Check-in was easy and our front door overlooked the pool. I don't think the pool was open when we were there because it was still chilly outside. It was a great experience, but frankly it was just a bummer that it felt like the entire space was geared towards gay men rather than queer PEOPLE as a whole. As a queer woman, I just wish it had felt like I was represented too, but it's okay cause not every space is for me! I also don't know if it's the norm, but the bar was pretty empty for a Saturday night which just didn't give the vibe for dancing I was hoping for. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Would totally stay here again if needed/staying in the area and would recommend to someone who is curious! I don't think I'd seek it out independently just because I live in Grand Rapids and it's only about 45 minutes away and again, feels like the vibe is more focused on men.

Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy. As the info says, the Inn is a short drive away from downtown Saugatuck, which has a real plus for us. We wanted access to town, but didn't want to be in the hustle full time. It is great to wake up, and wind down, someplace peaceful. Plus, the breakfasts are so plentiful, I hardly needed lunch (but ate lunch anyhow! Vacation!) During the warm weather, the Inn has a cute outdoor pool and gardens. We went back recently (I told you we enjoyed it) and they had the fireplaces going inside and it was like a picture book. What caused me to write the review was our experience upon going back. Wow! They have been busy. In just a few short months, they have already refreshed major parts of the Inn (it was a little dated), with apparently more "refreshes" to come. They have taken what was already a homerun of a property and really made it into something special. So many cute places to enjoy a bottle of wine, read a good book, or just watch the fire and talk (god forbid any of us do that anymore...) Not recommended, based on our stay at The Rosemont Inn in Saugatuck. I went in hoping for a…read morerelaxing visit, but honestly, it turned out to be a difficult one from start to finish. The service was disappointing throughout, and rather than feeling welcomed, we felt like an inconvenience. The host came across as rude more than once, which is hard to shake when you are a guest in someone's home, and it set an uncomfortable tone for the rest of the visit. The food was another letdown. It was not just bland or forgettable, it was genuinely terrible, and I ended up feeling sick after eating it, which ruined a good part of the stay. That was especially tough because I have allergies, and having a cat running around everywhere made it hard to relax or feel comfortable in the space. For anyone with allergies, that alone is worth knowing before booking. The room did not help matters either. It felt very shabby and worn, like it had not been updated in many years, and the bathroom was in the same tired shape. The bed was very old and uncomfortable, and the pillows were so stiff that sleeping was out of the question as they were. I ended up going out to buy a new pillow just so I could get through the night, which is not something you expect to have to do at a bed and breakfast. I say all of this with regret, because Saugatuck itself is wonderful. I just cannot recommend this inn based on our experience, and I hope the owners take this kind of feedback to heart, because with some care and updating, it could be so much better.
