The class was a fast paced total body workout that included the treadmill, bike, tower and weights that could be modified to the various fitness levels of my bridesmaids. Kathy's coaching style was perfect for our group - she pushed us to work harder and motivate us, but was extremely personable. Yes that's right when you become a member you can go to any burn nation wide. This location is awesome and full of energetic motivating women that will make your workout so much fun it will fly by. Burn Boot Camp provides 45min non stop sessions that will get your heart pumping. I have lost 60 pounds and in the process gained a family of strong women that are cheering me on through the process. They have child watch which is included in your membership. As well as one on one nutritional guidence and to discuss your goals and the best way to accomplish them. Best part is that the sessions are only 45mins long, making it the best 45mins in the day for YOU. All levels of fitness can start here, the trainers show modifications to help out and challenge oneself. Focus meetings with the trainers help you stay on track on whatever your goals might be - nutrition, running a 5K or marathon the first time or doing the 1st pull up. Trainers watch and help correct form no matter which station you are at. Oh, and they have a "floating floor" which is easier on the knees. It is recommended to keep outside shoes separate from gym shoes. Greatly enjoy the 45mins of working out here. It's not easy but I am challenged to give it my best. There is atleast 1free Saturday a month if you wish to give it a try.

I decided to check out this location during my lunch break and do a quick workout just to see if I liked it first. In the past you could get a day pass for free to try a new location, but I know they started charging $5 for day passes so I walked in ready to pay. When I expressed my intentions, the black card was immediately pushed on me. I clarified that I wanted the day pass so I could try it before switching, to which I was told I'd need to pay $20 for my workout due to new company policy if I wouldn't switch to the black card. It was basically a "sorry, sign up for the black card right this second, pay $20, or I can't help" even though I was looking to become a customer of this establishment. I was willing to pay, but I can't justify $20 for a quick cardio session during lunch. I was noticeably upset that I'd just wasted 20 minutes of my already short lunch break from work, and I would not be able to get my workout in for the day as planned. I've had various customer service jobs in the past, and I would have found a resolution so a customer didn't leave upset the way that I did. I've never left a negative review on Yelp before, but it doesn't sit right with me to have my time wasted as a loyal customer of Planet Fitness for over 5 years. North Smithfield just lost my business over what would have been a quick 30-minute ride on the elliptical. You can continue nickel-and-diming other customers, but I won't be one of them.
