We hired CK to cater our reception at the Box Factory for the Arts in January. I can't thank CK Catering enough for making this important day headache-free and so memorable. Everyone loved the food and unique presentations. The staff were incredibly friendly and flexible and a joy to work with. They made me feel so important, like this was the biggest day of the year for them and I know they are very busy. I can't say enough positive about them but by far the most helpful thing was something rather unexpected. About 2 months before the wedding, I met with them over the phone and in person to go over their pre-wedding questionnaires. Not only did this form help make sure we were on the same page with absolutely every detail, the process helped me realize some areas where I had been a little delinquent in my planning. I would recommend CK catering to anyone and everyone whether it be for a small or big event. Unfortunately we had to cancel our wedding a month before due to contracting Covid and other reasons ( we're so incredibly sorry for canceling last minute). There's no doubt in my mind CK would've exceeded expectations. Not only are they very responsive to emails and calls, they remained helpful with any questions we had. Our families had done a taste testing with them, and everyone had loved everything CK presented. From the main courses, to the sides, and even the toppings. Everything was phenomenal. They even had a display and options on how you want your table set, from different glassware, plates, etc etc. I don't remember what kind of juice they were presenting that I went back for too many times, even that was delicious haha. Saving the best for last. The main thing that drew me to CK was they offered a day of wedding coordinator. We were so fortunate to work with Melissa. She is responsive, clearly knows what she's doing, and is more helpful than we could've asked for. She listens, she plans, and she is so dang sweet. I could've talked to her for hours, she makes you feel comfortable. I trusted her with my wedding, and I would've continued to do so through and through. And highly, highly recommend her. I was very impressed with CK Catering. We knew from the tasting event the food was good, but so many of our guests mentioned it. The flank steak with chimichurri was especially a hit, as were the garlic smashed potatoes. Bacon-wrapped dates and stuffed mushroom caps were great appetizers. It put everyone in a good mood to have a great meal! One of our biggest worries about the wedding was that the food would be late - we've been hungry, irritable guests at other weddings and cared a lot about keeping guests fed. CK kept everything right on schedule! I also want to give a shout out to Melissa for accommodating a couple of late-notice changes in our seating plan with grace. This is indeed as good as it gets!!! Wonderful Chef, and waitstaff! Food was excellent for my daughters wedding 5/2013. Nothing but compliments about the food served. The garlic mashed potatoes = the best you can have! Seriously wonderful food. The very large salad bowl with a perfect mix dished in every bowl. I tipped both the Chef and the two waitstaff ladies. The ladies were efficient, friendly and tireless in every aspect they were in charge of. They cut the cake and were perfect. If you are planning a catered party, do yourself a favor and use CK Catering. Your wedding, event, or party is always judged by the food. These folks knocked it out of the park. We used CK for our wedding and the food was amazing!! All night everyone told us how good everything was. They worked with me on my moms food sensitivities too and sure she had a great meal too. Both of us don't like cake so we did their dessert in a mason jar and I was more than happy with that choice every single one was delicious!! We were extremely impressed with the food quality and service from CK catering. We had a luau themed party for 50 people at my home. The recommended menu was perfect. They arrived at my house right on time and were thoroughly organized and prepared. I received many many compliments from guests on the food! The event staff were extremely helpful, professional and so kind and welcoming to guests....they felt like family by the end of the party. I found their prices to be very reasonable and competitive. When looking back on the planning of our wedding CK Catering was the worst part. They were just extremely unprofessional and they were a nightmare to work with. Everything up to the day of our wedding was a struggle with them. They tried to charge us more than the price they originaly quoted, then they actually overcharged us (double check your bill), extremely unfelixable, their front office staff was rude and difficult to work with. We had a COVID wedding and all of our other venders were willing to work with us CK Catering up-charged us for things that needed to be adjusted pre COVID guidelines. I will say that on the day of our wedding the food was delicious. Thank goodness! If you want good food and a massive headache (due to their incompetence) go with CK Catering! read more

CK Catering was everything I could ever want in a wedding caterer and more! Bob and his team were amazing to work with throughout the entire process, and put me at ease while wedding planning. The entire team were very responsible to emails and phone calls, and were very detailed in making sure that everything went off without any hick ups. Bob and Mark did an incredible job putting together a good hearty BBQ for our group on our first night in Union Pier. The chef they sent was also top notch and easy to work with. Ryan and I were so pleased with our decision to go with CK Catering. They were professional and prompt in communication throughout the entire process. Food was a very important item for us, as everyone always remembers the food, and they definitely did not disappoint. I would highly recommend attending one of their group tastings, that really helped us narrow down our menu. The only reasons I gave them 4stars instead of 5 was due to the pace in which the food was brought out for our guests for dinner... it took a bit more time that I would've liked. CK catering did our wedding reception. Food was a major concern to me because I've been to a lot of weddings that had awful food, and I wanted to make sure my guests got to eat something good. CK surpassed our expectations! The beef that was served was extremely tender, the chicken was juicy, everything was delicious and amazing. Guests kept approaching us to tell us how amazing the food was and everyone really seemed to enjoy it. They also offer lots of fun options, like different late night snacks, and they even set up iced tea and lemonade outside for our ceremony. The linens and the place settings were well done. I chose the sit-down, family style service and it was perfect. Everyone was happy to be served while it wasn't totally formal. We used CK Catering for our wedding & could not be happier! To me, wedding food is usually so-so or, more often than not, just plain bad, so we were beyond impressed with the food from CK. It was seriously really good. Like really really good. (I want their recipe for their Cherry Balsamic chicken!) Everything was grilled on-site and served hot & tasted fresh and amazing! We used CK Catering for our wedding on June 2nd at Blue Dress Barn and can't say enough great things. about working with them! From the beginning, Bob was extremely responsive via email and we were able to schedule our first tasting pretty quickly, where the food was amazing! We then began to work with Melissa who was also extremely easy to work with and super nice and gave us her opinions / thoughts on anything we weren't sure about. They grilled on-site which is something you don't see very often but it was comforting knowing it was being cooked on-site and not earlier and sitting in a hot car etc. We received SO many compliments from our guests about how good our food was. If you are looking for a catering company, CK is it! This review is LONG overdue; however, we had CK cater our wedding last September. Not only was CK one of the best quotes that we received, people still rave about the food and Bob was beyond FANTASTIC to work with. He is down-to-earth, realistic, good at his job and over-accommodating. We had over 300 people, a plated dinner with options at a small lake/cottage destination outside of South Haven, MI and Bob was able to pull everything off perfectly. Believe me, this could not have been easy- his location is unique at best! My dad is a huge meat lover and requested a certain type of filet, which Bob was more than happy to deliver on. He even made him a sample of it at the large tasting event, which was so appreciated. Melissa is also phenomenal and will cover every base with you so that you feel very comfortable day-of. Since our wedding, we have used CK to also cater a pig roast at the same cottage and once again, perfection, easy to work with and a success! His staff is amazing, the business is family-run and they truly do a fantastic job. We have had 3 different couples that have gotten engaged since our wedding ask for his information and we still hear rave reviews on the food. We just used CK for our wedding, and it was fabulous!!! The food was AMAZING! The staff was super responsive and answered all of my questions promptly from day one. They were super easy to work with and had tons of options. The food at our tasting wasn't great, some of it was still cold, and it was realy hard to only chose three things to taste, but the customer service was excellent. We fell in love with the champagne chicken and the ribs. Due to our budget we chose to stick with one option and went with the champagne chicken. We do not regret that. We had the chicken, which was perfectly cooked and everyone LOVED, a macaroni and cheese bar, which was served in martini glasses with assorted toppings, a salad that we chose, rolls, and steamed veggies. Everything was perfect. The staff was outstanding, very sweet and kind, went over the top to make sure everything was perfect. We chose to have buffet style dining with the bamboo plates, it was perfect. They were very conscious of food allergies and we had a few vegans in the party. They made sure all of that was taken care of. I have a gluten allergy and they had my plate already ready for me when dinner started, and i appreciated that so much. All of our guests loved the food and loved the staff, we would use them again in a heartbeat. I loved the menu sign they made for us, and i think that my only complaint of the whole night was that they spelled the grooms name wrong on the sign. We didn't even notice until we saw pictures. Our guests are STILL talking about how good the food was and how much they loved the staff. Thank you so much CK for making our wedding so special!!!!!
