I had to come back and update my review because this place continues to impress me. If you haven't…read morebeen to Light Hill Meats yet, you're seriously missing out. The quality of everything they sell is top-notch, and it's become one of my favorite local spots for fresh meat. But this visit, I have to talk about the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Wow. It was one of those desserts that makes you stop talking after the first bite. The cobbler was warm, packed with sweet blueberries, and had the perfect buttery, crumbly topping. Paired with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it, it was absolutely incredible. I honestly wasn't expecting to find one of my favorite desserts at a butcher shop, but here we are! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or make recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their products and the experience they provide. It's rare that I update a review, but this place earned it. Between the outstanding meats, excellent customer service, and now one of the best blueberry cobblers I've had, Light Hill Meats keeps giving me reasons to come back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor--grab some meat for dinner and don't leave without trying the blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. You can thank me later!

I like to support local businesses, but it's become obnoxious. Perfect example is they sell Masa Chips for $15 a bag. I have ordered them direct for months, @16 bags for $56, free shipping. Seriously, I am all for running a profitable business, but I stopped shopping there for a year, and finally went back for sausage just last week. I will again, go back to Semler Farms.

Some highlights were the burger (the best I've ever had), the trout (also the best I've ever had), the charcuterie board (delicious), and the beef tallow fries (also delicious). The service was amazing; the servers were very nice and the food was very quick. Also, the ambiance was very nice; we were there on a Tuesday night and there was a waitlist (I recommend coming around 5 PM to beat the crowd). Overall, amazing! 5 stars.

Chattanooga is a meat town. Main Street Meats seems perfectly content with that fact…read more This is a butcher shop that happens to feed you, which is usually a promising arrangement. Nothing arrives looking like it spent twenty minutes being positioned with tweezers. It's meat, bread, potatoes, pickles and sauce--the sort of food that requires napkins and leaves evidence. The Reuben is borderline obscene. A heap of deeply colored, tender meat barely contained between aggressively toasted bread, melted cheese and pickles. It's messy. It falls apart. You stop caring almost immediately. The turkey club is the quieter surprise. Thick slices of actual turkey--not the sad, uniformly circular stuff that's been haunting office refrigerators since the Eisenhower administration--piled onto grilled bread with bacon, avocado and enough richness to make the whole thing work. Then there are the potatoes: thick, fried rounds with crisp, dark edges and soft centers, served without ceremony alongside ketchup and a creamy orange sauce. Simple food done properly. There's nowhere for bad technique to hide. And that's really the appeal of Main Street Meats. They're not trying to convince you that lunch needs a backstory. They butcher animals, understand meat, make sandwiches and appear to take all of it seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Michelin noticed the place. After eating here, it's not particularly difficult to understand why. Come hungry. Order too much. Get the Reuben. Wear a shirt you don't particularly care about.

Probably some of the best produce in town, and great prices on Hispanic groceries and items that you don't find in most Name brand markets. I also love the fact that they have ready to serve Barbacoa, Carnitas, and other items in the back "deli." And the fresh fried chicharrones are the best. I love coming here for the big cans of hominy for time when I'm making Pozole Roja, or for Napales (cactus) and other specialty Hispanic items. They also have a great selection of kitchen ware if you need it. Come check them out

In my family tradition, for the holidays, we have a special type of almond candy called turron. There are several styles like alicante and jijona. Mercado Marias has it! Got my turron and more! Fresh chorizo, spices, and just about any Latino grocery product item you want! The store is a bit cramped, but so worth the go! Reasonable prices here and very pleasant staff. I highly recommend the store for all those hard to find Hispanic grocery items on your list! Gracias, Mercados Marias! El chorizo fue muy delicioso y me alegró tanto que tienes el turron que estabamos buscando! Definitivamente volveré de compras a tu tienda. Tienes una gran selección de artículos que no puedo encontrar en ningún otro lugar.

The vast inventory of cooking oils was especially good and the variety of packaged products was overwhelming. I am extremely happy that I do not have to travel all the way to Nashville to get what I want anymore. I understand there may also be cooked food in the future. A Facebook page would be nice, too. The young man who helped me make my purchases was very nice and professional. I will enjoy visiting this store on a regular basis!
