In the second area he lingered a few feet behind me for a long time after I found the area I needed: which I noticed, thought was strange, and I got the sense that he was trying to be intimidating. Then another costumer needed help finding something so he walked a away for less than a minute. Then he returned & continued eyeballing me. Very obvious and intrusive. After I found what I needed I walked to the front, and when I passed him I said; "You watching me like a hawk?" His reply was "yeah". I've been followed around in stores before, and I really don't like being profiled. But he admitted what he was he was doing which is accusing someone of being a thief by de facto. I'm not a thief, and have never stolen from a business. I voiced my protest to the guy at the front of the store. I really don't like leaving reviews that are negative because it affects everyone there. But when there's a employee who acts like that I'm sure the business owner would want to be aware. I'm almost 50, have never stolen from a business, and really don't like being treated like that.

The sales associate at Target mentioned that most brands don't make them anymore and suggested I try Walmart next door. At Walmart, it wasn't easy to browse since most of the men's razors were on the upper shelves, and I use a wheelchair. Fortunately, I met a very kind employee named Irial who was stocking shelves. She listened carefully when I explained what I needed and took the time to help -- lifting down one box after another until we finally found exactly what I was looking for: a Remington R3 razor with a sliding on/off switch. I can't say enough about Irial's patience and kindness. She went above and beyond to make sure I could find the right product. I truly hope Walmart recognizes employees like her and continues hiring helpful, compassionate staff

She directed me inside, so I stood in line at the check-out but the cashier didn't know how to help me. Meanwhile, the young woman from outside entered the store and met with two other co-workers behind the counter where I was standing. They were conferring about break times and clearly couldn't be bothered. Finally, one of the young women blurted out a cursory list of requirements but offered no advice as to where to bring the paint, etc. It was really disheartening to be treated in this manner. I hope management is aware.

(It's close to the I-95 exit, not in downtown Biddeford.) The store's selection of fine art supplies is superb. The staff are tremendously helpful. (Yes, the store can be a little understaffed at times, but if you ask for help at the front register, someone will help you immediately. And they'll go FAR out of their way to help you find exactly what you need, answer questions, share honest opinions, and so on.) While we're staying around York (Maine), we choose the Biddeford store every time. (When we don't, we regret it.) Michael's has become one of the few remaining chain stores carrying a wide range of arts and crafts supplies, including fabrics. That's frustrating, since each store can stock a limited range of products within each niche. However, if you're around southeast Maine - or even in coastal NH - the Biddeford store is the place to shop, especially for fine art supplies. The range of them is impressive, and their sale prices (frequently offered) are unbeatable. Definitely recommended!

I found one and she dropped what she was working on and let me on, what I thought was a scavenger hunt. She knew exactly where to go and I followed like a lost puppy and In a short time we arrived in the correct location. They were out and she suggested I order online. Now, my visit could have simply ended there, however sensing my disappointment, she suggested an alternative. Perhaps they have something that I could use in the Cricut aisle and off we went again. She immediately identified the Cricut "chalk board" vinyl and I was delighted. You know the saying, "A happy wife, a happy life." With this in mind, why only four stars you ask? Well, their regular prices are a bit on the high end, unless you catch a sale or are lucky enough to have a coupon. For customer service I am giving Michael's lots of kudos, so the next time you find yourself at Michael's, don't hesitate to ask for help. Enjoy!

It's the perfect time of year to visit here with Maine finally getting warmer and nicer weather. If you are looking for any plant this is the place to visit! From the smallest options including Bonsai trees and succulents all the way up to trees and more. They had many members of staff who were putting more plants out but all willing to help with any customers who needed it. I thought prices were reasonable for what they were. Some were high but it was for large or non common things. Besides the plants they also have an indoor shop with bird feeders, feed, books, and more. There are thousands of hydraulic fittings, taps and dies, tools, etc. It's endless. This is sort of like an old fashioned hardware store with endless little bins and a guy who knows everything, but on a Home Depot scale. There's stuff inside that probably hasn't been made in 20 years and much of it is gigantic, as you'd expect from their name, Industrial Hardware. In 2015 I was searching for a natural gas baseboard heater for my kitchen. There had been one there…read morewhen I bought it, but a master plumber friend told me it was unsafe because it had a live flame (it was also visibly old and worn and I wondered what other hazards were lurking); he properly removed it for me - this is a task that requires a person to have a professional gas fitter's license. The long dimension of my kitchen faces primarily north, with only narrow western and eastern exposures. I bought an electric baseboard to replace the original natural gas heater but when the winter was seriously cold, it wasn't sufficient to keep the room warm. I'd gone to the big box stores, but they only carried electric baseboard heaters. I'd checked plumbing and heating supply stores and websites for natural gas heaters but could only find tallish, rectangular ones; because of the room's configuration, I needed a baseboard heater. One day I remembered that Dan Walker of Downeast Appliance, who had come to my house to repair some appliances, had looked at my ceiling mounted furnace and told me that Grainger's carried them (I'd been told that they were no longer being manufactured). On a whim, I drove to Grainger's to ask if they carried a natural gas baseboard heater. At the time I thought that they only sold "to the trade" but hoped they would direct me to someone who could sell me this item. I was pleased to be wrong - they do sell to the public. A very pleasant fellow named Kevin ably assisted me and found two models, both by the same manufacturer - Cozy. I was delighted to find out that they were made in the USA. One was too long - six feet, and the other just right - four feet. Cost $1,030 - Kevin said "ow" for me. It turned out that they were being discontinued with only eight in stock, and one in the building. Kevin reserved the one in the building for me. He told me that they reserve for eight days, cash and carry, and that they accept cash, credit or debit cards, no personal checks. He printed materials for me and indicated that I could access them online too. The whole process was very quick, only about 15 minutes. At home I reviewed the materials which stated that the combustion chamber was sealed, alleviating my primary safety concern. A few days later I picked up the heater. A different sales associate wheeled it out to my car for me, chatting sociably all the while, and got the boxed heater safely settled there for transport. I took it home and arranged to have it installed. Now my kitchen is warm and usable during the bitter winter periods; before it was not unless I was baking or roasting something in the oven. The people at Grainger's were friendly, effective, and professional. They carry something like 1.5 million products.
