You can try a different cup of drip coffee depending on what they decide to make that day.

When we arrived, and found parking, the was a sign out front that said "available two doors down". We went down to Hopewell bakery (it's wonderful). To find Marco's coffee setup for sale to be brewed at home, or a carafe of Marco's coffee set up on the bar. I did get a cup of coffee to try. And a sample bag to try at home. The coffee was nothing spectacular. It can be compared to hotel lobby coffee, honestly. Thank goodness we found the gem that is Hopewell, so the trip was not wasted.

The natural sweetness of the fig syrup mellows the bold bitterness of the espresso, creating a harmonious flavor profile. The citrusy brightness of the orange adds a refreshing, zesty note that complements the deep, rich tones of the coffee. Left to his own creativity, the barista created the perfect ratio of ingredients and was spot on with adding a splash of oat milk to give the drink, a little creaminess without taking away from the taste. It was the perfect drink for a stroll through the farmers market, offering a sophisticated yet refreshing experience that pairs beautifully with a relaxed, sunny morning. One of the best features is all of their selection is listed on the drive thru menu board. Sometime you go to a donut restaurant place and all of the possibilities are not listed. So you end up ordering by memory and obviously you end up with the same thing. I ordered a mixed dozen donuts so I could try a wide selection of options. I also had an apple fritter thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed the fritter as well as the maple sugar donut. The glazed donuts were also enjoyable. The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. I also ordered a small 8oz coffee. You really do not know how small 8oz is until you order one. Tiny cup. Next time I stop by I will order some more of their exotic donuts and get a 16oz coffee. Take a moment and stop by their drive thru and get you some Dounts to start your day off right.

The pizza was surprisingly decent, and I have to say it arrived at lightning speed. When I say it was ready in minutes, I mean MINUTES. If there had been a stopwatch involved, I suspect the pizza would have won. The highlight of the visit was Anthony, who was tending bar. He was an absolute gem. Friendly, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. The conversation alone made the stop worthwhile, and I would gladly come back just to sit at the bar and chat with him again. The sweet tea was fantastic, which, from what I've learned while visiting Kentucky, is a fairly serious category of competition. For dessert, I had a warm cinnamon pretzel topped with ice cream, and it was outstanding. If you're debating whether to order dessert, stop debating and just do it. One thing I've noticed about restaurants in Kentucky is that they appear to believe air conditioning is both a utility and a competitive sport. If you're visiting from out of town, consider bringing a sweater or dressing in layers. The dining room was cool enough that I briefly wondered whether I should have ordered hot chocolate. Will I be back? Maybe. If I return, I'll probably do the sensible thing and try one of the burgers that everyone keeps raving about. Until then, Fat Patty's gets credit for great service, excellent sweet tea, a fantastic dessert, and for reminding me that sometimes the best part of a meal is the people you meet along the way.
