Specialty Tool is an amazing place. They have absolutely everything when it comes to fasteners and specialty tools. I have come here so many times in the past year doing an old Mustang restoration. They always had the exact bolt, nut, washer, fitting, etc. I need, and shapes and sizes that were impossible to find anyplace else. The staff is friendly and will sit with you for as long as it takes to find the right part, or suggest an alternative. Staff is always helpful and they carry a lot of fasteners no one in SB does. Sure there's ARP or McMaster Carr but that would take some time to get the fasteners one might need. They also carry the full LPS line of lubricants on the shelf which are superior to other lubricants. There's a few crossover parts they carry that Buena Tool sells which makes it great not having to drive across town for one stop shopping and saving time waiting in traffic. Specialty Tool & Fastener has a great inventory, well stocked and depth of inventory. We're fortunate in SB to have a brick and mortar store like this in SBC and a knowledgeable staff. read more

There are not many places in the Santa Barbara county that you can walk in, tell them you need a special bolt, and actually get it. Typically the only way to do this is to get it from McMaster-Carr or fabricate it yourself. Don't bother, get it here. The staff are knowledgeable, and if they don't know, they know who to ask. I'd rather take a few more minutes and get the right part, then get the wrong part quickly. read more

A great place for odd fasteners that normal hardware stores don't carry. This place is also great if you need fasteners of an odd size or application in bulk, say a box of 1000. I've had to purchase odd thread pitch stainless fasteners for bikes, which home depot and channel city didn't have, and specialty had tons in stock. If you can't find it elsewhere, or don't want to deal with sorting through bins of crap, and walk to talk to people who know nuts and bolts, just go straight here. read more

They almost always have the odd nut, bolt or fastener I need. I just bring it in, they measure it and set you up with a replacement. Usually very inexpensive too - I have to remember to grab some dimes from the coin jar before I head over. read more

Upon arriving at this store I was overwhelmed with a virtual cornucopia of tools. The young man Jeremiah, who I now know to be the store manager was extremely helpful. As a still vibrant elderly gentleman I could not help it feel there was a deeper connection between us. Perhaps more so than just two men talking about what tool to use to pull something out of a hole. I must admmit I could not stop my hungry eyes from gazing in to his baby blues. Perhaps it was that intoxicating v-neck white shirt he was wearing that revealed his supple and well moisturized pecks. Even for the most discriminating eye it was BREATH TAKING!!! I bought what I need and upon my departure this young man thanked me and surprised me with the most warm and tender hug.
