Was looking for something relaxing to do with my sister. We found The Honey Throne and decided to give the business a try. We have done a V Steam before at Tikkun in Santa Monica and the experience was INCREDIBLE! This visit was ok. The steams are one temperature and cannot be adjusted unless you ask for assistance. The seats are comfy until you get about 15 mins into the session. We also had the ionic foot detox service at the same time as it was a package deal. The position of being in the steam seat and then feet in the water soak was uncomfortable and a challenge to maintain a comfy open leg position for the steam. Also, after reading up on iconic foot detox services once we were finished seemed like the foot soak just isn't all that is meant to be. The assistance provided by the staff member was nice and she was very helpful. The owners have done their best to make the atmosphere welcoming and like a spa - but the vibe really wasn't there. I originally put down a deposit for a party of 4, but my girls couldn't make it so he went with me and the owner was so accommodating when I called to tell her day of. I am so happy that I went because it was more than just a steam experience, it was like a spiritual experience as well. Bambi facilitated our experience and she was just so dope!!! Her introduction was everything my partner and I needed to hear about this spa/act of self care and healing. It was sooo good that I purchased 2 gift cards at the end for my mother and my sister (I still need to nudge them to go). Pros- I didn't feel cramps and noticed I didn't pms for 2 cycles after my period Cons- it was a lil too hot (but technically that's not up to them. you can easily give your self as many breaks or steam for as little as you want and I think for my first time I forced myself to stay put with my legs up the whole time thinking I could reap more benefits and it was a little OD lol) and my vagina felt a little dry for 2 days after but then everything was back to normal I will definitely be back when I'm in town. Finding the place was a little tough because it's located in a salon and there is construction going on outside and within the building but it's well worth it so don't judge the experience based on the outside of the building. Bambi was our consultant/ co-owner and she was so nice and made us feel very pampered. When I was standing and talking with Bambi and D who did my steam I didn't feel any different. My best friend and I came here to start the new year off right and they did NOT disappoint! I feel horrible because I don't remember the Queen's name who catered to us. She was AMAZING. Very attentive and informative. The Honey Throne is a little gem buried in the back of a hair salon. The receptionist checks you in and offers you water. The first room we went into had a few chairs. Two wooden baskets held a fresh pair of flip flops and a long black moomoo (). We were asked to take off all of our clothes and place in the baskets and dress in the moomoos. After we changed, Queen showed us a variety of herbs settled on a shelf. You can choose your own blend; however, Queen provides a blend that is the perfect mixture for almost anyone. We were then lead about 5 ft across the hall to the actual Honey Throne. It is 4 'thrones' (vsteam chairs) seperated by sheer pulled back drapes. Our names were written on a cute little chalkboard placed inside of a gold plated crown. The seat is comfortably covered and your back rests against a few pillows. There's a mirror framed in white and gold flowers in one corner and in the other is light that dimly brightens the room just enough for to see the gold glitter wall. Queen had us put the crowns on, sit on the throne, place our hands on our wombs and repeat after her, a women's mantra that moved both of us. Our steam then began... The steam was definitely over warm but did not burn. It was so refreshing. You could smell the herbs. We were served flutes of champagne. The steam was about 50 minutes. Queen did not interrupt as me and best friend talked and joked and laughed. When our time was up, we dressed, paid and left. It was $100 for 2ppl and was worth it! I felt cleansed, healed, etc. I'll definitely be back. read more
