It was a mini hurricane outside today so decided to venture into the Home Depot in Davie to find stuff that I really dont need but want. The shelves did seem organized and one young female employee gave me a warm greeting in an aisle. The Ring display offers alot of video and audio security and did a retail vs online price comparison. The Ring Battery Outdoor Plus camera was $199.99 and surprisingly the same price on Amazon but with tons of similar security camera options at lower pricing with free Prime shipping. Attempted to gain some information about the Ring device from an employee but he informed me that he does not expertise in technical products but could find someone who could assist - I thought that was odd but maybe the expertise of staff is isolated only to specific sectors. read more

Every month The Home Depot hosts a class for children where they can build a project themselves. It is always well organized, with friendly staff and great attention to detail. They set up numerous tables, and the classes fill up quickly. You sign up online and can stop by anytime between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. It is completely free for the kids. They provide regular sized tables as well as a few toddler sized tables. The staff supplies hammers and screwdrivers, and the kits include all of the materials needed to complete the project. They also provide paint supplies so the kids can decorate their finished projects. As an extra treat, each child receives a cookie and water. It is a great experience, and they host it every month with a different project. First time visitors receive an apron with the child's name on it, and a collectible pin is included with each project. It is fun to see the kids working on their creations and showing off the pins they have collected over time. Highly recommend! read more

On 12/29, I had an outstanding evening experience at the Home Depot in Davie, thanks to an incredible team of employees who truly went above and beyond to help me. I want to personally recognize Omar (Manager), along with Kaliyah, Raquel, and Darrell L. I came in needing a Milwaukee 1/2" Impact Driver to work on my wife's car. Online inventory showed five in stock, but none could be found on the floor or in any of the usual areas. Most places would shrug and send you on your way, but not this team. Omar and his staff immediately jumped in and treated my problem like it mattered. They spent over 30 minutes checking every possible department, stockroom location, inventory system entry, and even areas most customers never see. They communicated with each other the entire time, stayed positive, and never once made me feel like I was a burden or "just another customer." They were determined to make sure I got what I came for. Their teamwork, patience, professionalism, and genuine care for helping someone solve a real-life problem was impressive. This wasn't just customer service, it was real effort, and you don't see that often anymore. Because of this experience, the Davie Home Depot is now my go-to store. I stopped by this Home Depot on my way home Wednesday night, 10/15/2025, to buy a small item - a large bathroom sponge - that I had purchased there a few times previously. I figured this would be a quick visit, as I remembered approximately where the item was the last time. Nevertheless, I asked one of the employees in front where I should look, and she directed me appropriately. When I couldn't find it, I asked another employee, and he gave me more specific directions. But it wasn't there. I was a bit frustrated by the time I got to the third employee, a man named Daryl. But he un-frustrated me with his remarkably friendly, patient, personable demeanor. It turns out the item is no longer stocked, so that part of the experience was disappointing. But the employees that evening were consistently available, ready to help, and impressive, and I left feeling good about Home Depot simply because of the outstanding customer service. read more

I moved into a new place and needed some art for my walls...simple enough. I searched online and found these awesome handmade art pieces that had different colored strips of wood, all put together into a nice large piece - then I saw the price tag. $500. EFFF. THAT. With literally 0 crafty bones in my body I decided I'd make this my first DIY project. It took me a w few days to complete, but it was worth it....I finished the whole thing for about $150. That's a big difference. So first I needed the paint. I was looking to get 6 colors - black, white, dark grey, light grey, dark blue and baby blue. The staff here was super helpful. They walked me through all the gloss options and answered all my oddball questions. They mixed up the paints for me in no time and I was on to the next department. Wood. Now, the DIY guide I found said go look at the scrap wood section. I tried that. There was nothing. I decided to just get regular pieces of wood - and cut them down to size....adding a more uniform look than the original (since they are usually made with scraps of all shapes and sizes). Hand saw. No thought here. I got a medium priced hand saw fro some simple sawing. Glue. I couldn't find it, so I finally swallowed my pride and asked someone where it was. It took 2 seconds to locate - should have asked sooner. Once again, super friendly staff. Easy parking. This locations is right off University with a ton of other stores in the same shopping center. Home Depot is at the end of the lot, so their parking seems to be less packed than the middle, where people park to visit multiple stores. Overall these guys helped me add a pretty cool piece of art to my wall - for a fraction of the price it cost online. They were friendly, helpful and the store was well organized/clean. We've all been to Home Depot and know what you'll find there....it's the obvious place to go if you're a small contractor, doing some remodeling, or just sprucing up your yard. This location is by a really busy intersection & in a really busy shopping center in Davie. Getting in and out can be a headache....especially at 4-6 in the afternoons & on weekends! In addition to the huge supplies of lumber, paint, building materials, and the garden center; they have some nice furniture & grills for outdoor entertaining and a pretty extensive area with holiday decor. (Current holiday approaching when I was there was Halloween and they had lots of cool decorations. Many of them were animated with lights, sound, & movement too! Very reasonably priced.). On our recent visit we were looking for a grill. My husband knew which one he wanted because he had researched them ahead of time. The problems were that even though they had about 10 of them assembled on the showroom floor, we needed one still in a box so that we could fit it into the back of our hatchback car. We went to the service desk & asked if they had the grill we wanted in a box, and the girl at the computer confirmed they did. We then waited, and waited, and waited for someone to respond to our request, locate a grill, and get it down for us. We waited for about 30 minutes; meanwhile people kept coming up offering to help us, and when we said we were waiting for someone to locate/get us a grill they were like "ok" and then left. We finally got our grill & are happy with it. We will continue to get our home needs filled by Home Depot because there aren't a lot of other options around; but for a company that touts its customer service; this location could stand for a little "home improvement!" read more

The short and simple story is I accompanied my friend and had to ensure he didn't buy out the entire store. That and we needed a plug to cover an extension cord. Last thing we needed was for someone to get electrocuted when using a chainsaw. Bought a plug for around $6. Not too shabby; it got the job done. Went home, put it on the extension cord, and my friend along with another friend, plus my boyfriend, had some sort of male camaraderie going on while going crazy chopping trees. Um, yay yardwork? Thanks guys, by the way; you are the best! Anyhow, we were in and out. This location is itsy-bitsy spider like. Ordered a double impact door on May 24, 2022. Finally installed 8/5/2022 but the door was bent. Had to get another door ordered after I paid so that the warranty would be in effect. Several calls made for updates; no returned phone calls. Totally frustrated. Finally got a call in mid-september with a date of October 25, 2022 for installing of the new door. No one has been here; left messages - no return call. It is now 2:00pm and I do not know what the status is. Spent a lot of money - do not use home depot for installations or renovation. This location of Home Depot seems to have a better selection of plants than most. I always buy geraniums here when they are in season. There is something about the Red and white geraniums for Fourth of July that reminds me of Home. I bought my new flag here as well. It's the perfect size for the pole on the side of my house. I explain to her that the price came up wrong and she told me that I had to walk back with my full cart and take a picture of the price. I wish I could get zero stars. What a nightmare experience buying appliances from Home Depot. Bought ALL the appliances (fridge, dishwasher, double oven, cooktop, microwave, washer and dryer = $$$) got a great deal though, were told all would be delivered a week after purchase except for the oven and cooktop, which were on backorder and that was fine with us. Delivery truck shows up about 4 hours before they were scheduled. Installer comes inside and tells us all of our existing connections/lines were bad and they couldn't install anything. No one at the store told us that might happen, so instead they sent the full truck to our house for no reason. Driver said he could leave all the appliances in our garage but we would lose all the warranty if we installed ourselves - (we later found out that was completely false information) so of course we declined and the truck left with all of our stuff. A plumber was scheduled to fix said connections. Plumbers came, dragged mud through the house and made a mess everywhere. Broke the dishwasher hose, never reconnected our current washer and dryer or waterline to the fridge. This was the Monday before Thanksgiving and we begged to have the appliances delivered on Wednesday but were told 'no can do' So we were left without a dishwasher hosting Thanksgiving for a bunch of people. New delivery was scheduled for Saturday. Friday we received a call with our delivery window of 12pm-4pm. Saturday morning at 6.45am the driver called and left a voicemail without a callback number. We didn't realize we had the voicemail until hours later. The truck ended up being at our house at 9.30 am. No one was home and they didn't call us or the store, we weren't far away and could have been back at the house receiving the delivery within minutes. My husband then went to the store because he couldn't reach anyone on the phone. There, several people, including the store manager, tried to reach the delivery truck. It took them 1.5 hours to get the driver on the phone who said he would not turn back. Somehow someone convinced him to swing back to our house, but oh by the way, the dishwasher got damaged during transport and would not be delivered. Also, the warehouse never loaded the washer or dryer. So the truck showed up with just the fridge and the microwave. They told us there was nothing they could do about the washer/dryer. Meanwhile at the store my husband is now told the dishwasher was out of stock until January! After much debate, he was able to let them sell him the floor model, which we would get at a discounted price we were told. Another hour later, the store manager informed him no further discount could be given because we got such a good deal when we bought our appliances. So we bought the floor model at full price. We now still have to wait for original dishwasher to be back in stock and reject the delivery so we get our money back, apparently that's the only way, but who knows when that will happen. So right now we basically own 2 dishwashers. We are now eagerly waiting to see if we will get our washer and dryer delivered in 5 days. Home Depot tells us they've had many complaints about the contracter they use to deliver and install appliances, "Pro Referral" and that they would no longer use them in the new year - but that doesn't help us now! If you get a lot of complaints about them, get rid of them a year earlier!!! Of course we were told to call the complaint department at Home Depot, which we did after the mess the plumbers made, we are still waiting for a call back 5 days later. Needless to say we will never buy a single appliance at Home Depot again, but the one positive thing I can say is that all the employees in the appliance department were extremely nice and were doing their absolut best to help us, unfortunately their hands were tied since we were all dealing with the contractor from hell. read more

I have not lost my mind. Yes, this is the same chain that notoriously understaffs its locations. But this store has the BEST employees. Here's why: Yesterday hubby and I bought outlet plates. We used the self-check out machines. I took $40 cash back. Well, I asked for $40 cash back but in talking with hubby while checking out, I left the money in the machine. I didn't realize it until today when I didn't see the money in my wallet. I called the store and asked if anyone honest happened to turn in cold, hard cash. I felt like a fool for forgetting the money in the machine but figured I had nothing to lose in asking if anyone turned in the money. I had my receipt and read the numbers to them so they knew which register I used. They told me they'd call me back. Within 5 minutes they called me. ONE OF THE CASHIERS TURNED IN THE MONEY! I kid you not! They didn't have a name but an employee saw the money and gave it to the bookkeeping area. I went to the store today and got my money back. OMG - there ARE good people in this world! More than that, there are GREAT employees at Home Depot. I asked the manager to thank everyone when they have their next employee meeting because that is stellar customer service. We've made large purchases at this store - an SUV-full of pavers, cans of concrete stain, countless bathroom and garden items, etc. And you know I'll go out of my way to give this store more business in the future. I had to wait about 6 minutes until I finally asked someone for help. I think this rediculous since their commercials boast about customer service. On a special note, the self service check out counters always seem to work, the coke in the coolers is exceptionally cold, and it seems to be common practice to grab on when you walk in, and pay for it after you drink it.
