Catered Creations was amazing at our wedding this weekend. Not just the food, but the people. Great to work with. We had an outdoor wedding and weather was threatening to be an issue. We really wanted to do family style service, but talking the day before we were in a situation that it made sense to go buffet style just in case. Patti could tell I wasn't happy making that decision. She told me to give her a few and called me back. She pushed me back to doing family style with a buffet back up, and it turned out perfect. The weather was great, and had she not decided to go the extra mile to make family style happen, it wouldn't have. Also, the food! Pot roast was amazing and people couldn't stop talking about the pumpkin tortellini. And as another reviewer said....THE CORNBREAD! A pleasure to work with. Highly recommended. read more

Disappointed to say the least. Forced to use their services for our father's funeral luncheon. The package listed pulled pork and pulled chicken with rolls. What was delivered did not make any sense. BBQ pulled pork / very, very dry mexican spiced pulled chicken / rolls that were not appropriate - with no butter/ awful coleslaw / and chips and dip (which was the best thing on the table). Amazing! This incredible team catered our wedding in the woods with a delicious cookout. They were so kind, and worked so incredibly hard. Thanks to them, dinner was easier than I could have ever imagined, and everyone was RAVING about the hot dogs! I work at Rosebud, a popular wedding venue here in Grand Rapids. It is ALWAYS a pleasure when we get to work with Catered Creations. Not only is their food is excellent, but their staff and service are outstanding! They are always positive and professional despite working with a very small catering space, and I find that they are always willing to lend a hand when a problem arises that isn't necessarily in their job description. I have used Catered Creations several time for events I have had for my business and catered large family dinners. Every time I have used them they have been wonderful to work with and the food, always a hit. When they bring the food, they set it up and bring decorations to make the presentation gorgeous. The food is fantastic! The Brussels sprouts and strawberry spinach salad were a hit. I wasn't impressed with the service. I thought Patti was intimidating and didn't properly inform me in writing of what I was receiving. She never told me they wouldn't provide water if we didn't use their wait staff, so we had to come up with a solution the day before the wedding. They showed up on time and the set up went smoothly the day of the wedding. I didnt like the 20% service charge. I would rather just have the cost within the per plate charge because it felt like a huge hidden fee. Overall I wouldn't suggest them to another person that was trying to have a wedding on a budget. If you don't care about cost of the catering at your wedding then the they could be for you because the food was really good. read more

We have always had excellent service, yummy food, personable deliveries, prompt delivery, good portions and nice variety to choose from. We have used for small meetings, large meetings, picnics and events. I have never had to worry if they wouldn't be there on time and with appropriate portions of food. I can't say enough about Patti, Chris and their staff. They catered my daughter's wedding on July 25th and they provided delicious comfort food. From the Mac & Cheese balls and mashed potato ball appetizers, to the bbq slider station and other amazing food, our guests were well-fed so they could enjoy an evening of dancing! Patti was so responsive to my many questions and changes through the process of deciding on a menu. Her daughter, Samantha, also was wonderful. She delivered to our hotel our rental linen so that we could have it early for decorating our venue. (And also gave us great tips for our guests on places to eat while we were there for the weekend!). Patti and her staff always had the food stocked and empty dishes cleared promptly. We honestly cannot praise Catered Creations, Sales Director, Patti Zylstra, and chef, Janell Mitchell enough. We have high expectations and everyone involved in the planning, preparation, execution, and serving of our wedding absolutely exceeded our expectations on every level. Our goal was to plan a sophisticated picnic at our home combining our Polish and Appalachian heritage - with locally sourced ingredients. Patti and Chef Janell listened to us, presented excellent choices, gladly took our suggestions, and presented a menu that appealed to everyone. Guests were visibly and audibly thrilled with every aspect of the presentation, food, service, and Patti's presence and management of the evening. Patti was so accommodating and organized - she even contacted our florist to make sure everything was coordinated. From the passed hors d-oeuvres and charcuterie boards to the creative and delicious main courses (the brisket and porchetta were over the top,) to the local fruit pies for dessert (in lieu of a wedding cake,) everything was perfect. I know, nothing is perfect, but our experience with Catered Creations was, well as close as we've ever come with any service provider. Catered Creations, Inc. catered my wedding on December 29, 2017. My husband and I are so happy that they did! The food was amazing and presented beautifully. The staff was very attentive & friendly throughout the evening. Catered Creations worked with us to serve appetizers before the ceremony and an amazing dinner at the reception. These were at two different locations and they executed it very well. At the reception we had many different appetizers served butler style, 3 dinner stations, an after dinner "grazing" station, and a dessert station. Our guests have not stopped reaching out to us and telling us how great the food was and how much they enjoyed the evening. (The cornbread was amazing!) One of the stations was a taco station that had smoked tri-tip steak as an option. It was AMAZING! We really wanted our wedding to have a different feel then a typical wedding reception. We wanted our guests to feel comfortable mingling with each other while eating delicious food together. The food we served was highly important to us. Catered Creations recognized that and delivered an amazing meal. We worked with the head chef, Janell, to create a menu that included a number of dietary concerns. My husband is lactose intolerant. We also had quite a few vegans attend, as well as gluten free guests. All of our vegan guests came up to us throughout the night and thanked us for thinking of them as we planned our menu. We had 3 or 4 appetizers for them and at least one delicious option at each station for them. Along with the reception they also catered our rehearsal dinner and lunch for the bridal party the day of the wedding. The pot roast at the rehearsal dinner was fabulous and had my husband back up to the buffet twice. We are so happy that we went with one vendor to handle all of the food for the weekend. The planning process was well organized and made it so much easier. We could not have been happier. We cannot say thank you enough to their staff that worked so hard! read more

Catered Creations was hands down the best vendor we worked with at our wedding. Patti was so accommodating and the food was freaking amazing. We got married at a summer camp north of Kalamazoo, and Patti went out of the way to do a site visit the week before to scout the kitchen. The wedding day ended up being really hot, and the old camp building didn't have a/c, but Patti and her crew cooked up a storm and served away with smiles on their faces, despite the hot hot kitchen. And did I mention the food was amazing? Because it was awesome. I literally had one of my guests RUN (I do not exaggerate) away from me mid-conversation to chase down the passing platter of fried macaroni and cheese balls. All of the appetizers were great, and the dinner was awesome. I ate such a huge plate of food I had a hard time dancing at my own reception. But I couldn't help myself, everything was so good: pulled pork, black bean veggie burgers, cheesy green chile grits, THE CORNBREAD, root veggie salad, mashed potatoes, oh my. We had a lot of vegetarians at our wedding and Catered Creations first stood out to us because they had so many great veggie options. Unlike most caterers that seemed to only offer a bland pasta dish as an alternative to meat, CC had choices that actually sounded good. We opted to do black bean veggie burgers with fresh avocado and coleslaw on pretzel buns. They were amazing. Literally all of our guests came up to tell us how good the food was, especially the grits and the cornbread. And of course the strawberry rhubarb crisp (with vanilla ice cream) that they served for dessert. It was all great. They also made a bunch of pre-baked quiches and crisps for us to heat up the next morning to serve to our guests. It was just all around a great experience. Patti was super nice and professional, the food was delicious, and they have so much more to offer than your typical midwest caterer. So yes, book them! read more
