For sides we had corn on the cob, mac n' cheese, cheese potatoes (with bacon, amazing!) and homemade corn bread with honey butter. I thought I was going to bust out of my dress, I ate so much food. Everyone I talked to was raving about the food and going on and on about how it was the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding. Bill had his smoker on site so that the food came out fresh and he had amazing staff who kept the pans filled and the food hot. One thing I loved about Bill's set up was that he used a lot of marble and pedestals to create a beautiful buffet. This avoided the plane-Jane hotel pan look that you get with some other catered buffets. As far as price goes, Bill's pricing is very competitive compared to some other caterers in Grand Rapids. I filled out the form on their website and they contacted me quickly. I was able to pick up my catering order at their facility on Michigan Street. Everything was packaged carefully and securely, which I really appreciated. They can provide sternos and pans if you need them, as well as napkins, cutlery, etc. The food was pretty good and people seemed to like it! I will definitely keep Martha's in mind for future catering needs.

They also packaged the bags so full that the bags busted open and the food was unusable. But they won't take responsibility for that either--as they "aren't responsible for food after they leave." I prefer a "hard smoke" where the skin has a nice bark like consistency and the pulled pork was almost soupy - I hate to compare but my go to will still be Two Scotts. If you like a more basic bbq this may be your place. The potato salad was good, unique sauce and something different than your usual mustard and egg potato salad. The cornbread was good too - just wish it was a little bigger. Will I be back? Not sure. I've had their food truck and I think when you're at an outside event it can curb your hunger but for an in person experience, I think my bar may have been set too high. Everyone loved the food and unique presentations. The staff were incredibly friendly and flexible and a joy to work with. They made me feel so important, like this was the biggest day of the year for them and I know they are very busy. I can't say enough positive about them but by far the most helpful thing was something rather unexpected. About 2 months before the wedding, I met with them over the phone and in person to go over their pre-wedding questionnaires. Not only did this form help make sure we were on the same page with absolutely every detail, the process helped me realize some areas where I had been a little delinquent in my planning.
