I was here for the first time . It's a very huge shop and they have so many different items to choose from . Arts, paintings, jewelries, scarves, lights, candles, different handicrafts, handbags, etc , If you want to buy a gift for a family or friend , this is the place . The customer service is not good at all though. I went there on Thursday 10/19/2023 around 4:30 pm . The employees (2 women) don't even acknowledge your presence. I said hi , no one answered. I really enjoyed this cute little gallery and gift shop! It's nestled right in the heart of Old Town Square and offers a unique selection of handmade gifts and souvenirs. I always try to purchase a few unique souvenirs along with at least one refrigerator magnet when I'm traveling somewhere, and Many Hands had a great assortment of both. There is no photography allowed in the store to protect the privacy of the individual artists. They sell handcrafted jewelry, clothing, and artwork here. The store associate was extremely hospitable and very fun to chat with! We chatted about the Bay Area and the origin of many of the gifts in the shop. Most of the inventory is produced by local artists. I love supporting local businesses that also support their own local counterparts. We stopped in to checkout the local art. The man in the store was very helpful and wrapped up my children's gifts. There is pottery, jewelry, very cool lights and wind chimes, pretty textiles, etc. Plan to spend some time in their store. I would definitely return to see what new treasures I can find. Last year my brother took the plunge and remarried. It was at this turning point that he and I decided that we would meet annually, half way between the central Oregon Coast and the Bay Area. So last year was our first annual visit in Eureka. While strolling around downtown, we found the Many Hands Gallery, located across from the plaza. Although there were 5 of us with a dizzying array of tastes and desires, we all managed to find something to look at. My bro and his new bride enjoyed the jewelry, I was captivated by the "Dios de los Muertos" magnets and trinkets, Honey Bunny was lost in the nautical section and Theresia D. just floated all over. Like Anna L. said, there are similar types of shops in the bay area, but this one had it's on particular charm. And the prices were reasonable. You can find a nice gift or momento for $5. read more

Many Hands has been a lifelong favorite spot for gifts (though often for myself) from Humboldt and all around the world. I can remember picking up new rings here in my teenage years, then started stopping in more often over the years for home decor, jewelry and the best selection of umbrellas around. (They've spoiled me on umbrellas...) I still find new things to love every time I get to visit, especially the local art and jewelry selection. Just realized that even from a couple of states away during a "quarantine," I still have the option to shop online! I moved away from Humboldt a couple of years ago but I visit often and the most vulnerable members of my family still live there. Many Hands Gallery is a gem in the downtown area of Eureka. The store has a ton of local products, dishes made from wood, handmade jewelry, soy candles from a local work program, you name it. Even though I could find similar places like this in SF or around the bay area, I thought this place was cute and had lots of knick knacks for your paddy wacks. Not sure where that came from, but let's go with the flow.... Like Roger W stated in his review, there are lots of items of a spirituatl nature, which is sorta my cup of tea, so, I loved browsing around. The owner had local items which is a nice touch, especially when you want to make sure you are buying something unique if you are from out of town. There was a beautiful necklace pendant(?) of an elaborate tree formed from different pieces of of intriquite curved silver wires. It was gorgeous and I would have bought it if it wasn't $125 bucks! However, I do believe it was worth that much for the work that was put into it, but not in my budget at this time. boohoo. They had plenty more affordable pieces though. I ironically left with some local soy candles that smelled great. They had some fun/unique scents such as Monkey Farts (which was actually nice, believe it or not), Pear Berry, Old Fashioned Apple Pie, Orange Danish, Pineapple Mango, Desire, Rain Forest. I love soy candles because they usually smell much more fragrant than wax. OH, and the plus was that the candles were made by a company that supports disabled (or differently abled) workers! First discovered this little gem during a roadtrip up the CA coast. Beautiful pieces, unique artwork, and just a fantastic little experience. Bobby was extremely friendly, and I found a hand made mug that was absolutely gorgeous, and I've used every day since. Until... tragedy! My boyfriend dropped the lovely keepsake, and it shattered as only truly beautiful things can do. As I swept up the remains of my lovely mug, my boyfriend snuck outside and called the store, where Bobby was working again. She was helpful and sweet, and even sent pictures of the mugs she had so we could pick out the ones that looked most similar to the one that broke (they're all unique, as they're hand made). The new mugs arrived this morning, and they're so beautiful, it was almost worth breaking that first keepsake. Many thanks to both Bobby and the original pottery maker for their work and customer service. This place is not to be missed! read more

This is a find in historic Eureka if you are into handcrafted, artisan craftworks. There were many items there of a spiritual nature, wikka, Christian, etc with many of the usual burlwood, glasswork and turquoise you would expect to be there. Astra the manager was especially helpful in getting a delicate selection wrapped and boxed even though there was a street fair going on outside the store and there were plenty of customers. About a month ago my wife and I went into this store.We couldn't believe how the owner was talking to her customers. A women asked her about a piece of jewelry and she was so rude to this lady who did nothing but ask to see the item from the case. And this wasn't the first time last year she was rude to a women that the women just walked out not purchasing anything the owner ran outside screaming at her. This store had SO MUCH stuff I wanted, and in lots of good price ranges. I got some good cards and postcards, a really cool $12 beetle necklace, and a beautiful $40 mermaid stained glass window hang. I know the owner of this place,Phil, as he is my neighbor. This is such a great place, it's like an art gallery and gift shop in one. There are nick knacks but lots of nice things too. Very artsy and local crafts too. The prices are good for what they have to offer. It is located right across from the Gazebo in old town Eureka. It is well worth a visit if you are in the area. We love Many Hands. We've gotten many a Christmas and birthday present here, from Huichol beaded figurines to beautiful Kütahya ceramics from Turkey. Last Christmas we got everyone a Turkish nazarlik (a blue glass evil-eye pendant) as a stocking stuffer. Many Hands tries to buy ethically on fair-trade principles, often dealing directly with craftsman's cooperatives. I love this place. All kinds of cool things for all tastes. I saw the mother and child statuettes and wanted one with three children. They ordered it for me and contacted me as soon as it came in. I have found all sorts of fun things from large marbles that served as eyes in a dragon sculpture to a fun little birdie chip toy, gorgeous unique jewelry to leather-bound journals. It is a must see to truly understand what they have. Keep an eye on their Facebook page, they post something every day with in depth information about it. Very informative and interesting. This cute little store is amazing and I am just like why I haven't gone there sooner? When I am around old town, I always see this shop. One day, I wanted to go inside the place, so I did. I was instantly hit with, why I haven't gone inside sooner, this is amazing. They have things from around the world and things that are made locally. The one thing that I was amazed by that place was the nesting dolls they sell! I been looking for them all over the place, and I was finally able to see them. They are sooo beautiful and pretty!! The artists that make them is very talented indeed. So if you are looking for babuskha dolls, matryoshka, or nesting dolls. This is the place to find them. One thing I love about this store is that they have little cards that talk about a particular item and the background. Which I love that, because I can know about the origins about a certain item and what it is used for. It is very helpful to have those cards! Also their website is fabulous and probably one of the best small business website I had stumbled upon. They always update the website when new items come in or when they are sold out.
