Honestly I usually get great customer service from this place. They're usually no hassle and have been flexible with me about pricing and returns and things. And generally I feel like they've bent over backwards to be generous and helpful l 1 less star for a singular negative experience: wouldn't recommend getting anything "assembled for you" and brought curbside though, they tried to offer me a weathered dented bbq and pretend they had no other stock. Thank goodness for actual good customer service inside and the magic of the internet telling me they had 45 in stock... it all worked out in the end after many hoops to jump through but with the return, price correction, retrieving it from an upper pallet boxed... it added 60min to the whole process kudos to the forklift driving lady, customer service and one of the in store guys who I flagged down to help 3 out of 4 of you were still exceptional. read more

Just left at 2:02pm on Monday August 10th Having an awful man be totally rude to us at the pro checkout. We were standing for a while noticing there was no scanner and the checkout guy was completely ignoring us while chatting with another customer. I simply asked him an easy question of "is there a scanner for this checkout" and the guy went on and on lecturing us about being the only person there and that he can only go so fast blah blah blah. We just asked a simple question and he was insanely rude intentionally trying to embarrass us. Even the guy he was helping was completely annoyed by him. And this happens EVERY time at this MISERABLE Home Depot. - Train your staff better. We as long standing members of the community and business owners, do not like being rude to - especially when we are kind. Luckily Amazon exists. Never going back after that awful experience. Will post to local community pages as well. read more

Bottom Line: This place is a struggle I'm just going to make this as simple as I can; - Bossman gave me a gift card he had purchased from the store - Attempted to purchase products online - Scratched the back of the card as instructed - Wasn't warned beforehand to not scratch the scracth-off area, and scratched off the pin - Had to go to the store to ask about it - Got the PIN from a kind, professional and courteous customer service employee - Walked over to the checkout area to ask if they could order something for me online, (as the part isn't IN the store) but I was already in the store - Attempted to explain but this request it was beyond the capacity of this institution - Simply went home to order what I needed from the site - Card has zero balance The above wasted hours of my life are certainly not the first and certainly not the last. I have had so many painful interactions in this store and it goes back decades. Today just prompted me to actually write a review and this one leaves a bad taste in my mouth for sure. I'm going to go ahead and leave off the phone call I made regarding the zero balance gift card that also lasted nearly an hour as it doesn't pertain to anything this store has done but it's a nice cherry to add to the story. The only people that I have consistently had a positive experience with are the Customer Service people, just inside the entrance. Against all odds, these folks are out there doing what I would imagine is the hardest job in the store. read more

The selection of product here is abysmal. Everything is always out of stock. Don't understand why they even have a store here if the shelves are always going to be empty. Also takes 30 minutes to find an employee to help you out. Store is not what it used to be back in its prime read more

BEWARE APPLIANCE PURCHASERS! I have just had the worst customer service experience of my life. I purchased a dishwasher from Home Depot, which was installed by them on Tuesday. I was told that they couldn't install the brackets without removing the countertop, but the installers assured me it would be fine because it was a nice snug fit. The dishwasher was running when they left. Four days later, I tried to run the dishwasher and the door would not properly close, and the dishwasher would not turn on. I spoke with managers both at the national office and at Goleta Home Depot and they refused to have their installers return and fix the problem because it was past their 48 hour return window. To be clear, I was not asking to return the dishwasher. I was asking them to fix the installation problem. They said they would only do that if I had purchased an extended warranty. This was FOUR days after installation! Now I am out almost $800 and do not have a functioning dishwasher. This does not seem like it shouldn't be legal. Never making another purchase at Home Depot again! read more

I am so grateful that Home Depot is in such a convenient location. They usually have everything I need and the employees are very knowledgeable and personable. The prices are decent and there is a wide selection of items. I recently bought seeds here, shoutout to the very approachable garden department :) and am loving my green beans and flowers. read more

The HD cashier in Gardening charged me twice for a watering can. I went immediately back to the bin the can came from, removed the price sign and brought it with the receipt and the can back to the same person at the same register. She acknowledged the error but told me she could not credit me for the extra watering can and sent me to Customer Service. I ended up having to wait in line 3 X to buy this item. read more

Terrible dishwasher install job! Brought dented dishwasher the first time...ok. No worries. New one came a week later and was 'installed' and instantly the dishwasher drain into the sink leaked. Never mind the mess the installer left in the kitchen. Called them to finish the install properly and they said they'd be there the next day and they were a no-show. Then Saturday AM I got an email that said they would show up in a couple hours. Finally showed up and said they couldn't add caulking to prevent the leak under the sink. Pointless to have them out. I walk in so hopeful, but quickly get sad. The store is just a mess, literally. Trash on the floor, merchandise just dumped wherever there's a shelf, shopping carts full of cardboard debris left over from stocking shelves just parked and abandoned. The store clearly gets more merchandise than they can handle, so it just randomly gets put in any open spot they can find. Tool Boxes with refrigerators, cases of laminate flooring displayed with plumbing. And the fact that the aisles now can barely accommodate one shopper walking through from all the clutter and pop up cardboard displays doesn't seem to phase them. Hire and train some people, organize shelves, take a broom off the rack and put it to use, show some pride. I can't wait to read Home Depot's AI generated auto-response to this post that'll mean nothing and go no where. read more

My refrigerator died last Sunday so I went to Home Depot and purchased a new one. I requested it be delivered on Tuesday morning as I had to work in the afternoon. On Tuesday I got a message from Home Depot that said that they would have to reschedule the delivery to Wednesday. I called Home Depot and requested the delivery to be anytime between 8 AM and 1 PM. Yesterday I got a message from Home Depot that they would not be able to deliver it until the afternoon. So I had to shorten my day to get back in time for the delivery. I then got another text message from Home Depot saying that it would be delivered today between one and 5 PM. So I canceled my work and stayed home. An hour ago I got another text message from Home Depot that they would not be delivering today and that they would reschedule the delivery. On several phone calls to actual people with Home Depot, they were all very apologetic and and gave various vague reasons as to why I didn't get my refrigerator delivered. I just got off the phone with another customer service agent who told me that the refrigerator would be delivered within 24 to 48 hours. WHAT ?!?!I told her I didn't believe her and that I don't trust or believe anything Home Depot says. So now I have to wait again to hear about when my refrigerator may or may not be delivered. The absolute worst in Customer Service. But given that the owner of Home Depot is a Trumper, how much good faith can I really expect? read more

Always have a horrible time here and avoid it all costs. I just walked out because they took my cart away when I was down the aisle and then didn't know what happened to it. I was told the manager probably put it away because he doesn't like carts in the aisle. So I didn't buy anything and left. Shop local. Shop Miners instead. This place sucks. read more

This company is a nightmare. On the 28th of last month my houses fridge kicked the bucket. So we bought a new fridge off this organizations website because I am a type one diabetic and my supplies need to be kept cold. With assurance it would be to us by Saturday between 3-7pm. Saturdays time came and went and not a word from anyone. So my wife whos card purchased the fridge called them up. According to the person she spoke too it was on the truck, and they don't know why it didn't get here, but in an act of good faith they gave her a mini fridge to keep my insulin cold, with the promise it would be here Tuesday the 2nd. Well guess what??? Tuesdays time came and left so we cc called again and they told us that it will be delivered on Saturday the 6th. We told them that was unacceptable. I asked to speak to the girls manager as she was being very rude with me, and I told the manager I was thinking about just canceling my order, but I had to talk to my wife first. And while he was on the phone i did and we decided to give it one more chance. But Jose, told us he already canceled it and since it was canceled there was nothing to be done about the order. He said he thought we were finished then hung up on me. And now are taking the price of the mini fridge out of what they are putting back in my wife's card.... Home Depot, I have shopped with you probably longer then any of the kids I spoke with yesterday have been alive. Your company should be ashamed of themselves for treating long time customers like how I was treated over this. I am spreading the word far and wide about this because I know you won't have my business any longer nor anyone in my family's, and I hope when more people read about this it turns them away as well. I used to look forward to going to the Depot, but now I hope I never see your orange sign again. Edit: Looks as if the store manager wants to fix it by telling me to click on a web link, although there is none provided. Good try tho. I'm still waiting for them to credit my wife's acconot back so we can order another fridge. We nlare now longer then a week with out a fridge. We are burning through what saving we had having to eat out because home depot refused to honor their agreement of a set delivery date and pushed it back, then did it again, then canceled try the order with out me telling them too. All in all, I have never been treated this way by a store I've been shopping at for over three quarters of my 41 years of life... read more

I've been using Home Depot for many things over the years. I needed a mailbox replacement lock. I was walking down the aisle and there was a young man restocking something. I asked where the mailbox locks were. He didn't even blink and said it's down this isle right had side in bin number, it's towards the bottom. I was blown away it as exactly where he said it was. I'm so sorry I didn't get his name. I've never had anyone pretty much at any store know so exactly where something was without having to look it up. Clean cut young man with glasses. This was this evening 3/19 about 6:30. They should recognize this guy if they can identify him from this information. read more

I came in to get some copies of a key. As I walked to the key kiosk, I scoured high and low for an employee near the vicinity. I called the store TWICE today, to make an appointment to select custom kitchen cabinets and countertops. I was on hold 15 minutes the first time and 10 minutes the second time: I'm taking my business to Lowe's. HD needs to do change how they use their phones. After stopping at a flower shop, a pedicure, and a latte -- a stop at Home Depot gets my testosterone flowing and affirms my manhood.  Whether you're a expert, contractor, or walk around with a continual question mark over your head -- this place is for you. They have help when you need it BEYOND the learning thru Google or Youtube and a DIY video.  Sure, you don't have the customer service like the little mom & pop shops, but you've got rock bottom prices just a smidgen over the wholesale (well, the pandemic has certainly raised all prices!).  With the enormous selection of everything under the sun, this can only be compared to other "big kid on campus", Lowe's. I was on a valiant quest for paint sample colors. Luckily Home Depot will mix any color you ask for, or bring in a sample of, and process it in small jars to test the paint/color/thickness etc. before buying larger cans. I was in search of both a coral and aquamarine color which I readily found on their epic wall of paint sample hues. The gallant gentleman in the paint department could not be more helpful! He brainstormed with me about the best gloss varnish to purchase as well for both my medium and base material. I went to check out but was promptly distracted by a display of an array of gorgeous rare succulents, which now have a permanent home on my windowsill! All in all, a triumphant shopping experience. read more

Tereasita and Robert were extremely helpful and engaging. And they helped us save $50 instantly on our purchase. Everyone in the store was extremely helpful and took the time to answer our questions. As most of you know Home Depot stores are really rather large and carry a ton of items, so it can be difficult to find just what you think you need; especially if you don't shop there often and are not extremely handy with diy projects. This was my first time painting and restoring ANYTHING! I was super nervous and had no idea what first steps to take, nor what tools I needed. If it was not for Lynda, I wouldn't of been so inspired, excited nor aware of how easy and fun such a project could be! It was a pleasure running into her each time I went back and to be honest, I looked for her! She was such a delight! Everyone here clearly knows they are the only Home Depot in the area because despite having ample employees-NO ONE HERE WANTS TO HELP ANYONE! I expect terrible service from a big box store, but my god this place hits new levels of apathy. Not a single person here gives a shit about any customer. I've never seen more people try to look busy talking to each other, ignoring customers or pretending to be busy. The worst part is most people that shop here are hourly employees and they are costing their employers money or if they are the boss, wasting a ton of time. They need to fire everyone and start over. read more

DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES HERE, YOU WILL BE SCREWED! I bought two washer and dryers about 6 years ago, and had an absolute nightmare! One of the appliances arrives completely damaged, as if someone kicked in the sides, scratches all over the top, and parts missing. When I called the store, I spoke with an associate who didn't care, and an employee laughing in the background, WOW! Years later, I decided to give them a second chance. When I arrived at the store just before 4:30pm, there was no one to help me, everyone had gone home. I spent over an hour on my phone finding the best dishwasher, reading the reviews. Dishwasher arrives days later, which the delivery crew telling me I am screwed because I forgot to "add" in removal (this is not haul away fee of $50), this is JUST to removed the old dishwasher. One of the delivery crew was shockingly RUDE to me, I had to ask him to leave and told him to just drop off the dishwasher in the garage, because I did not pay for the removal. Then, I learned I needed an air gap installed, which they DO NOT do, either. Later I called the store to speak to a manager, whom was very blunt and rude, nearly yelling at me and made me feel like I was an idiot because Home Depot is not responsible to customers for NOT knowing that CA law requires an air gap, and she told me I was supposed to KNOW this?! That night I cut up my Home Depot credit card. NEVER AGAIN AM I GIVING THEM MY BUSINESS. Been over a week and still no dishwasher, going to another store! Just unprofessional! After weeks of delay, and after we had to pay other people separately to take heavy furniture out of the way then put it back, as we were warned it would not be moved by the contractors, our living-room engineered-wood flooring, was installed, minus the flooring in two closets, which we were told were not included. Who pays for patchwork? Who, we asked, covers the floor of a living room, excepting one piece of it? Regardless of any paperwork, which we know stores can manipulate via small font words and exhausting legalese, what kind of professional submits dimensions for a room and leaves out closets on the same level, with doors that would show (when open) the discrepancy in the floor? HOME TOWN GO-TO: As Home Depot's go, this one is slightly better than average. However, I generally find that they have enough wandering associates nearby to ask questions when in need, which is always helpful. The store is clean, organized and has a great selection overall. The plant and gardening section has some very healthy, diverse plants, and gardening essentials, which always inspires me. They have a customer service kiosk up front for speedy returns, if needed. I wish they had more customer service agents who actually assisted with full checkout, as they have mainly self-check stations. I always prefer the one-on-one TLC of an actual person assisting me with checkout (versus self-check), and feel that supports human jobs in-general. I also wish their customer service agents in the "return" section were a little more jovial and customer-focused, as I have had more than one occasion where they seemed a bit abrupt. I do find that the general (wandering) associates are mostly kind, knowledgeable and attentive. There is plenty of space in the shopping aisles and this location has abundant, up-front parking, as well as a loading dock for large purchases. read more
