My daughter (8yrs) and I visited this place near the end of July. This is our first time trying a shop like this. We just got our pieces back, and we're both really happy with how they turned out. My daughter chose to paint and fire a small mushroom figure and I did the same for a soccer ball piggy bank. From start to finish, it took us a little over two hours to complete our projects. The family owners were great, giving us very friendly and helpful guidance on how to paint and style our pieces, and if you needed some assistance throughout the process, they were right there to help. Our glazed peices were returned to us after 3 days but I understand it can take up to a calendar week. All told, we spent about $100 for two projects (statues, paint, and glazing) and a takeaway slime kit for the kid. There are a ton of project options to choose from, small and large. The daughter and I are already planning the return trip. She wants to do a puppy dog piggy bank, and I see a custom cereal bowl and coffee mug in my near future. What was special about this place is the atmosphere itself. It's open with lots of light. People of all ages were there, and who came and went during our visit - it felt like a real place of community and creativity. It's very inviting and very easy to relax and enjoy the time you spend here. My daughter and I are not professionals in this area of craft so it's safe to say our finished pieces are not the most awe-inspiring or amazing works of art...but we made them ourselves and that makes the pieces special to us, and we had a great time doing it! Wow what a cute place! I had a bad experience with the Fremont Hot Spot, but this one in Union City is SO NICE! It's very spacious and the staff was so lovely! It's the same procedure you get your pottery get your paints and just sit down to paint. There's a cute playlist in the background of radio hits and the staff occasionally checks in with you to see if you need help. The colors are all so pretty and there's plenty of examples of what the colors will look like after the kiln. I was sad to leave my plates but I'm so excited to see how they look after the fact! I needed to find a spot that both my elderly mom and kids could go to for a little family outing during the crazy heat wave we had last weekend. I was SO lucky to find this new gem in the Union City area!!!! They had all sorts of artsy things to do from painting ceramics, canvases, fairy gardens, mosaics (which I did) and the dreaded but universally loved SLIME. The kids had a blast making two sets of slime and I was able to actually sit down and enjoy making some crafts myself. My mom was happy as a clam just being out of her house, somewhere cool, and hanging out with us. Overall win-win-win. Also, shout out to the new owners and their family. The folks who own this place are incredibly sweet, patient, and accommodating. You can feel the love and care that they are bringing to this place.
