Went in tonight to order food to go. I had a beer when I walked in. I ordered my food and then sat at the bar to order a tequila shot. The bartender said she was going to take my beer, I said I'll go outside to wait for my food. When my food was ready I came back inside and the bartender was super abrasive. She was rude and bordered on being a bully. I threw the beer away, picked up my food and left. I wouldn't recommend this place as long as this bully is serving from behind the bar. read more

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for cocktails as classy as it's atmosphere then go no further. A friendly staff serves up an extensive list of both beer and liquor, a true unicorn in a world where most establishments specialize in one or the other. For anyone that knows me, I love a bar with a good whiskey list. The Haberdasher fit that bill in my research but in-person it more than impressed. The decor and environment fit my idea of what I would expect from a place called The Haberdasher: leather backed booths and chairs, repurposed barrels as high tops, an ornate arrangement of bottles behind the bar. However I give it points for the little details like hooks for your coat/purse and lit power outlets for charging. Service right now is self-serve: you order at the bar for drinks and you go to the kitchen counter to order food. The service (especially Nick) is friendly and knowledgeable. The "bar snacks" are solid: the Brussel Sprouts were tasty with a nice savory profile (did I taste a little truffle and garlic?) while the Smashburger was good but it felt a tad salty (not sure where it came from but it stuck out to me.) I was impressed with the whiskey list, which featured rare bottles as well as their own barrel of Russel's Reserve (their staff flies up there to pick the barrel themselves.) I am not a beer guy but there is a large TV used not for sports- but for displaying their draft choices- many of them local (if you stare at the screen long enough it flashes a "Drink Alabama Beer!" message. Overall this was the perfect place to kick off a night out in Mobile. I could only wish I had more time (and money) to try more of the whiskey list. read more

Lovely little cocktail bar. I am not really certain that they are taking COVID precautions seriously or if it's just the customers were abundant and social distancing was near possible. You can sit outside but have to order food inside so that's another concern. Otherwise, this place would have 5 stars! The cocktail craft is amazing. The servers are so kind and sweet. The ambiance inside and outside is so quant and the soft lighting and mix of seating is fun - of course we sat outside due to COVID but would def love to come back after. They structure their menu with their spirits and have great local brews and descriptions. The craft cocktails are clever with ingredients and names, fairly priced and sized. For Whiskey drinkers, there are lots to choose from which I love. I can't find the name of my drink on the menu anymore but it was a take on a whiskey sour with pineapple and some other fun bitters/liquors. It was aooo good! This bar was full of people! They had a decent happy hour drink menu. Everyone was double fisted. You seat yourself and go order your food from a walk up kitchen area in the back and then do the same at the bar. When crowded it can seem like a lot. Luckily the couple seated next to us gave us the run down, after we had been seated for quite some time. The staff would walk by, speak and clean the dishes that people would place in a bin on the side by the napkins. A unique and fun restaurant/bar. They don't offer any table service for food or drinks. If you want a drink you go to the bar and get it, if you want food you go to the food counter to order and they text you when your food is ready. Food is very good, love the fresh cut fries and also the avocado fries. Bar is mostly craft cocktails and beer. Bartenders are amazing especially Marshall. They started with Sunday hours and I don't need pictures for this. I've said it once and I'll say it again....yes. Ughhhhhh the ny strip is soooo tender and melt in your mouth delicious. Yes, they have LOVELY cocktails. The point of the matter is that the food is what your dad "the grill master" would be proud of. The scotch egg was ok, I wouldn't order it again, I may have misread the menu but normally a scotch egg has pork sausage wrapped around it and this was hamburger so it really wasn't very flavorful. Avocado fries were NOT put on my order despite ordering them and discussing how they were supposed to be good with the under-attentive button tapper. People are nice to me almost 98% of the time when I am out and about in the world, even the cities with the grouchiest stereotypes, service is rarely a problem for me. But The Haberdasher employees really stood out for being pleasant and genuinely nice. Other than my server delivering the best cocktail that I had on my whole roadtrippin' journey, he also let me take a photo with his phone, text it to me and took my phone inside to be charged. Only to bring it out later because my husband called. Talk about going beyond the call of duty. I was there with my son, daughter-in-law and two friends last night spent $75. I love this bar but unfortunately I no longer will be coming to this bar. I was asked to leave because I had an old ready Trump hat on and respectfully walked out of the bar. Without an issue then the bartender came out onto the street and told me that there was a political dress code. Mind you I had gone in and out of the bar several times to have a cigarette out on the street the doorman didn't seem to notice. The bartender told me since we won the election it was people like us that made their patrons uncomfortable. I was there for an hour and a half and I have been there many times before with my head on without an issue you people need to post some thing on your door that says no political clothing allowed, don't tell me after I spent $75 and then come and attack verbally my wife and I when we did absolutely nothing wrong. Woke is dying fellas you need to get with the times so if you need a safe place, go there because they will cater to your needs.It really sucks because I enjoyed the place in the past so guys if you're reading this why did you let me stay for an hour and a half and then throw me out with after we had a 75 dollar bill. Always enjoy coming to have some drinks here. It's a neat place but kind of small so hard to find a seat. We tried food for the first time and it was very mediocre. They also don't do table service so make sure at least one person stays at your table if you get one so it doesn't get snatched up. My husband got the lamb and it was pretty undercooked. This is our FAVORITE bar in Mobile! We have been many times, but I must say my favorite drink was had last night. The interior of this bar is so warm and inviting - almost like stepping back in time. They also serve food, although that's not what we are after when we come to the Haberdasher. We always have a great time here. The bartenders are friendly, make fabulous concoctions, and offer great conversation! If you are a fan of Jameson, get the Galway Hooker. It is exceptional! I also enjoyed a pour of Redbreast 12 yr Irish Whiskey, something I thought I wouldn't try again after having it in Dublin. This is a really good cocktail bar. I came here for my birthday. The drinks were great. The cocktails are pricy, but I splurged, had three, plus two or three craft beers. My husband had Jagermeister plus Budweiser chasers. It was a splurge, it was my birthday. We ran up a $90 bar tab but I did not care. The bartenders are talented. This is a true craft cocktail bar that also has a solid beer list and a decent bar menu. We got here on a Friday around 6pm and were lucky enough to find 2 seats at the bar as it was pretty packed. The place is dark with a long bar with various booths to sit and bourbon barrel tables to stand near and shoot the crap with. There are no pool tables, dart boards or games; it's just a cool bar to socialize. We stopped in during happy hour which is from 4-630 and is Monday-Saturday. They offer 2.00 off menu items, 5.00 well Old Fashioneds and a bunch of other 5.00 specials. They literally have 5 variations of the Old Fashioned on their menu. I tried The Mississippi variation which is made with a Barq's root beer reduction. It was a solid take on the drink. The ladyfriend had a perfectly made extra dirty vodka martini and was pleased. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to order any food but I definitely will if I'm ever back in Mobile as this is my kind of place. read more
