As I was walking in a friendly employee said good morning to me, so I felt like that set my visit off in a good direction. I was looking for door hooks and saw the sign that said , "Hardware" so I was in the right place pretty quickly. I thought I had found the hook I wanted but when I was looking in the bin where that hook was supposed to be, I found a hook I liked a lot better so I bought it instead. Placed an order online and got a confirmation for pickup within a few minutes. All employees at the store were wearing masks. The customer service desk was well staffed and all I had to provide was the order number. The employee got my order immediately and I was good to go. The receipt was sent to my email and the whole purchase was seamless. The store followed social distancing guidelines and ensured the safety of employees and customers. This goes a long way as we work thru these tough times. They also offer curbside pickup. read more

My husband and I were needing to work on our garden. Please keep in mind that I am writing this review during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were both wearing masks as we entered. Many customers were not and the door greeter said absolutely nothing to them, even though it is mandatory to wear a mask when in public. I mean, if customers want to be selfish a-holes and not care if they give the virus to others, they will have to live with that. But the employee greeter not stopping and reminding them to put on a mask? But the real kicker was when I saw EMPLOYEES not wearing masks. Yes, most were. Not all. I do not reviews usually but I felt I needed to give Vanessa at the North Irving Home Depot an excellent rating. I recently purchased a 2 piece tool chest and had it delivered. Upon unpacking I saw that the upper portion had been damaged to the point the bottom drawer would not open. I called the customer service desk waited on hold for 15 minutes and was finally answered by someone who said Adam, the manager , would call me back in 15-20 minutes. After waiting an hour I called back and was put in contact with Vanessa. I explained what the problem was. She checked her system, found that they did not have another top unit in stock there and arranged to have one brought in. She said they would deliver two days from then. Come delivery day and I received a follow up call from Vanessa who told me they were loading it up and would have it out to me shortly. She said the driver would call. 15 minutes later I received a call from Maroof, the driver to let me know he was on the way. I'd like to thank Vanessa and Maroof !!!!! It appears they are well versed in GREAT customer service . THANK YOU to both of you. Your employer should be proud to have you !!! BTW. I'm still waiting on a call from the manager Adam. He should take lessons from Vanessa and Maroof. If I were the management team at Home Depot I'd seriously consider promoting Vanessa to Adam's position. It was simply an elimination process but our service rep patiently worked with us and even went and got what we needed to repair our problem. We never left the service counter. I tried to cancel the order after that and was told I couldn't cancel but once I got it I could return it to a store for a refund. This is a good and busy location. Compared to some, not as good, but I still work my way into this location because it has a convenient location near my office. I like that everything is under one roof as compared to the one near me. The staff will help you when you need it, but I wasn't impressed with the lack of knowledge when I was inquiring about a new drill. We called Saturday afternoon, your pickup desk said it was ready, so we drove to pick it up. Your staff said, yes, it was ready. We just had to add on the legs, which they said was easy. But we noticed the box we purchased wasn't even open. And, of course, it wasn't assembled, as promised. So it was a wasted trip, and still no assembled grill. We chose your company to be able to use the assembled grill Saturday evening. It was a big disappointment. Hard to find fault with a Home Depot. I bought some paint here and a few other small things. Note: Their markup on paint is HUGE so if you take your paint home, paint the wall and find it doesn't dry like you want, take the paint back and they'll accept it. It's like some kinda conspiracy that the markup is so enormous, so don't be shy returning like 1/4 a gallon of paint. They don't care. But aside from that, I found what I needed, and there were a number of associates standing around either looking for someone to help or for something to do. Stopped at this Home Depot on my way to work last week. I needed some fresh life for my office desk so I figured it was the smartest move to look through the Nursery section. It was early in the morning so I did not really expect anyone to be around or helping, but as soon as I stepped in the Nursery I was guided to the succulent section. The Home Depot employees that process the return are very helpful but they use a third party shipping company to pick up the returns (Called NSD). the experience with that company is terrible. Just look up their reviews and see for yourself. Home Depot needs to work with a different carrier for this part of the return process because it's making me never want to order from Home Depot again on the off chance I have to return it and deal with this company again. I've had a large 300lb vanity sitting in my front yard for 2 weeks now because this company keeps not scheduling or no showing when they finally do schedule a pickup time. Went to this store to purchase PPE (safety supplies, equipment) it seems that some of the employees at this facility have no idea where in their store the safety supplies are located. To some that may be nothing, during this time of great concern for personal safety it is a "SHAME" that the employees at Home Depot (specifically) at this store (Irving Texas) have NO CLUE as to where the safety equipment, supplies are located. Worst customer service ever. Needed help with a particular electrical part and there was no employee in sight. It's like they deliberately avoid customers. I had to go to the customer service desk and ask for help. I politely say "excuse me?" to the lady behind the desk and she looks at me and walks away to another employee to have a chat. I say "excuse me?" again and she rudely replies "give me a minute". She ends her chat and then gets on the walkie-talkie to have a chat with another employee. All the time I'm just standing there. Minutes pass before she hangs up and now she's just standing there. I have to say "excuse me?" again to get her attention and she begrudgingly replies "what?". Now she tells me someone else will help me. Minutes later a man shows up and he's even worse! He's pissed off that a customer needs help and barely helps me before running off. What the heck? To add to it, I'm charged twice for the same purchase! Wtf? This is the worst customer service. Employees are rude and antisocial. The lady behind the desk is named "Rebecca". This is an awesome clean store! I walk In and was immediately greeted and he helped me find my way without moving from his spot but advised someone in that section will be there to guide me if needed. Sure enough when I got to my aisle two people were there to help! I got everything I needed in less than 3 minutes! When I got to the cashier I asked for the return policy in case the product didn't work and he said I had 90 days! Well I didn't need that because I used the product today and it worked perfect. What a fun activity to fill up the morning and get them learning how to make stuff on their own. 2. Call out to outstanding customer service from DUSTIN. This Home Depot cracks me up. I'm a theatre teacher so I buy a fairly significant amount of lumber considering I'm A) not a building contractor and B) a woman, The employees I've encountered here tend to be well into or past middle aged and almost never believe that I know what I'm talking about. That's okay though, even though I usually end up getting exactly what I came in for, there's been a few times that they've taken me on adventures through the store convinced they know better and they were actually right! For example, my hidden passageway behind a fireplace would have been built entirely differently if I didn't have the patience to listen to three 60+ year old Home Depot workers talk it out. They rip plywood for free here and have always been great when working with the poor, sweet students I have sent out to buy things - including easily returning a bulk of 2x4s that were supposed to be 1x4s that a kiddo accidentally bought. I only docked them a star because they don't have as much in stock as some other stores so I've had to make runs to the Southlake store when I find them lacking. The people here really are great, though, so I highly recommend any DIYers needing some assistance come listen to the advice that the employees will happily share. read more

As with all of my experiences with this location, this was a quick and easy event. Everything is organized in functional spaces, but what I love about Home Depot versus other home improvement store: They anticipate your potential needs! If you're on an aisle for particular hardware, they have the tools to help with the job in that location on small racks so as to save you the hunt. They also list the aisles that you might find needs in while looking at your current purchase. Example: Buying paint- in the same area they have small displayed of the base-line masking tape even though the full line of tape is in another area. Its just helpful and the people are always knowledgeable and friendly. read more

The Home Depot is one the worst companies I've ever purchased anything from online. After spending well over $2,000 for a washer and dryer, they refused to install both machines because they didn't include the stacking kit which I was falsely led t believe it was included with all the other parts I paid for. Then they wouldn't work with me on the installation if I had gone out and bought the exact kit need to secure the stacking. The reason I offered is because The Home Depot didn't have any in stock to purchase but Best Buy did have it at a nearby location. They were nasty and rude towards me and said the kit had to purchased through them otherwise they were forbidden to install the washer and dryer because everything needed to be purchased from The Home Depot. The company's policy says so therefore they didn't give a damn about me as a customer. All they cared about is that I spend another $39 for the stacking kit and charge an additional $60 to install it when I had already purchased the installation. And in no way would they prioritize my delivery and installation even though I had already waited weeks for the the machines to be delivered. I couldn't even reschedule another date because they didn't have the stacking kit in stock (I believe this was a lie because Best Buy had plenty available in their stores all over town). Now who knows when I will get the washer and dryer I paid for a month ago (including delivery and installation). All because these idiots don't have all the parts in stock that are needed to fulfill an order. Why offer services you can't deliver on? Stupid! read more

This is my local Home Depot where I go for everything from light bulbs to AC filters. Great staff, very helpful and well laid-out store. Not sure about the complaints about self-checkout...I love their self-checkout...it's 2011, and if a store doesn't have it, I will typically avoid that store in the future. A lack of ability to use self-checkout is NOT a reason to give a store 1 star. read more
