I paid $130 for both services and I believe the work is mediocre at best. Hailey unfortunately was very rough, I did ask her to please be more gentle but there wasn't any change in pressure with the file. I feel like my manicure was very rushed because she mentioned she needed to go to Costco before they closed. My appointment was at 5pm, Costco closes at 8pm. After she was finished she did not ask me if I liked my nails or else I would have pointed out the imperfections. Henry did my pedicure. The pedicure overall was very nice and I believe he did a good job. My only problem with the pedicure is I selected the $60 pedicure because I wanted a 15 mins massage as they advertise. I was the only customer is the salon yet Henry got up twice to grab products I assume he forgot to grab. In total I got an 11 mins massage. Maybe I am being nit picky but the $50 pedicure comes with a 10 mins massage. Maybe I should have just opted for that instead and saved some money... Now at the end of the service Nicole asked me if I was satisfied. I was honest with her and showed her how messy my nails were. She tried her best to fix them but as you can see from the photos they are still very fuzzy and not clean. Nicole asked me why I didn't mention this to Hailey and I told her the truth...she didn't ask. For $130 I expected to get at least what I paid for. I did not receive any kind of discount and unfortunately left unsatisfied. It felt like random, light finger movements while her attention was somewhere else entirely. I finally had to confront her and ask what kind of massage she was even giving me. The entire experience was so unprofessional that it honestly made me question whether the person working on me was properly trained or licensed. I cannot verify her licensing status, so I am not claiming that she was unlicensed -- but based on the experience I received, I would absolutely want to know what her professional qualifications were. What made it even stranger was that after giving me what barely qualified as a massage, she still seemed to expect a tip. I left feeling 100% worse than when I walked in. The whole experience felt uncomfortable, careless, and deeply unpleasant. I wish I remembered her name, but unfortunately I don't. She is all sorts of talented. She just has "it", the "x" factor, that wonderful touch that makes you feel all amazing and J.Lo glowy after you leave. She really wanted me to relax and enjoy myself. She explained everything without upselling, and she was such a graceful and healing presence. She was the most requested facialist at Burke Williams before she started her own place. She is also always super booked, so make sure you get in early and often. You, too, can look like a six year old. She also doesn't leave you in the room with a mask. Oh no, she takes being in the room and healing massage to a different level: she uses healing stones on your feet, puts your hands in warm gloves and basically gives you a full body massage. Massage and facial = yes please!! I'll tell you how good she is: I walked in having a truly awful day, and I walked out knowing and feeling that everything is going to be alright. For starters, my initial tour didn't include the quiet room, which I later discovered on my own after my treatment. In addition, there were no light snacks in the women's area, only a single water dispenser & a tea station, both of which were empty the entire 4 hour duration of my time there. Upon departure I realized there are some light snacks in the "members area" , which was also not shown to me during my tour upon check in, and I was surprised to see it all being put away at 5:30 , despite the spa being open until 7:00 pm. When a spa facilitates extended exposure to heat via saunas and hot tubs, it's essential that patrons have access to water so they can rehydrate and to have snacks available. This was a total disappointment. For the service itself, I got a 60 minute de-stress package. The first few minutes after my technician introduced herself were spent reviewing upsell options for feet, scalp, eye, and shoulder treatments that ranged an addition $40-60. I was surprised to learn the add-ons did not actually add time to the service, but the same 60 minute massage would occur with an emphasis on the body part mentioned. This was tacky and not something I would expect from a 5 star resort. In terms of the facilities and their upkeep, the towels were piled high in the hampers throughout the time I was there and the bowl with iced washcloths stayed empty until the last hour. The facilities themselves were outdated and nothing special with respect to the dry and wet saunas and the small whirlpool in the women's section. Overall I do not recommend the Waldorf Astoria spa and will spend my $300-500 spa day money elsewhere.
