I purchased a Honda HRN 216 lawn mower in August, 2024. I went to Home Depot to buy a Dewalt mower, but the sales person upsold me to a Honda for $582. I used it twice, then in October, 2024 is started surging and stalling. Mowing season was over, so I stored it in my shed for the winter. This spring, I used it once to cut my front grass and it was still surging and stalling. I managed to finish cutting my front grass, but now it won't start - it has no compression. After doing some research, I found out that Honda has a recall on this model mower and Home Depot knowingly sold me a defective lawn mower. Honda has stopped making consumer mowers in the United States and the recall affects hundreds of thousands of this model due to defects in design and parts quality. Since the mower is essentially brand new, I called the local Home Depot (store #4105) and spoke to someone who claims they were a manager. After explaining the situation, she told me to bring it to the store and they will over-ride the 30 day policy and either refund the price or I can use it as store credit for another mower. I told her I wanted a different mower. She agreed to take it back. The next day, I took the mower to the store and a man claiming he was the manager restated the 30 day policy and refused to take it back. He was rude and evidently the woman I talked to had the day off and he told me to take it to a Honda dealer to be fixed under warranty/recall. The lawn mower is junk and has been nothing but problems. The surging is a design flaw of the carburetor and auto-choke mechanism. The surging issue is so common that there is hundreds of videos on YouTube discussing the problem and how to temporarily fix it. Who wants to take apart the carb every other week to clean the jets? The blades have very low suction and you have to go over the same grass a few times since it fails to lift the grass to cut making the bagger almost useless. The self propelled thumb control hurts your thumb after a few minutes of use. And now, after the surging issue started, it has no compression. It's a $582 paperweight. I called Home Depot support and they were not helpful at all. They are willing to lose a customer for life over selling me a lawn mower they knew was defective and under recall. I called my local Honda repair shop and he said he worked on hundreds of HRN 216 type lawn mowers for the exact problems I'm having. He also claimed the surging issue is NOT covered under warranty and the loss of compression could be refused to be covered under warranty too. So, now I'm stuck with a $582 paperweight and tall grass. After being a loyal Home Depot customer for decades I will no longer buy anything from them. I also plan to sue Honda in small claims court to get my money back. DON'T BUY THIS LAWN MOWER. Well, now you can't anyway since Honda no longer makes it. Also, you have 30 days to return a gas mower - not enough time to evaluate it for issues. And, if you have a problem after 30 days, Home Depot will NOT stand behind the products they sell and neither will Honda - unless you sue them in small claims court. read more

Not gonna lie, I used to go to Lowes all the time because it a little closer to home. I always received very mediocre service from Lowes so I decided to come here to do some shopping. Very surprised how nice everyone was and the gals at the entryway greeted me when I walked in and were very sweet. Everyone was very helpful and guided me everywhere that I needed to go to pick up what I needed. Plenty of parking and if you're buying mulch, you can also pay for the bags inside and take the recipe outside where some employees will even load them into your vehicle for you. I've since started shopping at Home Depot instead of Lowes. Service goes a long way... Maybe Home Depot has a little more staff than Lowes does perhaps. Other than that, it's just your regular run of the mill Home Depot. This might also be a slightly smaller one but always seem to have everything that I needed. read more

I went in for what I thought would be a quick straight-forward shopping trip. I only needed one item and went in during my lunch break. I had the item on my phone on their website which stated their were 41 items in stock and had the photo, item number, upc.. I showed 4 differed employees who told me 4 different things - 3 different locations and one stated it wasn't a product in stock. 2 out of the 4 employees were very friendly. But it was very frustrating going to 3 different locations, one on the opposite end of the store. And then coming up empty handed and having to track down another employee. I ended up having to leave with nothing since my lunch was almost over. read more

Whoever the young guy was in lumber. Rude...I'm redoing my basement and I need to get 200 pieces of 2x4x8. I asked him if he can get the other stuff down from up top because all of it on the bottom was warped, bent, or cut with a whole side missing. Absolute worst sales people and customer service in the business. We initially bought a washer and dryer from them and after explaining that we live in an older house with narrow basement access we were told that our dimensions would not be a problem. Of course when it comes time for delivery, the two fine "upstanding gentlemen" would not even take the appliances off the truck when they saw where we needed them to go as they were not going to "break their back" going into such a "f#$@!*^ small area". We immediately go back to the store to question the same sales people as to what we were allowed to buy since what we picked last time was apparently "undeliverable". They go into some song and dance that the company they use for deliveries is a third party outfit and that Home Depot is not responsible for their employees' actions or language or anything else. So pretty much they just say whatever they want as the sales people without any regard for whether or not the item(s) you buy are deliverable or not. Nice. Well, after about three phone calls to the store to speak with the store manager who was magically never available and eventually initiating a chargeback via our CC we were finally given a refund and then proceeded to buy the same units from Lowe's without any drama. read more

Our truck broke down in the Home Depot parking lot. We are sitting here waiting for a jumpstart watching Home Depot workers loading mulch. There are four workers actually helping people and going out of their way to help other customers and cleaning up as they load cars. I need to comment on these young guys great work ethics and customer service!! It's refreshing!! FYI, you don't see or get that at Lowe's. I'm definitely going to become a Home Depot customer from now on! read more

I purchased a snow blower from home depot which they assembled and delivered to my home. Shortly after it snowed and when I used it it seemed to work fine until I had to go in reverse. It wouldn't shift into reverse. It had 2 reverse speeds and if I tried I could force the shift to the 1st position but it felt like the cable would snap. Forget about 2nd...no way. They screwed up the cable tension (it's a bit more complicated than that) and reverse was of no use to me. My driveway is on a steep hill and I have slipped and fallen on my butt many times shoveling which is why I bought this. I called home depot and spoke with someone who basically told me it's not their problem that it is considered "an adjustment" and is up to the customer to fix. What? You put this together and it has never been used until now, and it doesn't work, how is that my responsibility. Their only response was "not our problem try calling your local Home Depot and see if they will help. I called them several times speaking with multiple people and also sent emails to anyone I can but all with the same results. The closest I came to anything was the store manager finally agreeing to "look at it" if I brought it in. If I bought it in? So how does that work? I'm a 65 year old man. Do I just pick it up and throw it in the trunk of my car? Well....I'm not sure how many hundred of pounds this thing weighs....and it's too big for the trunk...maybe the back seat? (joke). "YOU put it together and did it wrong. Come here and fix it." I have fallen a few times slipping in my driveway trying to pull this huge machine backwards. I usually find the one off things I need here. They have helpful staff, and the store is kept in good repair. The parking lot is a bit dangerous, again not store issue but the people who drive 30+ mph in a retail location. As far as the prices and selection they compare well to other similar companies in the area. read more

So tired of this location. Every single time I go there, it appears if there's another display added to the main walkway and aisles. It's gotten so bad that only one person can walk down "the path" at a time. Is corporate greed at a whole new level? I think so. The other reason for the 1 star rating is the self check out lanes. I CANNOT stand how they have 1 employee checking out with 8 people in line. Then you look at the self check out and there's 3 employees talking to each other doing absolutely NOTHING. Another pet peeve of mine is the lack of basic construction or material knowledge. When Home Depot first opened, they hired old men that worked construction, ex plumbers, ex electricians, people that knew what the hell they were talking about! Now it's a store full of dummys and god forbid you ask a question to an employee when they are out of their department... it's like you interrupted their sleep. Something has gotta be done about these issues, it's getting out of control. read more

Must read. Worst experience of my life. I will never buy another appliance from this Home Depot EVER. To sum everything up We ordered a new microwave and dishwasher Black Friday. It was supposed to be delivered Tuesday dec 12 between 11a-4p well by 5p there was a no call no show so my husband called to see where they were and got a response that the truck broke down and they would be at our house within and hour or so. Which was no big deal. However, no one came that night or called. Wednesday I called Home Depot and asked what was going on. They looked into it and said the delivery company told them they called us and I said my floor was uneven and they couldn't deliver it until the 21st. Which was a lie my floor is perfectly level where there were already appliances and they weren't even installing our appliances. Therefore, after arguing they moved our delivery to the 16th of Dec and I was told we would get $75 off our bill once everything was delivered. Keep in mind we spent around $1000 and I had to argue to get $75 off because I kept getting the excuse that it wasn't Home Depots fault that it was the delivery company. I had to explain that wasn't my problem Home Depot hires that company not me and I paid Home Depot. Saturday Dec 16th came and we got a call that our dishwasher was damaged and they couldn't deliver either item until the 26th of December. At this point I called Home Depot to cancel my order. They offered to get us the microwave separate so I asked if we would get the $75 off yet. And the woman Sonya I've been talking to each time I called Home Depot said "who said that?" which I said she did and she proceeded to tell me I was lying so I told her then to return it all. Got off the phone with her and she called my husband and said she did say we would get $75 off our order and wanted to know if we would keep it at this point he said no and we were told that we would be reimbursed within 48-72 hrs. Come December 22nd we still were not reimbursed so I called again and they said they wouldn't reimburse us until the appliances were returned in which we never received. Finally on the 25th I got the money back I was owed. Again I will never do business with this Home Depot again. I went to sears got my appliances in less than a week and I will be going back for the range as well there. Worst buying experience ever. read more

I see lots of poor reviews for this Home Depot.I have found their staff helpful and knowledgeable.The paint dept. pro (a shorter lady forgot her name-it was a year ago)helped me with a perfect match for my kitchen walls.It tied into our granite color and cabinets. Last night a young man from hardware helped me with flooring, because the flooring person was tied up with another customer.Remy was knowledgeable,helpful and friendly.How refreshing to have a young person eagerly assist a person who could be his grandmother. I frequent both Lowe's and Home Depot and run into the same problems, at each store-finding someone to help at various times. Kudos to Remy. read more

If anyone out there need help with refinishing old furniture or antiques, go talk to Joe Paint in the paint department. I was ready to give up on a vanity I was trying to refinish for my daughter. It was her grandmother's who has passed. He is so knowledgeable and knows all these tricks to hide imperfections. He can tell you exactly what to do without spending a lot of money. I can't speak highly enough about him. Home Depot should market and utilize him better. I feel very fortunate to have found him. My vanity that I was going to get rid of came out beautiful. Absolutely terrible management and customer service!! The employees lack knowledge in the department assigned. Extremely difficult to even find staff to assist in the departments ...that's even if you find ANY staff at all!!! Two hours into shopping I was finally done an I go to pay only to find there credit card system has been having issues ALL day, well that's fine, not the cashiers fault BUT she had me swipe my card 3 separate times an push a button in which she stated would show an authorization number an would let the transaction go through..well that didn't work, I asked to speak to the manager who was absolutely no help at all(looked lost) and told him I've been shopping for TWO hours have two carts of merchandise an the cashier had me swipe my card three separate times knowing the machine was down! His response "can you pay with cash?", I would call your bank and make sure it didn't go though" " I can hold the items" .. What?! I told him that wasn't a good enough solution !! I was so frustrated I just left .. Take my advice.. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!Your better off going to Lowes!! read more

I had an apt scheduled at Home Depot to discuss counter tops and backsplash. I arrived 15 minutes early so I could look around and possibly get a handle on what I liked so I could be more prepared when it came time to sit down with the associate. Well the person I was scheduled to speak with was already with clients, so I thought ok things happen and time gets away from us. My apt was for 4:45pm about 5:05 the person I was scheduled with did not even acknowledge that I was there pacing around. Another associate tried helping me, but all the while just looking at her watch saying " I have to go soon " making me feel very awkward and rushed. So finally the person that had to leave left. So now I am standing there once again while no one acknowledged that I was there. I found this experience to be very unprofessional, a huge waste of my time and gas driving there. I would have felt completely different had Joanne acknowledged me for just a few seconds to explain what was happening. Home depot you have just lost your self a customer. This is not the first time I have walked out of this store leaving my cart full of purchases behind. Unfriendly and unhelpful employees are the reason. I would prefer to go to Lowes anyway but Home Depot takes PayPal which I like to use as a form of payment. I usually buy from Home Depot online to avoid the terrible service and attitude of these employees. I wanted to have blinds cut to size for me but everyone was too busy or just ignored me. Okay I don't mind waiting but the surly attitude was all I could take. Do these people even know how to smile or make eye contact? They Actually looked away from me when it was obvious that I needed help. Well I guess they don't need this woman's money. The men working here are not nearly as bad as the women. They act as though you know nothing when you ask them a question. Honey, I know how to paint, wallpaper, refinish furniture, do light electric and plumbing and use power tools but sorry I am also blonde and pretty so that means you treat me like crap.
