Sally and her team were recommended by a friend. They came out to check our chimney just for a check up. Punctual, professional, great communication and honest. Ended up not needing any work. They were in and out and left everything clean. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

We highly recommend using The Irish Sweep for all of your fireplace/chimney needs. Booking an appointment was straightforward, the two-person team showed up promptly, and they left us with a much cleaner and safer fireplace and chimney. They were also very conscientious about not letting any soot get onto anything else in the room. Fantastic service for a very reasonable price! read more

Highly recommend The Irish Sweep for your fireplace and chimney needs! We bought an older house and inspections revealed some age related issues inside the chimey. The first company to look at it said we'd need to tear the chimney down and rebuild in order to use the fireplaces, but The Irish Sweep were able to use a more modern technique to do the interior repair to the existing chimney, saving us many thousands! They were also able to facilitate some repairs to the bricks and provide a new chimney cap, as the old one was held down with a wire as a stop-gap solution. We now have a fully functioning and stable chimney to be enjoyed for years to come. Communication was easy and they showed up reliably and on time for the inspection and the job. Estimates were quick and accurate. Whatever service you are considering for your fireplace or chimney, look no further than The Irish Sweep! read more

My general contractor recommended Irish Sweep. I'm glad i called them. They were professional, prompt and efficient. They also did a camera inspection as an added service and found serious issues with my chimney. I received a quote for the repair work as well. A full service firm that I trust. Highly recommended. Sally brought her team to my house to clean my chimney. She is obviously a total pro, and her team clearly knows this. There is a good rapport among them. Good management means good service, in my experience. Sally was straightforward and clear about my next steps, options, and potential costs for installing a fireplace insert. She assessed my chimney and told me how to keep it well maintained. She also evaluated my dryer performance. I felt in excellent hands with her and her team. I love a woman-owned business that provides honest, great service. read more

After an obvious scam from a well known firm, I called The Irish Sweep and had several conversations with Sally who was very clear about the process and estimate. She explained that chimney cleaning services have a very high scam and poor service record, and I've talked to other friends who reported such things such as exorbitant charges and poor work. The service was professional and well done with a fair charge, including Sally coming along with the workers and following up to check with me. Aside from the work itself, it is so reassuring to have confidence not just with the quality of the service but to be trusting their integrity. read more

The Irish Sweep has done a great job of keeping my fireplace clean and in working order over the years. I recently had them come out as one side of my fireplace as slightly sunk. They inspected my fireplace and gave me some good options to resolve. I felt they listened to my concerns and gave me good solutions. I'll use them in the future to add a liner to my fireplace when I convert to gas logs. Thanks! read more

These folks are the best! Removed an old wood-burning stove for me with NO soot and the utmost efficiency. I shopped around too and finally circled back to them because their rates are more than fair. Highly recommended! read more

I have had The Irish Sweep clean the metal chimney on my wood burning stove for several years now. I wouldn't use anybody else! They are thorough, extremely professional, and make sure they keep the work space very clean--laying down cardboard, drop cloths, etc, before starting any work. They definitely earn my repeat business. read more

The service was on time and professional. Sally, the owner, was very willing to answer any and all of my questions. The workers were focused and careful and left my living room without a speck of dust, cleaning up thoroughly after their work. I contacted the Irish Sweep to have my chimney inspected and cleaned. Sally contacted me and I had an appointment within a week. I got a call that somebody had canceled, and was able to take a next day appointment! Showed up on time, respectful of my home, just generally nice people. I have a smaller fireplace, so they made quick work of it a great job with the cleaning. In the evening, I had an email with pictures of the interior and the top of the chimney. We recently bought a home in Oakland, and the inspection report indicated that there could be some issues with the chimney, etc. Our realtor recommended that we contact the Irish Sweep, and we are glad we did. They inspected, gave us a fair and detailed bid, and discouraged us from doing more work than was actually needed. The workers were very courteous and efficient, and we are quite pleased with the results. read more

Seconding what many people have already said: Sally and her crew are amazing! They are professional, communicative, and thorough. We wanted to take measures to make our home more earthquake safe because we just had a baby, so we hired The Irish Sweep to remove our chimney top and close up our firebox. We had heard that tall, brick chimneys often collapse during an earthquake, so after a bit of googling I came across The Irish Sweep, and I am so grateful they popped up in my search. Highly recommend! Great price, great work, and a pleasure to work with! read more

We were VERY happy with everything about The Irish Sweep! Very professional, responsible, and they did a great job! We will definitely use them again for our chimney. It is a rare privilege these days to have a company be so responsive and who actually communicate with you. What a welcomed relief!!! They made my day! read more

For nearly a year I tried to ignore the "Clean Vent" indicator light on our dryer that was flashing every time we ran the dryer. At some point it didn't seem wise to continue ignoring the warning, so we scheduled a dryer vent cleaning with The Irish Sweep (TIS). The 2-man crew was here earlier this week. They were professional and tidy, addressing both the dryer side of the vent as well as the exhaust vent on the exterior of the house in a little more than an hour. It was pretty painless and I'm grateful to have it addressed. Big thumbs up for TIS! read more

Great friendly service! They worked quickly and efficiently and now i can feel good about having a fire in my cleaned out fireplace.

Sally and her crew are top notch. Very detailed with prepping the indoor areas. Communication is great. Very experienced and informative. Sally and her team cleaned both of our fireplaces and we will use them again. read more

I highly recommend The Irish Sweep. Sally was responsive, professional, very friendly and they were on-time. They inspected my mother in laws fireplace (it's very old!) in Alameda and assessed whether it required any work prior to having a gas line installed. The service was efficient, the report thorough with pictures of the inside of the fireplace and measurements of the fireplace for gas insert or log set. And Sally shared her knowledge about fireplace options with my mother in law which helped her better understand the difference between the options she had. Overall, the experience was wonderful for my mother-in law and me. A+ service. read more

the two service guys installed the chimney cap & closed off all the cold air coming in in about 20 minutes. such great service.

Sally and her team at The Irish Sweep are amazing! I can't say enough good things about Sally's level of professionalism, depth of knowledge and kindness. We've called them for two separate jobs and will continue to do so for years to come. read more

We have used The Irish Sweep twice: once when we moved in (15 years ago) and again this week. We were very pleased with their professional and knowledgeable service both times. For both visits, our chimney was cleaned (and, 15 years ago, it was inspected per an inspection report during the home's purchase). This visit, we added a dryer vent cleaning which, apparently, really needed it! Mike and his colleague were very clean, left behind zero mess, and even moved (and replaced!) a chair in front of the fireplace AND moved out (and replaced) our washer and dryer (along with all the cleaning supplies on top of it). Talk about fantastic attention to detail and great service! read more

Fantastic service by Mike and Jose from the Irish Sweep. They checked and cleaned the vents on my 2nd story located dryer, including going up into the attic to verify everything was cleaned. They were on time, super clean (wearing boot coverings to minimize any mess), and very friendly. 100% recommend! read more

You may think of The Irish Sweep when it comes to chimneys...they are so much more! After smelling a slight burning while using my dryer, it was suggested I have the dryer vent checked. Both Kidd Fireplace (insert maintenance company) and neighbors recommend The Irish Sweep. Mike and Jose were both professional and kindly and efficiently cleaned the vents from end to end. They were also exceptional at respecting my home and cleaning up during and after service. I thought I was doing a good job by keeping the dryer lint trap cleaned but dryer vent build up is a hidden danger! Recommend them without hesitation! read more

We had them in for an installation of a wood fireplace insert. They arrived as scheduled and ready to work, having already unpacked after picking up the insert from a local dealer. They respected the home by covering their feet and rolling out protective tarp to protect our rugs. During the install process, the business owner and forewoman consulted me on a couple of install option details which was very much appreciated. The workers were also sensitive about working on the Spanish tile roof as they worked on the chimney and moved the former grate and heavy fireplace shield out of the house. In summary, unlike most businesses, they were professional ( meaning they knew what they were doing), prompt (meaming they showed up eager to work) and well worth it.(they charge a fair price) read more

They recently cleaned my dryer duct, which had gone for a very long time without cleaning. Everything about the process was positive - they arrived on time with two vans, two workers plus Sally and got to it. My vent exhausts through the roof so they got up on the roof and were able to do most of the extraction that way, finishing up in a very tight laundry room that required moving washer and dryer to get access (and then moved them back). They also did a before and after measure of airflow out the roof vent - removing the lint increased the flow by one third, in addition to fixing a potential fire hazard. Highly recommended. read more

I hired the Irish Sweep for a chimney inspection. There work was very thorough. The photographs and the analysis was very helpful and probably prevented a "major" problem in the future. Their estimate for followup work seemed reasonable. read more

Sally and her team arrived an hour early for our appointment...WOW I was nervous as I bought the house 20 years ago and was advised at the time to get it swept & never did. I used The Irish Sweep to clean my chimney when I bought my condo, and was so satisfied that years later, now on my HOA's board, recommended them when our building's 1969 vintage chimney hood-cap-thingies on the roof started blowing off due to rusty hardware and oldness. Sally and her team came out to inspect the problem, offer a newer solution, and then came back to install on six chimneys in under an hour. If everything pans out after a couple of test fires, we're going to duplicate their efforts on the building's other six chimneys. This crew is on-time, communicative, and knows their business. read more
