He asks a budget (should have known then) then hard sells a deck (later found out is not very good) and charged double msrp for it along with a card that was "highly recommended for the already overpriced deck. A $45 precon I could have ordered online or target, but instead payed $80 for, and $50 for a card that "went really well with it" Both were the first he recommended and I should have known better. It is a tiny location but the have built it out brilliantly with beautiful displays! Tons of graded T206 cards (the old tobacco cards), and just beautiful vintage stuff all over! My son and I went with a few of his little league team mates after his game tonight. We are so glad we heard about it. All sorts of new and old stuff even including some original Allen and Ginter cards. The owner was so kind and was beaming like a new parent at his beautiful shop! He had gift bags for the kiddos and even gave me a few for my other sons who weren't there. Amazing selection, fair prices, nice owner... This shop will do well! Congratulations again! I've been conflicted about leaving a review of this store but I had two notable experiences this…read moremonth that deserve sharing. When I first began shopping at T206 I was excited by their inventory of Pokemon cards and the traditional binder of cards you can flip through at the front counter. I came in with a friend just two weeks ago and it happened to be the same day as a women's basketball game. When we walked into the store, there were three female employees SCREAMING at an iPad they were using to watch the game at the front counter. When you look through their card binders, it has to be done at the same front counter where these employees were watching the game. This meant we had to stand beside screaming employees whilst shopping for our cards. I don't have sensitive hearing, but when I was having a difficult time dealing with this. This was the first experience we had and I tried to let it go until our encounter with one of the same employees yesterday. I came back to T206 with two friends this time. We asked for the card binder, and the second the binder was handed to us, one of the female employees came running out of the back to say "don't mind me I'm just oogling these cards because I haven't had a chance to look at the binder today." This employee then waited for me to flip each and every card page so that she could grab cards faster than we could even look at them. After literally snatching about 10 cards in front of us and either the manager or owner we watched this employee walk to the back of the store without another word. None of this situation was acknowledged or addressed. Isn't a card store supposed to be selling cards to customers? I regret even making a purchase after this experience. My friends and I have given this store several hundreds of dollars in business (~$300 each almost every time) and this is the type of environment they're cultivating for their customers. We will not be returning to this card store again. There are many other great stores in Sonoma county that have far better customer service. There are many other stores in the area that have better selection and treat their customers with basic decency. I totally understand wanting to watch the game (even though sports are boring) or buying cards for yourself on your lunch break but there's a time and place for everything.
