Darren was the only person who cared to assist me in purchasing items on the floor. He was awesome!! But, when I bought a patio pit, and no one tried to help or request to. I asked the garden clerk, to get assistance to the car, he said, " it's easy to carry, but its not heavy at all." I had to literally drag it to the car. So much for customer service. I guess the holidays are up and assistance isn't required for some.

Damaged dishwasher.

I recently ordered a LG dishwasher from Home Depot in Lincoln and scheduled a delivery for the following Monday. Their delivery driver called after the delivery window had passed and said that the dish washer that had been loaded onto the truck for delivery was apparently hit by a fork lift and damaged so badly the door would not open. Why would they put it on the truck with that kind of damage!? Why not just load a new, undamaged washer for delivery?! I don't know the answer to that but he rescheduled delivery. The second delivery day came and went without a call or any type of notification. When I called the delivery people they said the driver ran out of time on his route they and rescheduled for the following week. Third delivery day came and the delivery window passed without delivery OR notification about what was happening. I called again. They said they dish washer was severely damaged....AGAIN. See pic. I called Home Depot in Lincoln and explained that I had taken three days off work to accept delivery. Now four weeks have passed, they won't EVEN TRY delivery again for another week. The appliance person talked to the manager. Nada. No help at all. They can't even guarantee that if I take another day off they'll deliver on this new date! WTH Home Depot?!? This dish washer is costing me double what I originally paid. STILL NO DISHWASHER!! * I'll update if I ever get the thing. * UPDATE: Aug 3, another scheduled delivery day. They called again to cancel because they damaged the dishwasher AGAIN and will have to reorder. They'll try to deliver again in three weeks. That's seven weeks total (if it comes at all) for a dishwasher they promised in a few days. That's one no-show and three damaged dishwashers. Four separate delivery dates and...nothing. UPDATE: Went into the store on August 9th. Got a dishwasher from the floor for the same price as the one I bought, but never got. Thanks to the assistant manager for making that happen. Unfortunately, I had to pay another $600+ for it and wait two or three days for a refund on the one I never got. Something about paperwork from the delivery people. By Friday I had not received a refund. I called and they said I should have it by Monday. Monday, August 16th and no refund. I go back to the store. They say it will be at a minimum, another week before I see my refund. They don't know why I was told differently last week. I speak to customer service. They call the delivery people and confirm whatever they needed to confirm. Finally got my refund. Needless to say I will never go back to Home Depot. This has been an expensive nightmare.

Landscaping rocks
Ashleigh L.

This is usually my go-to Home Depot. Earlier this year we bought a pre-built barbecue and the associate eagerly helped us get the floor model due to the fact that the outside models were rusty. More recently, we purchased 25 bags of landscaping rocks and they brought them to the truck with a forklift and helped us load them (without asking). I really love the store itself. Posting here to hopefully get someone to help me since corporate Home Depot won't. I am pretty disappointed that I order 50 bags of rocks to be delivered to my house, and they scratched my finished garage floors. I now understand that this was a 3rd party delivery service, but the insurance company Home Depot pretty much told me they only deal with appliance issues and someone from the 3rd party deliver company would call me. That was a few weeks ago now, have heard from no one.

It's completely ridiculous that there is one cash-only cashier working on a Saturday afternoon. The line was ten people deep. Considering how many dozens of employees are always standing around doing nothing for $15/hour, Home Depot should be embarrassed. The self-checkout kiosks barely work. I just said screw it and left my stuff. I'll buy what I need on Amazon, which is usually cheaper and more convenient.

I didn't have to lift a finger when it came to loading up the entire bed of the truck with mulch, flowers, shrubs and trees.

They stand head and shoulders above the big competitors like home depot and lowes, especially when it comes to customer service and satisfaction! While prices may not be lower, they are fairly comparable and the quality is at least as good as the Goliath hardware stores. I appreciate Ace and will continue to visit them for years to come, I'm sure!

My experience at this store today was nothing short of exhausting and deeply unprofessional. In my…read moreopinion, owner/manager Lance Gresko demonstrated a striking lack of integrity, patience, basic managerial competence, and even the most elementary math skills. I came in to make a simple Thanksgiving purchase and exchanged one mistaken item for another. The exchange was rung up incorrectly at a higher price than it should have been. After checking my receipt in my car, I went back inside to get the issue resolved. The assistant manager admitted he couldn't figure out the discrepancy, so I requested to speak with the actual manager. Lance approached me with a dismissive, almost irritated attitude, insisting "his computer could not be wrong." Despite me calmly showing him the numbers on a calculator--numbers anyone could verify--he repeatedly refused to walk through the transaction or check the math in a logical way. I entered the same simple calculation in front of him three times, yet it still didn't click. Only after persistent asking did he reluctantly agree to ring the item through as a pretend sale, and sure enough, the numbers on his own system matched what I had been trying to show him from the beginning. He then disappeared to the back again, presumably to re-check what was now undeniably obvious. After over 30 minutes of back-and-forth, he finally admitted he and the system had been wrong the entire time. At one point, while we were literally looking at the numbers on his screen, he even threatened to kick me out simply because I said, "Can we just let logic prevail that $29.xx minus a $10 credit is $19.xx?" Once the refund was finally issued, I asked for his name and the corporate number. Instead of providing them, he told me he was the owner and ordered me to leave the store. As I walked out, an employee collecting carts yelled an insult at me referencing my long hair--a level of childishness I honestly found more pathetic than offensive. He said "nice pony tail, faggot." In my personal experience, Lance showed a profound lack of professionalism and integrity, coupled with an inability to handle a basic customer-service scenario or perform simple arithmetic. This visit made it clear to me that customer concerns are treated as annoyances rather than responsibilities. I won't be returning. Right after I posted this on Google reviews they made a fake review. Expect the same here.

UPDATE: Welp... three and a half years after the opening of…read moreEmigh Ace Hardware things are even more incredible. Seems like a strange word, incredible, for a hardware store? This Emigh has become an El Dorado Hill's favorite. Hands down. It is definitely the community store for everyone. The customer service EXCEEDS (yes in caps) any I have received anywhere. You walk in and you, the paying customer, are greeted and asked if you need help. I am still amazed by that. The many times I have come to Emighs for very specific needs 99 percent ends with just the right gadget, advice or information I needed. I would not stand a chance at the big box stores (hello... anyone working here:)) The value of having a store of this quality so close by is priceless. Yes, you may pay a little more here but time is money in my book. A car phone holder? Yes! They had it. And the employee who led me directly to the small cache of choices even installed it in my car!!! Big thank you shout out for that. Now you know why "incredible " is the perfect adjective for describing EDH Emigh. It is starting to look a lot like Christmas!!! Wow! Last night I walked in the front door to the largest display of Christmas inventory I have yet to see. I had to catch my breath. I immediately texted the GF and she replied back, oh yes, she had already been there a week ago and purchased some very cool holiday items. She is always in the know. You have to see it to believe it. There is definitely no need to go to Pottery World:). Thank you to whomever owns this store. It makes us all feel very lucky to have you. The takeaway... you do not have to live in El Dorado Hills to shop here. So come on down. P.S. Select Apple Hill pies in the refrigerated bin! I kid you not.
