Maria is an amazing colorist!! She is detailed, patient, and the best at what she does. I showed her couple of photos of how I wanted my hair to look - an ash brown balayage. She listened to my concerns, had wonderful recommendations and was realistic because my hair had been dyed twice before. She had to undo the dark brown box dye and then color it. Maria worked slowly to ensure my hair would lift to the color I desired and explained the process every step of the way. The end result was amazing!! It was better than I could have imagined (you can see for yourself in the photos attached)! She is the sweetest and even stayed past closing to finish my hair. Thank you for fixing my hair!! I am new to the area and was looking for a someone to cut my hair. I have medium to short hair. I called the salon and they were able to take me in as a walk in. I was scheduled with Rosie. Everyone was courteous and the salon is beautiful and clean. Rosie was new to the Salon but the way she cut my hair was with experience. She did a great job. She had a little mishap with the sink and my shirt got all wet but the cut and service were good. Upon check out the cashier asked if I lived close by. I moved to be close to my grandkids. She told me that the price for the service was 110. 00 dollars without tip. I realized I hadn't asked for the price of the cut before the service started. I paid but I was taken aback. The salon was by no means a luxury salon with amenities. I left with a wet shirt and hair on my neck. I didn't mind because the cut was great. I understand paying a hairdresser what they are worth. I honestly pay and compensate through tip. I did give a tip that day. I tried to call back for a second cut. I called and asked to talk with Rosie about her rates and the receptionist on the phone did not allow me to speak directly to Rosie. She told me 110.00 is the rate and that was it. I have several friends in the industry and I do know that if the hairdresser is renting the chair, she or he sets their own rates. I was disappointed to not have the opportunity to talk to Rosie. I would have been more than happy to have Rosie explain to me her rates. I would recommend this salon but I would caution you about rates before your service. read more

I just had my hair cut here for the first time and holy crap I love this place. The interior is really nice and upscale. The atmosphere is super chill. Their staff is incredibly polite. They were very nice and welcoming when I entered. Mario, who cut my hair, is not only very cool and personable, but he also gave me an amazing haircut. As a guy, it's really hard to find a good stylist, especially one that does a really good job on their first try, but this dude cut my hair EXACTLY how I like it. He is really really really good. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming. As this was my first time at the Hair Lab I was greeted kindly and met Mario for my cut. The salon has a beautiful seating area and open layout. My medium long hair needed a few inches chopped off and some layers. My stylist was intuitive with the cut and trim as I imagined after we discussed length and framing. When he handed me the mirror to view the back of my hair I was in awe of the layers, looking like " That girl " hair that we all love to see with perfect long layers. Next up a dye and gloss from the Colorist also named Mario. He was really a joy to talk with about anything and everything, I felt at ease as he applied his magic coloring technique to each segment of my hair. After my gloss my hair was dried and styled to perfection. A wonderful experience and service from start to finish. This place is extremely unprofessional. they did a terrible job of touching up my roots and then made it all my fault. I came in and asked to get my roots touched up and I mentioned I was on a call. The person who did my hair did such a poor job in the end I could see a ton of whites still showing and blow dry was not done really well. So of course I first saw the blow dry and I said hey my hair looks a little frizzy, the lady at the front desk started huffing and puffing as if I was making it up. Then I also pointed out that my roots weren't really as dark as I wanted and I still saw a lot of white spots, she told me "i've never seen clients as picky as you, this is what we mean that you shouldn't be on calls the whole time". why can't I be picky about root touchup when that's what I came in for? And secondly if you had a question for me related to my roots or blow dry or whatever, all you had to do was signal or ask or let me know in advance that this work call would be an issue. She was extremely rude and I think very unprofessional because she's blaming me for the fact that the roots were not done correctly, I don't know how my phone call is connected to the fact that the color they used was not right. but most importantly what really was annoying was her reaction, where she said I was being picky about it and that it's my fault. What a lousy place. Please don't go here. I would give less stars if that was an option read more

I rarely post a review but I'm doing this because MariaElena deserves to be recognized and appreciated for her outstanding work, and also in the hope that this might help others who, like what happened to me, are in search of a good colorist. I can not recommend her enough. I received a failed coloring job last Saturday from another salon, leaving me with a full head of green-ish, blue-ish and grey-ish supposedly blond-ish hair. Not only did Maria salvage the situation, but she also gave me the exact color I wanted in the first place! I knew I could trust her after a few minutes of communication with her. She is very experienced and diligent, as well as warm, gentle and down to earth. She even went to the Instagram account where I got my coloring idea from. MariaElena is an absolute gem. Really loved my experience here! I came to get my haircut in the midst of the corona pandemic and this salon followed very safe precautions, everyone wore a mask, there was a limited amount of people in the salon, all spaced out, they provided hand sanitizer and checked my temperature as soon as I came in and I also had to sign a waiver. It was my first time here and I got my haircut with Bruce and I am very happy with the results!! I've literally never left the salon after a haircut as happy as I was with this one! He did exactly what I asked for and styled my hair so beautifully. I can't say enough good things about this place!
