It's extremely unfortunate that this bead store is nice . Me and my family are new to this area and decided to explore downtown , and we found this shop & decided to go in & pick something for my daughter to make (mind you we know nothing about making jewelry).So the fact that I was treated as if I was stupid or I didn't make any sense when I was talking was completely disgusting. Their customer service was terrible and the slam to the recipe & pen was completely uncalled for . I didn't wanna ruin this experience for my daughter so I kept my cool. If i was alone I would have walked out the store and spended my money somewhere else . I definitely wouldn't ever come back or recommend this place to anyone . Do better read more

Only been in store once, travelled 2.5 hours just to buy from their brick and mortar. I have made multiple online purchases and each time they have been amazing as I had saved several gift cards from Xmas. I called and they processed multiple transactions so that I could use my gift cards as I wasn't able to input multiples online. I also received a credit back as I ordered a few items from their fb page and paid my invoice on Sunday and then they decided to have a cyber Monday sale and offered me the discount. I was actually looking for small gauge metal chain and was able to find not one but three options to work with for my project. Rarely do I ever give five stars to anything but I absolutely love this bead store in Eureka. I made a special trip there just to go back there this year and purchase a very wide variety of beads. I visit Bead Stores all over California and there are only a small handful that I consider great bead stores. This is one of them. Went in yesterday to get a hook for my favorite pair of earring. I wish I could remember the name of the nice girl that helped me, she took a look at my earrings found the perfect hooks and we noticed that one of the little stones was out so she helped me pick out a color that matched perfectly. Then she put in new hooks for the pair of earrings and the new stone. She was very quick and efficient. I'm a person that really loves my jewelry and I don't often have issues with my jewelry but when I do I have always had excellent care here. I don't know if it's something other people do but I have always tipped the jewelry technicians because I am so happy with the attention & professional care I get. read more

I have often referred other students to this store for precious metal and other necessary materials for projects. NEVER AGAIN! Last week I called the store TWICE to verify that I could use a local check there with valid ID. The clerk told me of course. I got there and the other clerk told me she would absolutely not take my check. Why? Because she did not "know me" and would not make an exception, even though I had been told they would take my check and made the trip out to Eureka specifically to pick up metal. I walked right out and will never again go there for my supplies. Instead of encouraging students to shop there, I will now warn them to instead shop elsewhere or order online. My distaste for this store was only increased when another student told me in tears that they had charged her $60 an ounce for silver!!!!!!!! The price of silver has not exceeded 32$ all semester! Unfortunately the student was desperate to complete her project and had to buy the metal that day. How sad that they are taking advantage of being one of the only jewelry supply store in the area. Shame on you, Talisman. I don't know if ownership or employees have changed in the past couple of months but I am saddened that I will no longer be shopping here. read more

This is a great bead store! I was particularly impressed with their selection of brass beads and competitive prices. My husband and I stopped in here a while ago on our vacation looking for treasures and the girls who worked here were so polite and helpful. They told us where the beads we were interested in came from, how they could be used, and even gave us advice about what to do in town while we were visiting. We will definitely come back when we're in Eureka again. read more

Talisman is a treat! It's a beautiful little shop and their bead selection is amazing. The folks who work there are all artists, and they are uncommonly friendly and helpful. They will help you design and make beaded jewelry. Their taste and expertise makes it easy, even for novices. They also carry some Balinese imports, which makes it a good place to shop for gifts. I also love the advent calendar they make each holiday season, which features ornaments (beaded and otherwise) made be different local artists. One is revealed each day and you can buy tickets to win the whole lot! They money raised goes to different good causes each year. All in all a creative and thoughtfully run shop. read more

This is one of my favorite bead stores on the west coast. It is always an adventure and there are many treasures to be found (the wall of Czech glass is very impressive). The staff is WONDERFUL and the selection is diverse. Be sure and look up ... the entire ceiling is covered with exotic, brightly painted, flying creatures from Southeast Asia. read more

Talisman is a bead store with a big heart. I've known all the ladies for years going from a young age making bracelets to making my wedding necklace. Always friendly, always helpful and such a great selection. There is always new beads coming in and the staff will help customers with any problem. These gals are great crafters but no task is too simple or too beneath them. You can really see they love to help! The store is inviting, quirky and clean! Truly a treasure of Old Town and the community. It is hard to find people as nice as this anywhere else and on top of that they are always participating in some community building activity wether it is raising money for animal shelters or other great causes. read more

This is a cozy little shop. The prices are decent, the selection is pretty good. I love that they have the strings on the wall arranged by color and that they have so many different kinds of beads available by the strand (rather than having to count out a bunch of something one at a time, since i tend to buy large quantities). They sell some tools and other supplies which is nice. I don't know what it is, but something about the way they have the shop set up makes it seem sort of magical to me. Love the selection, service, and value you get from this store. They have a great selection of beads native to different countries like africa, bali, and china.
