has Set on the Sunset Grille. Absolute Trash. Turn Back Now!…read more As a local who lives just down the road, I selfishly NEED Sunset Grille to be good. It's convenient, it's waterfront, and the sunsets are gorgeous. Unfortunately, I'd rather drive to Montana for McDonald's than spend another dime here. After tonight, I think McDonald's deserves a Michelin star. And if you're a tourist considering dinner here, allow me to save you some money and gastrointestinal disappointment. There are plenty of ways to waste $100 in Perdido Key. Most of them are more enjoyable. First, credit where it's due: the view is spectacular. One of the prettiest spots around to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, Mother Nature is carrying this entire business on her back, and judging by the restaurant's condition, she's the only one showing up for work. It's open-air dining, which sounds charming until it's 95 degrees, you're sweating through dinner, and the flies are treating your table like an all-inclusive resort. And the cleanliness? Good Lord. The tables are worn out, the menus look like they've survived several hurricanes without evacuating, and everything has that charming "we gave up years ago" appearance. Photos included, because some things need to be seen to be believed. My favorite was the napkin dispenser proudly announcing, "Help promote hygiene." The irony was magnificent. It's like hanging a fire safety poster in a burning building. Then there was the hot sauce bottle, caked with enough old residue to qualify as an archaeological excavation. Somebody should introduce it to one of those hygienic napkins. But the real highlight came when a waitress started dumping food debris into a trash container RIGHT BESIDE OUR TABLE while we were eating. Nothing complements waterfront dining like watching somebody dispose of half-eaten food three feet from your dinner. I suppose that's their version of an open kitchen concept. Now, the food. Because apparently we hadn't suffered enough. I ordered a Wagyu burger, which is an ambitious name for meat with the moisture content of drywall. The bun was dense and hard to swallow. I don't know what happened to that poor cow, but I suspect its final moments were more pleasant than mine eating it. The burger was $16.63, and I added bacon, jalapeños, and queso. What I didn't realize was that the tiny Styrofoam cup of cheesy disappointment cost another $6.23 PLUS TAX. Nearly seven dollars for something resembling a school cafeteria macaroni-and-cheese experiment. For that price, I expected somebody to bring the cow back to life and milk it tableside. We also ordered the popcorn shrimp po' boy. Equally unimpressive. They claim to use Gambino's bread, but as someone who's eaten plenty of it, I'm going to need to see an invoice. Whatever showed up at our table wasn't ringing any bells. The shrimp was forgettable too, which is impressive considering how much time I'm now spending complaining about it. The Coors Lights were about $5 each and arrived cool-ish. In the Florida heat, you've got four minutes before you're drinking something with the temperature and appeal of bathwater. To be fair, our server was friendly and pleasant, even if service was slow. No complaints about her attitude. Unfortunately, friendliness can't rehydrate a hamburger or refrigerate a beer. By the end of this culinary hostage situation, our bill was $71.36 BEFORE TIP. Two lousy meals, four beers, hushpuppies, and a tiny cup of liquid gold masquerading as queso. Seventy-one dollars to sweat, fight flies, eat terrible food, and watch somebody empty garbage beside our table. I've had better dining experiences at Philadelphia Airport. And that place has spent six consecutive years at the bottom of customer satisfaction rankings. Apparently, Sunset Grille looked at that record and said, "Hold my warm beer." What's maddening is that this place COULD be fantastic. The location is incredible. Locals would absolutely support a good restaurant here. But it feels like somebody figured out tourists will keep showing up for the sunset regardless of what comes out of the kitchen. And apparently, they're right. My recommendation? Use the parking lot to access the docks, enjoy the sunset, take some pictures, and burn rubber before somebody hands you a menu. The only thing worth watching at Sunset Grille is the sun going down. And after eating here, I completely understand why it's leaving.
