I'm so upset! My husband and I drove up from South San Francisco only to find that the store had just closed! If you will notice the picture it says that the store is opened for 51 minutes!!! The cashier did open the door and only smiled when I told her that we had just driven 5.5 hours to go to shop at Holly Yashi. She kept saying "I understand ". No she doesn't!! She didn't waste her time and $$ driving up to a store that was closed. She did say that they had just changed their social media...well you missed one. And to make it worse the store is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Shopping at Holly Yashi is just about the only thing to do in this town. Grrrrr! read more

The Holly Yashi Store - Store hours - Jewelry Near Me - Arcata, California

I mean, what can you say? It's the Holly Yashi Mothership, the font of creation, the place where their jewelry is actually created. In Arcata, of all places- who knew? Cute and inviting showroom, you can catch a peek into the studios out back, and there's plenty of signage to explain the timeline and milestones of the company. And hey, they're even willing to make you a capa while you shop! read more

I went to her store years ago. Everyone was so helpful as I was looking for some dark blue earrings. They had a huge selection to choose from. Back then prices were quite a bit less, but everything has gone up. Her jewelry is timeless and I still have many pieces from the early 90s read more

I'm very disappointed in their customer service. I was gifted a pair of hummingbird earrings from my son, and I put them on immediately. I was surprised to see there were no earring backs included with them, as they are very light. Within less than two hours, one of the earrings was lost. We looked everywhere, but couldn't find it. I contacted the company, hoping they would be willing to replace the missing earring. Their response was that earring backs are included with all earrings, and would I just like to buy another pair? They took no responsibility for a possible error. I am very disappointed in their lack of customer service and greed. read more

Love the store and seeing how the jewelry is created. Will definitely go back when we are back in town.

Such a local gem! There was a rumor going around that the store also is located in Paris!! Rest assured that it doesn't. I asked the owner myself and she laughed at the silly rumor. She is such a lovely lady. This store is named after her and her husband. Such a beautiful name when combined! In this store you can find local hand made goodies from their handmade jewelry, which they make at their workshop in site & also offer viewing tours for your viewing pleasure and plethora of options, to their vegan hand bags, clothing, baby items, children's toys, kitchen supplies, home goodies and aromatherapy for the home! This place has a little bit of everything! I love coming to shop here every Christmas because they go out of their way to hand wrap the gifts for free! read more

They've remodeled so it's a smaller store- they have pricey but beautiful artsy designs and that kind of jewelry and stuff with excellent quality and my mom loves going shopping here when she's visiting. read more

My grandma has jewelry Holly Yashi it's a really good quality jewelry. She has earrings and necklaces and she really is happy with them.

Love this store! Get cute earrings for birthdays and other holidays. I wish they would serve cappuccino before you purchase something so you can walk around the store and enjoy browsing while drinking cappuccino. read more

I bought the first pair of Holly Yoshi earrings for my wife in 1981. The were unique, handcrafted locally & affordable; each one being an art piece. We spent our 2019 late summer vacation in Humboldt County & stopped by the Holly Yashi factory store. The free tour (3/day) was informative & gave me a greater appreciation for their jewelry. Handcrafted in Arcata, CA where I attend college many years ago. I am impressed by their craftsmanship, production, design, & artwork. It is a definite must-see if you are in the area even if you only have a basic interest in metallurgy. read more

How have I been coming to Arcata for 27 years and have never been to this amazing store? Yes there is a huge billboard on hwy 101, but we found it by chance looking for another garden shop that was closed. As soon as my sister-in-law and I walked in and saw the Mecca before us I quickly turned to my husband and said, "Gonna be here awhile...text you later!" There is the custom jewelry they are famous for -- elegant art for wearing. Floral, Japanese and ornate. Also some simple silver and gold. Additionally the staff makes you feel like royalty from the get go-- complete with free Cappuccinos and British accents. Maybe that's why I ended up buying $80 worth of gifts for future bdays and such. Bowls, housewares, dog tags, hair ornaments, candles, soaps and much more! Displays are artistically designed, you can try on earrings or jewelry. It's elegant yet spacious and comfortable! Please don't miss this if in Arcata! A local gem. read more

Zero Rating. Bad and rude customer service by staff. They follow you around like you are going to steal something. I was going to spend about $100 but put it all back and left. Several years ago loved the store and have always spent a lot there but last 2 times we went there it was a terrible shopping experience. We will never go back. Do not recommend this location. read more

My wife is a fan of Holly Yashi earrings. She has been buying them for years at a store in Los Gatos. We have been coming to the Eureka/Arcata area for several years and until this trip were unaware that Holly Yashi jewelery is made in Arcata. We only found out when we saw some new billboards along highway 101 giving information about the store. Naturally, we had to visit the store. The store is adjacent to the factory where all the items are made. We visited the store on an Saturday; unfortunately the factory is only in operation on weekdays. At 11am on weekdays a factory tour is offered. Even though the factory was not in operation, someone gave us a demonstration of the way that niobium changes color when placed in salt water and electricity is passed through the water. The colors of Holly Yashi metals are intrinsic to the metal; they are not painted. They use niobium in their jewelry along with silver and gold. The niobium metal changes to various colors depending on the voltage that is applied to the salt water! There is a different color for each voltage. This is how they get the great colors in their jewelry. It was a great demonstration; part art and part science fair! The staff in the store is great. They provide personalized service helping with your selection, guiding you through the large collection of items, and also providing you a cappuccino to enjoy while you are shopping. For husbands like me, there is a couch on which to relax with newspapers and magazines to read while sipping your cappuccino, during the time your wife is shopping. We met Holly, who was a gracious host to her customers. read more

Best customer service I've experienced in a long time. The genuine friendliest of the the sales people was refreshing.

Quality, beauty of products- upscale stones and workmanship! Will def buy again! Earrings and bracelet sets are a kust

A+++ great as always, costumer service is the best, you can tell the staff loves what they do. Lots of beautiful artful jewelry, eye candy. So much more in the store for shopping, give yourself time to see it all. Highly recommend the tour. read more

I bought earrings a year ago for a friend and she said even prettier than the catalog! Ordering more for Christmas!

Beautiful designer jewelry. Wish we could have been there on a day when they were working, however you can view the design workshop area from the store. I did purchase a necklace that has a beautiful butterfly and glass beads, which I am thrilled about. Lots to choose from. read more

I was visiting a friend in Arcata last week when we came across The Holly Yashi Store. We were greeted by Kristin who truly made an average day, a great one. Kristin was so beautifully modeling a pair of vintage earrings and after so gracefully educating us on the pair we knew we couldn't leave without them, and ended up buying a couple pairs of earrings that day. ON TOP OF IT ALL, Kristin sent us on our way with free cappuccinos!! We will definitely be back. read more

Driving up the 101 you are sure to see a billboard for Holly Yashi. Their jewelry is truly unique, and I had wonderful time browsing through their selection. I settled on two pairs of earrings and a ring. I had a difficult time selecting, as everything was beautiful and eye-catching. They also have a variety of other trinkets such as journals, candles, etc. that are not related to Holly Yashi at all. I was there on Saturday, and I read that there are tours available on the weekdays. The customers service is wonderful. The young ladies offered my sister and me some cappuccinos and tea! When my sister was trying some rings on, her ring came off and two employees were kind enough to help us find the ring! Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and the customer services. The prices are a little steep, but I feel happy knowing I'm supporting a local business. I will be returning to the store when I'm in the area! read more

Pretty good place to buy some gifts for your significant other. (if you're a guy, that is.)

My daughters took me here many years ago for Mother's Day and to pick out some earrings. I love them and wear them often. One of them broke and lost a small stone. I took it back and they were able to fix them for a nominal fee. They meant a lot to me and while it would have been easy to pick another pair, they would not have had the sentimental value. Everyone who helped was kind, happy and helpful. Thank you so much for helping keep something that means so much to me. read more

Visited briefly during a trip in Humboldt County after Thanksgiving. Came looking for a gift and was a bit out of my element with jewelry. Staff were helpful, offered suggestions and cappuccino. Somehow ended up buying gifts for a few people including myself. They must have put something in the coffee. lol. Just kidding - worth a trip to see this beautiful store. read more

Great place for a reminder of the area. Beautiful craftsmanship on the jewelry that you don't seem to find anywhere else. I wanted to purchase everything! It took me a while to choose two sets of earrings to bring back home. Until our next visit, I'll look forward to maybe a bracelet. read more

I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of items available in the store. Amazing. So much to look at but it's all so pretty! Highly recommend the tour. I work in manufacturing so I geeked out on the process of it all but it was really interesting and I was blown away by the fact that there were so many long standing employees. Love that! And I'm not gonna lie, the 20% off just for taking the tour is brilliant. I used it! read more

This is a great place to get a gift for a female friend. I would recommend coming on a weekday at 11am for the free Guided Studio Tour. Be sure to bring your old Holly Yashi Jewelry so the store girls can clean it for you. read more

We made a special trip on our vacation to stay in Arcada just so I could go shopping there. Beautiful place and so much to see. A few suggestions, turn the heat down very warm in store, list things on sale in the store that are on sale on the website. I will be shopping on line again. read more

Since I live not far from Arcata, I've visited the Holly Yashi store about 10 times. Sometimes by myself, other times with friends, and I've even brought some out-of-town guests to see the store and to shop. A couple months ago my brother and his girlfriend were visiting from Finland and ended up buying several items to take back home. The store is well-organized and spacious, the displays are tasteful, and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The tea and cappuccinos they offer are a nice touch and very tasty. The product selection is huge and the factory is located under the same roof. They now offer tours to show how the jewelry is made; a very interesting process and an informative tour. Plus at the end they give you a coupon for 20% off any jewelry you purchase that day. Everyone ends up buying something! read more

Went to the store to buy three or four pairs of earrings as Christmas gifts and some stocking stuffers for my son. Was stalked by several employees so intensely that I left without buying anything. I may have olive skin but I also make six figures and they have lost my business for good. Only shop here if you enjoy being racially profiled. read more

Wow, I love this place. So many neat home decor things that Holly herself likes and her home is decorated with it. Plus, her handmade jewelry is so fabulous. I have bought many earrings as gifts, but this time, I bought myself a pair with Christmas GC They also serve cappucino while you shop. BUT, it is good coffee, but dang strong so watch it! I was really hyper...more so than normal, after consuming the strong cup of joe. Her earrings and necklaces are unique, one of a kind designs that are sure to please even the pickiest women!! I personally don't like it when people buy me earrings and stuff, I like to pick my own. So, good choice on the gift certificate. The only drawback in the store is the heater is turned up way too high and our weather in the North Coast has been like Hawaii lately...so they need to turn down the heat. I am glad she has her own store. It is big and has many things . Cool stuff for kids too. A great place. read more

A little out of the way but worth the effort to find this little store. I had expected to see Holly Yashi jewelry and a few other things but it was the other way around - great things and a bit of jewelry. This is a great place to find a unique gift for almost anyone you know. The offerings include fun, practical, and artsy items at reasonable prices. I saw many things I had never seen elsewhere. AND you can watch jewelry being made while you shop. read more

This is the best place in Arcata, or anywhere in the county to buy great gifts for any occasion. It's located at the factory so every conceivable design of their current jewelry line is available- plus they now carry some things only sold at the store. I don't think the prices are out of line for the quality of the merchandise. The staff is really cool, and doesn't pressure sales. Plus they offer free espresso or lattes every day. read more

I love shopping here and do so for all special occasions. Yesterday, I had the best service from one of the employees so I was compelled to write this review. Harmony was so completely helpful! She wrapped my items and made sure they looked perfect and THEN put a plastic liner over my bags because it was raining outside. So completely thoughtful!! - My mother was checking out at the other register and did not get the same treatment-. Harmony was gracious, patient and thoughtful, not to mention sweet and kind. It was closing time and I never felt rushed by her. Great selection of gifts and great service by Harmony!!! read more

I stumbled across the Holly Yashi store and instantly fell in love. There are so many beautiful items that I always walk away with gifts for the whole family (myself included). Every corner is worth perusing. The stuff is supper friendly and even made me a cappuccino to enjoy while I shopped. This is definitely a must visit spot anytime you are in Arcata. I guarenty you will not be disappointed. Oh yeah, their prices are very reasonable as well which is always a big plus in my book. read more

I have a holly yashi necklace that I love. Recently it broke and I got in touch with the store where I purchased it. It had been discontinued but she said she was sure the company would repair it if I sent it back to them. I called customer service and they said $25.00 to repair and some outrageous amount for shipping? It would cost more then the original necklace just to restring it!!!! I really expected better customer service from a small company like holly yashi. The lady on the phone all but said sorry about your luck. Left a bad taste in my mouth for the company :-( read more

I bought a pair of earrings - I think $32. They didn't come with backings. I tried my many different backings I have on hand, none fit. The first day I lost one of them. Wow, that sucks. They are crazy beautiful though and light on the ears if you have slightly torn piecing holes like mine. All that don't matter if you lose them. I'd almost wear the one, but I have to look professional at work, which is what I bought them for. read more

I bought a beautiful necklace at the Dallas Botanical Gardens gift shop. A coworker commented on how beautiful it was and how she wanted it! After purchasing the necklace, I did some research on the artist, went to the website, and looked at other pieces of jewelry. I now receive the catalog and am contemplating buying more jewelry. I like the artist's choice of glass colors, style, and semiprecious stones in the jewelry. I look forward to seeing more jewelry pieces in the future! Colorful, classy, and not too busy!! read more

I love their jewelry, and their shop is amazing. I had a necklace that needed repair (the clasp wouldn't hold) so I brought it in and they replaced the clasp at no cost. I love shopping there because they offer you cappuccino or tea while you browse, and they have so many wonderful things - not just jewelry, but handbags, scarves, kitchen linens, toys, tiaras, ornaments, books, headbands, candles, and many more things. On my last trip I bought Bigfoot Adoption Kits for my grandsons in Louisiana - they loved them. I also bought colored pencils that looked as if they were made from tree branches - also a hit! In the past I have purchased magic wands that whoosh when you wave them - another winner. For unique gifts this is the place to go, and you have a great time while you're shopping! read more
