I am from Indiana and was visiting my daughter. I purchased 10 bags of mulch for her garden. The employee loading the mulch in the bed of my 2023 toyota tacoma, let the nursery cart run into my truck and damaged the Left rear fender to the truck bed. scratches from orange cart, and chipping where the wind flipped the cart around against the truck. 2 Estimates came to $500. In MO, and in my home state. Home Depot uses Sedgwick Casualty insurance. Sent an online form to my phone which required the managers name, the employer name, and the Sedgwick Home Depot contract number. The HD refused to give me any of that info. claimed they did not know when I spoke to one of the managers. Their insurance is $200 below the 2 estimates. Leaving me with the out of pocket expense. THEY ARE CHEATING ME BECAUSE THEY KNOW I AM FROM OUT OF STATE, AND ATTORNEY FEES WOULD NOT BE FEASIBLE ASTRONOMICAL FOR THEM SCAMMING ME. So disappointed. I ordered nearly $2,000 worth of chain link fence, poles and everything that goes with it. Everything was delivered except the poles and gate. Although I received confirmation of the delivery, they followed up the next day with an e-mail saying the order was delivery was delayed. I had to cancel my installers and equipment rental. Homedepot outsourced the delivery to FedEx who could not deliver until the middle of the week. I called the store and the manager told me that he couldn't do anything about it Even though the missing items were in stock at that store. I called 1-800-Home Depot and they could not do anything to help either. I'm just stuck. And now I have to cancel and reschedule. never again. These people have to understand that I could have gone to Lowe's, Menards, Sutherland, Tractor Supply, or a speciality chain link supplier. I chose HD and am regretting it. read more

Needed to have a couple of pieces of wood cut to length, so ventured back to see if there were any employees who could operate the saw. Found an older lady and an older gentleman with a long beard and long hair standing by a forklift having a personal conversation about some past scratch or scab on his arm that the lady was intent on examining. When there was a break in their discussion, I asked if I could ask a question. No response or acknowledgement of any kind. They went back to discussing his arm for a good three or four minutes before the older lady turned and looked at me with a bit of an eye roll and responded with irritation in her voice "So what's your question?" Oh, so you DID hear me, you just chose to ignore me to continue a personal conversation instead of taking care of a customer? Didn't say that out loud to her, but that was what went through my mind. Just asked my question if someone was available to cut a couple of pieces of lumber for me. The gentleman with the beard replied he could "in a little while" as he hopped on the forklift. Said he had to load this pallet of drywall first. Fifteen minutes later, he did come back and make the cuts I needed. We then headed to check out. Of course, like every where else now, it was all self check out with three employees standing around observing everyone ringing up their purchases. (You can't hire cashiers, but you can have three people stand around in case someone needs help ringing up their purchases. Anyone else want to explain to me this philosophy, because I'm at a loss to understand the logic?} I needed help with my veteran's discount, so I tried to get the attention of an older gentleman who was obviously one of the self-check monitors, but couldn't ever get him to acknowledge me, despite the fact he was standing by himself and talking to no one. So I got the attention of a young lady employee, who immediately came over to help. She said she could help me, but she never could figure out how to get through the menu to the place where the veteran's discount could be issued. (There is a place; I've watched someone at a different Home Depot do it.) She called for a manager on her radio twice for help, but no one ever showed up. So she started manually giving me a 10% discount item by item. She did it on two of the 12 items I purchased, then quit and said she wasn't allowed to give discount on every item. Then she turned and walked off. Since that whole process took upwards of fifteen minutes, I just paid and left. Went to my regular Home Depot in Olathe and told them this story in passing as I was talking with one of the regulars I know through my frequent trips there. He told me to definitely write a review about this because corporate watches the reviews and don't tolerate that kind of service. I come here all the time...But I am so so so so sick of seeing stores allow customers to bring dogs in the store...This was not PetCo or Petsmart. I have a allergic reaction to dogs and this could cause a problem. So people leave your dogs at home, car and etc but not the store. read more

This is the worst Home Depot EVER!!! First I went in to make a return as we over bought railings for a deck we were building and I told the lady I needed to buy stuff online so store credit was fine. WELL APPARENTLY NOT. They changed the policy and store credit cannot be used online and it's apparently been years since this. Would have been nice to know as I told the lady that's what I was doing and she's like oh no problem! When she did the return she spelt my name wrong too and she was looking at my ID so now for me to use it they have to extra verify. I called the 1-800 number to see if anything can be done as what I'm needing is only sold online and I have $150 worth of store credit and they told me I can call the store and have them place the order to use my credit. Also stupid but okay. I call during business hours and the phone range for 15 minutes STRAIGHT and NO ONE ANSWERED!!! I let it ring until I couldn't take it anymore to see how long! HOW RIDICULOUS. What a terrible store. Home Depot needs to do better. I will now shop at Menards and lowes before here ever again. And we do a lot of flips and builds and used to go here often. i bought 4 gift cards on 11/8/21 2 for 200$ and 2 for 150$ belton my daughter went to use them at the blue springs mo store on 11/26/21 the 200$ went fine but when the associate went to use these they said they had already been used. my daughter had the gift card in her hand and the number on the back that you need to use the card was not rubbed off until the associate did it at the register. home depot said they had already been used on 11/16/21. how can that happen when the gift card had not been out of my daughter hands. many phone calls later to the managers at home depot. the cooperate office said they could not help us that the cards were like cash and they didn't do anything to help us and to fill a police report. please do not buy gift cards at homedepot someone is scamming people read more

Went to Home Depot in Belton this evening to buy 16 more bags of mulch. The young kid in the garden area was very decidedly NOT friendly. We asked for some help to get the mulch loaded in to the van. Pretty sad when a 48 yr old, out of shape woman can get all 16 bags loaded before even 1 person showed up to assist. Shame on you Home Depot. read more

Well first, I used to work for Home Depot in Topeka, KS. Loved it with all my heart, but the Home Depot here is a complete joke. I applied here and got hired and never got a call back to tell me when to start working. This was all after I got hired on and aced the interview with flying colors, haven't heard from them since. Then my wife went in for a woman's DIY Workshop with two other friends of hers and waited at least an hour and a half for the teacher to teach the class. No teacher, just rude management and all. My lady asked where's the teacher, management or whoever and they said after a long period of waiting,"the person teaching the class left for the day. " No apologies or nothing. Management also said "it is a free class" being a smart ass. They get no stars from me. Also you're supposed to be greeted or at least spoken to when you walk into Depot, NOPE! The day after Christmas 12-26-17 we bought a chainsaw for my son. The salesman at the Belton Home Depot suggested the Echo brand as it was the best he has used. Against my sons better judgment he purchased the saw. After waiting several weeks for it to warm up enough to use it, we finally got it out of the box to use it. We made 4 cuts, not even 10 minutes of use. Turned it off, but when we went to start it again, if would NOT run. Took back to the store on January 27th, was told that we could not return it because it was over the 30 day maximum time period....by ONE day. Was then told they would send it off to have it repaired but it could take 6-10 weeks. When explaining that it had only been used of less than 10 minutes before it quit working, we were told by service desk manager "we didn't make you buy this." Once again it just goes to prove to myself to NEVER- EVER do business with Home Depot. I don't know why I keep trying with them. Menards and Lowes are just down the street. read more

I'm use to my lowes and know where everything is at in the store. That being said, I was price. Comparing a new lawnmower and decided to go to home depot. I walked in on a meeting around that area and the store manager decided to make an example of me, on how they need to be more attentive to customers and pointed over to me, because I was reading the signs and differences on the different mowers. I really did not appreciate being called out and pointed at by the manager giving a store pep talk to 50 employees. I would have given it one star due to that. But the sales associate who did come up and talk to me, made up for it with his knowledge and spent 20 mins with me talking about each tractor they had. I am still deciding but if I buy, I'll make sure he is there when I do. read more

My wife and I needed a new water heater and we knew that Home Depot offered them with install also available. We picked out the one we wanted after a lot of research and ended up setting up the service to purchase and install. We were told by the associate at the store that someone would call us back to finalize the sale and set up the install. Hours went by and I never received a single phone call. My wife then went online and even tried going through the Home Depot website. She too was told that someone would call her back to finalize everything. To this day neither one of us has received a phone call from Home Depot. We ended up going to Lowe's the next afternoon and had the water heater purchased and installed within 24 hours. He had so much information and knowledge about the products he was selling us. We were so impressed. I have never had such a good experience at Home Depot in all the times of going into the store. This store always disappoints me when I go in. I have started driving over 25 minutes away to get better customer service. There are always a bunch of people working but never anyone to help.
