Outstanding food and service. Soft shell crab was great, fried shrimp was excellent, service too.
The Point is ON POINT. We elected to eat our last meal of 2025 here and we' were oh so very happy with our choice. The Point is a laid back, casual joint with seating for groups of any size. There's plenty of parking out front, out back, and across the street. The space is charming and homey. We were seated right away and told about the many specials being offered. Since it was a Wednesday, we were given a generous military discount of 50% off appetizers so we couldn't pass on the potato skins. They were delicious. We also received 10% off our entrees. It was so nice to be recognized for our service. For my entree, I tried the blackened triple tail and it was fantastic! For my sides I had a baked potato and coleslaw. My better half had the country fried steak and he was so very pleased. He also tried the onion rings and enjoyed them greatly. The service put this experience over the top. All of the staff are friendly and efficient and made us feel so welcome and at home. We have been recommending The Point to everyone else we have met in town. This was the best way to end out 2025 and I hope 2026 brings us back here!
I hate to leave bad reviews. Especially here because I love this place. I am local and have eaten here many times. I ordered a soft shell crab on Gambinos bread. I got a postage stamp sized, little baby crab on texas toast. With iced tea the bill was $23.96. I told Sharon that I would be embarrassed to serve my customers such a sad looking plate. She deducted $4.00. See attached.
We discovered an incredible restaurant in Perdido Key that was perfect for a Sunday dinner with family, offering exceptional service, delicious food, and lovely music that made our evening truly special.
great lunch today with the fresh catch of triple tail for the win! my downside was my order of salad. the greens were wilted and just not appetizing but the fish served a top was great. he also ordered the triple tail and said it was so fresh and tasty. danielle was our server and was so attentive. the interior isn't much to look at, just an old outdated building . the food and service is the draw for return customers!
Happy to point out that The Point is still 100% on point after all these years of Point dining (some 35 or so years for us now). Same familiar and comfortable ambiance; same friendly service (the lovely and personable Taylor today); and the same great fried mullet as always (which is what we drive from Pensacola for). We enjoyed a dozen of the LA oysters which today boasted a perfect brine followed by a cup of the hearty gumbo. And then... the piéce de résistance, fried mullet. We order a whole mullet each a la carte with no sides. $8 per mullet. We can make all the sides we love at home. When we're here in PNS/Perdido Key we want mullet , just mullet, without any side distractions, LOL. As I mentioned we did try the gumbo today as I'm on a gumbo reconnoiter, research and recipe mission this year. It's pretty darn good here. I would love to see an even darker roux, but it's plenty flavorful here. Our mullet, though not large, were perfectly breaded, seasoned, and fried. So enjoyable. Mullet nirvana. One of life's great pleasures here on God's great earth is restaurants like The Point which stand the test of time because of their commitment to the culinary craft, providing not only the pleasure of great food but as well of dining experiences that span and connect successive generations of family and friends. My wife and I arrive for an early dinner. There were only a couple of tables seated. We were ushered to a Table in the corner that was dark and cold. We did not want to sit there so we got up and moved to the bar. Our waitress who seated us took care of us at the bar. We opened with adult beverages and ordered our meals. My wife, a hamburger with blue cheese and I there small platter with the fresh catch of the day Blackened, cheesy grits, and fresh peas. Our food came out relatively quickly and we started our meal. It was at that point that we saw a couple of things that soured our appetite a bit. On our way out, I shared a couple of pictures to the man who appeared to be the manager that we observed from our vantage point at the bar. We hope they take care of them. We can't give anything higher than a three due to that. Hopefully, if we visit again, we'll see those issues taken care of.
Shae served us and WOW! Service was AMAZING... and the FOOD Seriously, some of the best we have had on our southern tour this winter! Such a gem... a hidden treasure! GREAT REAL food and drinks... amazing service! I ate way too much... but it was too good not to

First of all, nicest people I've ever met. I told them I was there for my birthday and they had the band play happy birthday! It was just so sweet! I sat down and the band was playing really good songs and at at a nice level. Tammy was my server she she was sooooo nice. I ordered an IPA (that turned into 3), a dozen oysters on the half shell, a salad, ribeye with a side of cheese grits (holy cow) and the fried cheesecake in a praline sauce. First, if you're in Florida, EAT THE OYSTERS (especially here). They were so good I almost fainted. The ribeye literally melted in my mouth, the grits were perfection. The salad was so fresh. I couldn't complain about one thing. What the heck? I was fine until I got talked into the fried cheesecake. That was mean. They reel you in until the cheesecake because that's the hook, that's how they get you addicted! And I am ha ha. But truly, that an amazing place! It's a 15 minute walk from my house, if you're looking for me that's where I'll be! read more

Excellent service, great cocktails, great appetizers and great "Fresh Catch" items. The hush puppies were damn good! The reason for the mid review is because the chargilled orders all came back with way too much grill residue in the char, so the burger tasted like all the fish that was being chargrilled. The fish that was chargilled came back with hard, inedible pieces. Our youngest said they should clean their grates on the grill. Probably not a bad idea. read more

Delicious food with menu staples plus daily specials. Kids meals for $10 with good portions. We were a very large party but were seated fairly quickly. Mullet is their "thing" but I went for the grouper. Service was wonderful-they were patient and kind to a large party with multiple kiddos. Live music added to the atmosphere but was a bit loud for conversation. We make it a point to visit The Point when visiting Perdido Key. read more

Coming from out of town and looking to have a local feel atmosphere, this place did not disappoint!!! I cannot say enough great things, the service was excellent and our server was efficient and friendly even though her tables were packed. The food was great, I had the sampler as my meal with alligator, calamari, and fried pickles and my friend has the blackened shrimp po boy, both of which were delicious, finished with key lime pie and fried cheesecake everything was so amazing including the woman singing and the gentleman playing alongside her. read more

I had reviewed the Original Point most recently right at the beginning of the pandemic, and while I love their food was upset at their handling of masks, sanitation and service - but since I recently returned and have always loved the food and atmosphere, figured it was time to update to the rating it deserves usually. First and perhaps most importantly this isn't a fancy place, nor does it pretend to be. It's big, a bit out of the way, has both indoor dining and a backyard atmosphere complete with live music. I love sitting out back, but the weather wasn't our friend this time. We sat in the main dining room which was pretty crowded at 8PM but we didn't have to wait for a table. Our sever was great, and the food as well. Son had chicken fingers (you see a lot of that in these reviews I write don't you?) and he enjoyed them, complete with seafood gumbo and new potatoes. Wife had the crab cakes which she gets every time she eats here, and always raves about them along with grilled shrimp. They also shared a friend green tomatoes (for the life of me I just don't understand that) as well. I had the seafood combo choosing to upgrade to mahi-mahi as a fresh catch, along with sea scallops. Both blackened and it was definitely spicy. Grits and Baked potato were my sides and the gumbo as an add on since I hate the fried green tomatoes. Another great trip and we will definitely return next time we're in the area!! read more

This is a local restaurant about a mile from the main beach road. The waitress was very friendly and there were several good daily specials to choose from. The seafood was fresh and served hot. I wish the sauce was a bit more tangy but the waitress just brought me more lemons. Their tartar sauce was homemade and really good, not your average mayo and relish mixed together. The veggies were fresh and well prepared. We were full but were intrigued by deep fried cheesecake. When the waitress was halfway through describing it, we told her to stop because we had to have a piece. It was over the top delicious and not something light for sure, but if you're on vacation, this is the sort of dessert you should get. If you live here, I feel sorry for you because you know how good it is and how close you are from just dropping by to see if they have any left. It looked like a nice open area out back, but we just ate inside so I can't really comment on that. This is not a fancy restaurant, but it is a good place to eat with great food. read more
I really liked this place. There was a bit of a wait, but that's expected. They have live music. Bushwacker was really good! We got a small order of sautéed crab claws. Market price was around $21. It was a lot of crab claws. I'm curious how big the large is and how much it costs. They were really good. I could have drank the buttery sauce. I ordered the shrimp and crab bisque. It was strange. It had almost a yeasty flavor to it. It had whole shrimp in it and they were super over cooked. It was very thick. I was not a fan. Their crab cakes are good. I really liked the grilled mullet. Tilapia and green beans were both great too. read more

We stopped in here for late lunch after a day at the beach and it did not disappoint. The service was some of the best so far. We have experienced very hospitable service all around in Pensacola. Such a friendly community! We started with some appetizers. We had the Mullet backbones very tasty and the experience was great. We had their house made marinated smoked Tuna steak dip delicious. I had the gumbo and shrimp salad with home made thousand island which was reminiscent of a shrimp Louie. Loved it all. DIL had the special grilled flounder new potatoes with side salad, we had the coconut shrimp and husband got the blackened Grouper with cole slaw. Everything was fresh it was all delicious. The hush puppies were good this place is worth eating. They know how to prepare fish blackened fried grilled. Yummy yum yum!!! read more

Talk about a great choice. The service was great, the food was great. Portions were also excellent. You can tell the fish is fresh and offerings differ from day to day. The only reason I didn't give this 5 starts is because of the fish being overcooked. We went here twice and everybody's fish was overcooked badly each time. Still great tasting and didn't ruin the meal or experience. Please tell the cooks to stop overcooking the fish! Get the new potatoes and cheese grits. Fantastic! read more
We went on Friday night about 6:30. No wait to get a table inside or out. If the weather is permitting, sit outside! The music by this band was great, even if you aren't a bluegrass fan (of which I am not). They all were so talented at their craft. Beyond that, it was overall great. Logan, our server, was very attentive and on top of everything. The food was really good. I had the Royal Red Shrimp, which I would highly advise to get. They were large, and really tender. It comes with two sides. I also got a cup of gumbo to start. It was really good and chock full of good things. When we come back to this area, this will definitely be a repeat! read more

Used to come here MANY years ago with my children. Sat at outside bar and all I heard people order was crab cakes so did a platter with fried shrimp. New potatoes and slaw. Hush puppies are still so good. BUT crab cakes. Did NOT taste or look anything like lump crab as noted on menu. Think it was blue crab. Bc lump crab is $40/lb. Oh well. Always get the lemon grilled fish. Next time will order that ! read more
