We arrived at Edgewater Public Market on a Thursday for a late lunch. Inside is wasn't too busy, there were plenty of tables to sit at & a ton of restaurant options to choose from. After roaming around for a while we decided to try The Gyros King & we're happy we did. There was only one employee working...he was friendly & helpful. Outside there were lots of trees, benches, picnic tables as well as bike racks & ample parking spaces. We had the Traditional Gyros Sandwich with a Side Salad. The sandwich was filled with seasoned beef & lamb, red onion, tomato & Tzatziki Sauce all in a Pita. This was delicious, I especially enjoyed the sauce & the meats were flavorful too. The bread wasn't as fresh as it could have been, it kept falling apart. The salad was very good. The dressing was yummy & all the ingredients were crisp. However, I would have liked the cucumbers & tomatoes to be bite size. All in all a good lunch, next time I'll try the Hummus Plate & the Fried Calamari. read more

I've had their salads before, this was my first time getting a gyro. Gyro sounded good on this evening. It comes with a handful of fries underneath. Like all the restaurants in Edgewater, they have a screen based ordering system that will text when the order is ready for pick up. I chose the gyro as well as an order of dolmades. It was a relatively short weight given that it was prime dinner rush. I took my order and headed off to my book club. The sandwich was a bit messy. I know to ask for plastiware next time. Luckily I had access to some extra napkins. The dolmades were tasty, with a wedge of lemon and some feta on top. I would get both of these items again. read more

It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Edgewater Public Market and come here relatively often. The food court serves the masses while boasting a wide variety of cuisines. I try to eat at a different stall every time I come here. Gyros King sounded good and it had been awhile since my last time! The market was slammed on a warmer winter Friday night. We love to see it! Gyros King has a big menu with gyros, salads, desserts, side, etc. Wanted to keep it simple so I went with the chicken souvlaki. I also wanted the baklava cheesecake, but the (presumed) owner said they recently switched to a new supplier and he didn't have any product. He was very nice about it as he could tell I really wanted to try it! Unfortunately, my socks weren't knocked off. The flavor of the chicken was rather bland and left a lot to be desired. The chicken and the tomatoes desperately needed seasoning. The sandwich was falling apart just upon the second bite, it was really messy. It was filling, but if I'm being honest I just wasn't impressed. The fries were good, they tasted surprisingly close to a McDonald's fry, which who's gonna complain about that?! The Edgewater Market has some heavy hitters when it comes to their food options and I feel like they have more consistent places than what Gyros King has to offer. Not going to lie I was disappointed by Gyro King. I love Greek food and was happy to see them open. I ordered just a traditional gyro and opted for fried on the side instead of inside. The gyro came out quick which was nice. The fries were also nice and hot, but extremely salty. The gyro was bland which was also disappointing and it did not have enough tzatziki on it for my liking. All in all it filled the hunger craving for a gyro so it did its job. read more

I. Love. Gyro. Kings. First off, the owner is the sweetest man ever! He is so kind, attentive and helpful! The food is delicious! I enjoy the plates because I can pile on my pitas with a variety of different foods. The combo plate comes with 3 different meats and it's nice getting to try all of them! The tzatziki sauce is light and refreshing, I usually need at least 2 for me personally haha. Pita is fluffy and I usually order a second order of it because I chow down on those quick! I would have loved to give this place a 5 star because the food was delicious but I was very disappointed with how the manager treated one of their employees (Kara) right in front of us while ordering food from their restaurant. The manager rudely snatched a to-go box from their employee. It was uncalled for. Kara was amazing though. Such a positive and friendly demeanor. We're in town visiting the great city of Denver and checking out all of the great food available here. The wife and I stopped at the Edgewater Public Market to check out the offerings and among the gems there is Gyros King. Beyond the great food, the salt of the earth personnel Art and Rudy (I hope the names are correct, apologies if not) really makes the place stand out with their customer service. The guys were closing shop due to a labor shortage and even though most of the stuff was put away, they still accommodated me with a great gyro. Definitely willing to go above and beyond, which makes an establishment have legs. Love the fresh toppings and well-seasoned lamb. If we're ever back in this neck of the woods, we'll be sure to stop in again! read more

I was delighted with how good my salad as. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the greens were fresh and crisp and the pita was actually too good. (I wasn't planning on eating it.) I will come back for their Greek Salad. Highly recommend!!! read more

We stopped here to enjoy checking out the location and all the food offered at this marketplace. It is a great place to do this and enjoy the atmosphere which is wonderful. Today we watched people which included those headed to or coming from a prom along with a variety of others. Casual dress is fine here and there is plenty of outside seating. Of all the food here we picked Gyros King. I ordered the gyros sandwich with fries and the chicken souvlaki also with fries. Pricing was a bit high at around $15 a meal but the portions were pretty big. Now for the best news....the food was utterly delicious! The gyro meat was perfectly cooked and tender. It is a sandwich made with pita bread and it was loaded with meat and all those additions you love in a gyro. Excellent! The chicken souvlaki was eaten by my spouse. Both of us just planned to have just a little but we kept eating and eating until we finished it all. So if you're famished and in the area by all means stop by and give this place a try. We ordered from here using DoorDash and the restaurant got our order completely wrong. Someone in our group is lactose intolerant so we asked for no cheese or tzatziki and the food was covered in both. read more
