They understood what we wanted and suggested design that would work well. They assisted in choosing cabinetry, flooring and counter tops that all worked well together. Tom came originally to scope out the construction details and what would need to be done ex. vent for stove through attic, sub panel for electric system. Once the construction started Eric was the lead carpenter. He supervised the whole project. He was great. He kept us informed about what was happening when. He also introduced us to each of the sub contractors who came to do work. All were pleasant and professional. They put protective coverings on floors and doorways to limit dust. At the end of each day they cleaned up and vacuumed the work area. When one of the cabinet doors came in the wrong size, there was no question about replacing it. One thing I really appreciated was that construction did not start until they had received all of the cabinets, flooring, countertop etc so work went smoothly and was completed without delays.

We worked with Alyssa to help design everything, something she has great skill and a true eye for detail. She didn't try to push products or oversell us. If anything, she provided some suggestions on how to lower cost (used remnants for the quartz countertop; suggested comparing costs to Home Depot). Once the design was finalized, I was extremely impressed with Eric, the contractor who installed the island himself and oversaw the other contractors. He was excellent communicating with me each and every day. He noticed some inconsistencies in the wood on the cabinet doors of the island and immediately ordered new one (he still installed the original and came a few days later with the new doors). Everything was just so professional. I haven't had too many experiences with contractors in the past, but every one I (and my family, for that matter) have had for the most part have been negative. The project doesn't start on time, finish on time, guys no-show for no apparent reason, etc. This was the opposite. Watch City had the chance to move up the timeline, which fit into my schedule. As a result, the project was done a week early. If you're looking to do any sort of work on your kitchen, definitely give Watch City a look.

Saw a lot of nice tile and noticed that they even carry tools and other supplies needed to install tile. The most recent visit will probably be last time I will visit this store. This was the second time I was not able to get the item I was looking for. One might think that a simple hole saw for a standard shower diverter valve would be available, but no. They carry some other sizes that no one uses so they probably think the market for hole saws is not profitable. Well if you don't carry the size that people use, it won't be profitable. Great for a homeowners who just want to look at tile. But for a professional installer they just don't work. Anyway they can run their business their own way and I wish them luck.

When I brought it back, they wouldn't take back two of the boxes because they were opened on the end and the manager showed no empathy or customer service skills - just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I'm no stranger to big box stores or DIY, but this interaction was very disappointing.

We struggled for over a year to find someone to help us retro-fit our lower cabinet and counter top for a new cook top. Then we found Paul! He made sure to present us with the best possible options and then executed it wonderfully. When I decided I needed doors for my office, Paul was the first person I thought of because I wanted the job done right and to look great. I am so happy with the outcome. I highly recommend him!

We contacted Paul at DesignWorks Company (DWC) to get a bid on renovating our bathroom. Paul got…read moreright back to us and arranged to come look at our (sad, dated) bathroom. He had some great ideas on how to enhance the space, showing us how we could easily have a bigger shower. We checked with a couple of other companies, but went with DWC because we liked Paul's responsiveness, ability to explain, patience, and flexibility. The bid wasn't the cheapest, but DWC did a fantastic job and was worth every penny! Paul walked us through every step, from design ideas to site logistics to explaining the process to connecting us with wonderful, sensible local vendors for tile, fixtures, paint, and window treatments. He and his crew are reliable, trustworthy, friendly, and CLEAN, besides being outstanding craftsmen. The subcontractors he engages are just as wonderful. They all have a good relationship with the city and took care of all permits and communication with the city. His ability to coordinate and adjust schedules kept the project humming along - it was finished in less time than anticipated despite a global pandemic hitting right at the end! He and his subs worked with the city to get everything signed off despite the city's shutdown. If you've read this far, I hope you'll let me share a story or two. How clean are they at DWC? They set up a staging area in a spare room with plastic walls and floor covering, and covered the stairs as well. One day I looked out the window to see them vacuuming the *driveway* at the end of a day when they were sawing outdoors. How good are they? They found a squeaky subfloor board on the landing and fixed it (yes, it cost extra) because they were worried it might warp the tiles in the bathroom. The subcontractors pointed out many times little details that made them want to work with DWC. How creative are they? They wanted to recess our medicine cabinet but found a pipe behind the wall. So they bumped out the wall there so we could have a recessed cabinet (which we hadn't even thought of, but which looks much nicer than one hanging on the wall). How quiet are they? I work from home, and they never disturbed me. Or our dog, for that matter, but she's pretty deaf. In fact, they were always happy to see her, which of course endeared them to me even more. How perfectionist are they? They fixed some dings made in the other rooms in the course of the work and even had the painter do the stairway, even though most of those dings were done by us. Finally, if you've read this far, the DWC crew and everyone who works with them are just plain NICE. It was a pleasure to have them work with us, and I would engage them again in a heartbeat.

With one project, some tile was delayed and Mickey rode all the way to the Cape to deliver the materials in time for the contractors. I was excited to work with them again on a much larger project--a kitchen and a bathroom. We visited the showroom and were given a list of stone yards to visit. We picked out a few slabs for quotes and emailed them to Nauhana along with our kitchen plans. I got an email back saying "we'll be in touch soon!" A week goes by and I don't hear anything, so I call. I speak to someone else on the phone who says "not sure why she didn't get back to you but I'll take a look at this and email you tonight." Things happen, I understand that. But then I don't hear anything. That was on June 7th, almost two weeks ago. I've received nothing. No follow up, nothing. Two different employees ghosted me. Even if they didn't want to take on my project, they could have at least told me. They delayed us. Serves us right for not shopping around more. And then I just received a generic follow up email, obviously from some bot or something. It irked me but made me laugh more than anything. "Perfect!" WTF? It also reminded me to write this review, so thanks.
