He said the problem was caused by overspray, and said the store would give our money back on the unused material. 5 stars for John, who was super friendly, made sense, was appreciative of our many years we have done business with his company. He restored our confidence in Sherwin Williams and we will surely keep buying product from them!

Since the brand was Benjamin Moore, I had to find a Benjamin Moore paint store in Santa Barbara -- which is how I came to SB Paint Depot, and BOY was I happy I did. Daniela was amazingly helpful. I was struggling with explaining my issue, because I had the very old paint can I had brought to my LA paint store. I could not understand why the color in the new can was so off. The LA Store had not noticed that my formula from my old can had been customized, even though I asked them to be sure to follow the formula. Thanks to Daniela's sharp observation stills, we figured out what had happened. Then I was finding it hard to decide on going with the full color formula or making it lighter. She helped me navigate that too! Daniela also helped me figure out how to go about making sure I'd be happy with the color. The list regarding all the ways she helped me goes on. She is the MVP of SB Paint Depot for sure!!! She also had my paint carried out to my car by Omar, who was also very nice. ALL THE WAY!

Moore, so far, I'm on the third coat and another will be needed. I suppose they got a better deal on the CRAPPY paint ... but, they sort of stuck it to old-time happy customers like me. There's a Benjamin Moore store in Ojai, and I guess that's where I'll be going. A business should never think ONLY of short-term profits. That said, I recently had a frustrating experience with a paint purchase. I bought 3 gallons of Cabot semi-solid stain in Oak Brown during a promotion--about $15 less per gallon than the other local paint supplier. I assumed the color would match the same brand and shade used during my 2023 remodel (leftover from my painter), but the result was quite different. Instead of a rich dark chocolate tone that matched my home's trim and fascia boards, the stain came out with lighter red-brown hues--more milk chocolate than expected. I brought the stain back to have it shaken again and asked the paint clerk for advice, but unfortunately the response was defensive and unhelpful. Lesson learned: when it comes to matching existing stain, go back to the original source and always do a test patch--especially for something as visible as a large deck. I'll continue shopping at this Ace for many things, but I'll be more cautious about stain and paint purchases in the future.
